Jounouchi tensed more when he saw Kaiba was ignoring him. He opened his mouth to shout as he started to board the helicopter, but froze half-way, suddenly remembering the crash they had been in earlier. He took a deep breath. It wouldn't happen a second time... right? He quickly shook his head, climbing in and taking his seat, now without a word.

((Okay found it. And it seems vaguely familiar; I think I read it a long, long time ago. XD I think we're thinking of the same one; it was really long. Wasn't it on a site called like Rum and Monkey or something like that? And I took that thing so many times with my OC. I think I had one who was a bit up there, but I also had characters that were full-on anti-sues. XD

By the way, fully caught up on Supernatural now. I forgot, you were caught up on the series already, right? I'm itchin' to talk about it. XD))

Seto glanced at Jounouchi when he realised he'd just given up on the argument so easily. 'You alright?' he asked, as kindly as he was capable. He wasn't thrilled about flying again either, but he was determined to handle it.

((I can't remember where I stumbled across the long quiz, I think it was relinked in a lot of places, but yea it's probably the same quiz.

I have 4 episodes left from season 8, the last one I saw was the hell taxi episode where they released Bobby (so, I guess you know about that now too? :'( ). I'll aim to catch up this weekend hopefully, been putting it off, but also wasn't aware I had so few episodes left in order to be current.))

Jounouchi looked over at Kaiba, quickly shifting in his seat, "Yeah, I'm fine." he said stubbornly, also determined to take this flight in stride. He at first was only focused on saving face, but after a moment he thought about it, and realized how strange Kaiba's concern a moment ago was. He looked back at the other with a curious glance, studying him a moment before looking away once more.

((Ah, got it. And yeah, Bobby. D: I mean I like Garth and it's amusing what they're doing with him and stuff, but you just... you can't replace Bobby. But sweet, the ending is must-see. Probably the most intense season ending of the series, at least I feel. Let me know when you've finished!))
PostPosted: Tue Jun 18, 2013 7:56 am

While Seto didn't fully believe that Jounouchi was 'fine' he decided to accept this assertion as 'fine enough.' That decided he turned his attention to the task at hand. 'So where are we exactly going now, who is this contact Isis has sent us off to see, and why is this our best first contact?' Seto asked diplomatically.

((Yea Bobby's death is always the hardest thing when people tell me they've started watching Supernatural. My bf started it while I was in CA and he just adored Bobby and it kind of broke my heart as I refrained from telling him Bobby wasn't going to make it. So when you said you liked Bobby I was like, oh not again! Hah, but yea I do like Garth but I don't like when they try to obviously make him Bobby (having him steal lines, or small actions, or whatever - it'd make sense of Garth was Bobby's son or something, but not so much as is). Him being in that advice/based hunter role is amusing, I just don't want them to continually stab at Garth as Bobby because it is a further reminder that Bobby is gone. Will definitely let you know when I finish the series though, looking forward to it now.))

"I've never been to the city he's in, but that paper I gave you has all the directions." Jounouchi replied, quickly going back to focusing on the task at hand, "As for who the contact is, Isis said his name is Domon Tenchi. She sent us to him because he's the the best supernatural expert she knows of here, even though he's apparently a jackass."

((I know, it felt so much like Dean, Sam, Cas, and Bobby where the only ones absolutely not allowed to die, and then Bobby just snuffs out and he doesn't come back like the others... D: I thought after he said that he wanted to come back when Sam sent him off, maybe Cas could resurrect him or something, but no dice so far.))
PostPosted: Wed Jun 19, 2013 5:32 am

Seto handed the directions to his pilot before turning back to Jounouchi. 'A jackass huh? Care to elaborate?' Seto asked, somewhat bemused at how offended Jounouchi appeared to be just thinking about this man.

((Yea, I think the show is reliant on the two main characters, and bringing them back is acceptable while still allowing the show the ability to create loss - bit necessary in this genre - through the removal of loved minor characters. Bringing back characters like Cas or Meg from time to time who aren't human doesn't challenge the shows ability to ignore death, bringing back other humans would just mean that no death has to be viewed as permanent. Which will give the deaths a lot less meaning when you can say, oh they'll bring him back I'm sure. I mean the major characters are already pretty much immortal, make the minor characters immortal and this show loses all sense of consequence, which would lessen the impact of a series where the threats are basically death/hell/loss.))

"Isis said he's real arrogant, like worse than you. He probably won't give us any information unless we can give him a reason to respect us." Jounouchi explained, wondering how they would manage it. Both he and Kaiba were decent at physical combat, but he had a feeling this guy was a little more professional than Jounouchi's street fighting and Kaiba's self defense training. Probably mastered a martial art or two. So what else could they do besides fight him? Pay him off? Not with how Isis described him. Trade knowledge? Maybe.

((Yeah, that's true, but there are still plenty of other minor characters they can kill off besides Bobby. Well, I'm just gonna hope Charlie keeps surviving.))

Seto was not even going to feign insult at the implication of his arrogance. 'How exactly are we meant to impress this guy?' Seto asked, unsure what to make of a holier than thou occult specialist.

((Yea, but come on, who'd ramp up the emotion more than Bobby? He made it a lot longer than one might have expected, though that is probably just what added to the intensity of losing him.))

"Maybe try fighting him? Isis said he's into that kinda thing." Jounouchi blinked, "But not like in a weird fetish way. I guess he thinks of himself as a warrior or something stupid like that. Or maybe just give him information on the Sennen Items? Like a knowledge trade kinda thing?"

((Yeah well I call cheap shot on their part there. XD))

'That seems utterly absurd, and the fact that you felt that clarification was necessary is a tad disturbing. I don't see how fisticuffs is a relevant use of our time, you can't punch malevolent supernatural forces,' Seto scoffed.

((Alright, all caught up on SN, and yea I have to say I really enjoyed this season and I thought it ended well - though the boyfriend is getting sick of heaven and hell and just wants the show to end already. He stopped watching earlier this season, part of why I didn't keep current as most of the TV I stay caught up on is stuff he'll watch as well. I really liked Metatron, though was very much suspicious of him, was sad that they brought some old faces back to just kill them off, and generally just think that their take on heaven/hell is a cool idea and I enjoy watching it explored. That's about all I have time to say atm, but yes fully caught up now so you are free to say all.))

Jounouchi snorted, "Well, you got any better ideas?"

((Sweet, glad you liked it. I'm getting a little sick of the heaven hell thing too, but don't want the series to end. Rather, I'd like for it to calm the plot back down a bit, more like it was in the first couple seasons, with a lot of random monster hunts, but continue in the direction they're going with character development. I'm finally starting to like Sam and Destiel just needs to happen. Plus now that Cas is human, he can join in on the fun hunts with no OP angel stuff! And in my last post I was gonna say I was hoping Cas would resurrect Bobby, but now that can't happen since he's human, then quickly changed my post when I realized the spoiler and just said it hadn't happened so far. XD But now you know my true intent.

Metatron honestly creeped me the hell out (no pun intended), but I thought he was a well-done character and I liked his plot and how different his motivation was compared to the usual villains. Also, what did you think of Crowley at the end? I was giggling like a dork and in shock at the same time, and I rewatched his rambling scene like four times before I succumbed to the fact I had no idea what his meaning behind those words were for the most part. My favorite part though was the end where Dean and Sam and then Cas look up to see all the falling angels. It was surprisingly intense and I got chills from that. XD))

Seto rolled his eyes and said, 'look, we'll meet the guy and see how it goes. However, I don't know if I trust this man to be very helpful if his idea of disseminating supernatural advice requires a boxing match first.'

((He is human, but Cas being human is obviously nothing that has to be permanent, but he hasn't quite had the resurrecting soles mojo since the leviathans. I have a feeling that restoring Bobby permanently isn't likely (unless the show goes on for several more seasons, in which case anything becomes likely), but it can always be hoped. Metatron was creepy, but yea I thought he was a good character and even with intentions revealed (which I still feels leaves a lot of questions) I'm excited about him. Crowley was great of course, but I pretty much always love Crowley. Wondering what happens with him now though, if they don't finish the 'cure.' I thought the ending was quite intense and almost cinematic, though again Tom rolling his eyes the whole time didn't help. But looking forward to next season, will try to stay on top of it this time. Though with the PhD thing you never know.))

"I'm not arguing with you there. This guy seems like a total nut job, but Isis really vouched for him. Said he was our best chance." Jounouchi shrugged, starting to relax a bit in his seat finally.

((I don't know, I feel like all the other times Cas became human, it was weak, impermanent reasons; this seems a lot more definite, considering his very grace was used in a spell and is seemingly gone now for good. Plus I think fans were getting tired of Cas being OP compared to the boys, and they often wrote themselves into a corner with his abilities, having to always have reasons to send him away. It just seems like a logical, needed step at this point, making him human. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part though, who knows. I do agree about Bobby, as much as I wish it weren't the case. I am also really interested and hoping they'll reveal more about Metatron's plan and motivations, and of course eager to find out what happens with Crowley. Someone I watch on DA made a joke comic about the brothers, human!Cas, Crowley, and Kevin all living together in the secret base now, so it'd be like some reality show. Lessee... here it is. And yay, season nine will be the first season I can actually stay on top of!))

'I'll talk to him, but my patience is wearing thin lately. If he's unreasonably ridiculous I'll turn elsewhere for help, best chance or not,' Seto answered stubbornly. Jounouchi seemed to be relaxing, but Seto was unable to calm down and enjoy the (possibly perilous) helicopter ride. He was still far too preoccupied by his inspired search into his own family history.

((If it was just Cas that was human I'd agree, but it's all the angels (except possibly Metatron for some magical reason, not sure how he exempted himself), and I doubt all the angels will stay human. Even if it was Cas's grace used I still have a feeling when all the other angels somehow manage to regain angel powers Cas will as well. I also am not sure what Cas will do as a human, or if he even has his memory of being Cas. Cas never feels overpowered to me, probably because for whatever reason (not necessarily believable ones) he doesn't generally use these powers. He used the powers most during the apocalypse arc, however the archangels being even more powered up kept Cas from seeming unreasonably strong in the greater scheme of things. However, I think this is the first shift in a long time (since they decided to inset the higher powers) and I'm happy about that. I'm also hoping the return to the original Dean/Sam dynamic holds out, because I really think that was one of the best parts of the show. Of course more episodes that are focused on an individual case rather than the overarching theme (even if overarching themes are still there in the background) would definitely be a good mood. Guess we'll see what we get next Fall.

Heh, the comic is cute, and I can totally see it...minus Kevin in fishnets. xd ))

Jounouchi looked at Kaiba curiously, wondering if he was starting to lose his cool in all of this. He then said something he never thought he would say, "Well, if that ends up being the case, let me do the talking. I want to take any chance we can get, so I'll try to handle it without pissing him off."

((Well, the thing is, I don't think the other angels turned human. Metatron's spell was to banish them from heaven, not make them human. Plus they were all glowing as they fell, implying they still had their grace. So I was thinking angels would instead end up becoming another 'supernatural problem' on earth, not a bunch of new humans. Cas had his grace cut out and used in a spell; the others were just kicked out as they were, without even taking human hosts. When involved in the main plot, I do not think Cas usually seems overpowered, but they always have to conveniently send him away when they do subplot or oneshot episodes, because he is overpowered in those types of situations. And yes, I agree I'm happy about the shift and that the Sam/Dean dynamic seems to be finally returning strong. I am not sure why Kevin was dressed like that, but it was amusing nonetheless.))
