*****Rini Chikongou *****Chuunin | Medic
Some small part of Rini was aware that Katsuro had spoken to her, but she could not bring herself to acknowledge it, so deep was the fear that permeated her body. She tried to move -- to speak -- do to anything -- but she could not. It was impossible. The chakra flames -- the terrifying transformation -- filled her gaze and made every molecule of her body yearn to run-hide-flee, but she could not move. She could barely even breathe. See? This is why you need me.
From Yun's shadow -- visible to none but Rini -- it rose, snaking up and sneering at the Mizukage. If you were in his path, you would probably be dead already, so complete is his rage. You're so frozen, you wouldn't stand a chance. It's the fear. With a smirk, it spoke those words she had not heard in so long. What is it you fear?
Rini blinked, and the Shadow-thing was gone -- replaced by the lack of suffocating chakra and the sight of Yun doubled over and coughing up blood. She gasped. "Mizukage-sama!' Rini rushed to his side, grabbing a hold of his shoulders to steady him. "Easy, easy, there. Oh, kami." Quickly, her hands flashed through signs and medical chakra flared. She rested her them on his back, running them slowly down. "Diagnosis. Oh, kami . . . what have you done?" Rini could not believe what the jutsu was telling her -- weak and ruptured chakra channels -- blood in the lungs -- she had never seen anything like this -- not in all of her time training. She could not even think of what jutsu -- neither learned nor copied into her notebook -- that would handle this. Maybe the Mystical Hand Technique, but that was a Jounin technique and Rini was nowhere near being able to perform it.
She swallowed and drew a deep breath. Focus. She needed to focus. Allow me. Suddenly, the fear and anxiety vanished. Clarity claimed her mind and sharpened her gaze. First step: stop the bleeding. "Hang in there, sir. Blood Coagulation." Rini closed her eyes, pushing her healing chakra down through his back and to his lungs, focusing intently on the lacerations that were causing the internal bleeding and urging them to solidify -- coagulate. She could not quite heal them totally at the moment, but this would start the process.

*****Rini Chikongou *****Chuunin | Medic
"Well, that's comforting," Rini muttered under her breath, helping Yun lay down before answering Katsuro's question. "Whatever he just did messed up his chakra channels and caused various internal lacerations. The worst were in his lungs, but I've managed to stop the bleeding there so he won't drown." There was a wry twist to her words as she slung her bag from her back and dug out her notebook. "This is probably going to make you feel grand, sir, but I'm going to be learning as I go here, so wish us both luck, I guess." And prey to whatever little god you worship that it works. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Any time. She nodded sharply to Saotome, opened her notebook to the proper page, and got to work.
Chiyute No Jutsu: Karui (Healing Hands Technique: Minor) Description: The user concentrates chakra into their hands creating a ball of healing chakra. This chakra when concentrated will repair physical damage to another person. This is the first stage of Chiyute taught to all medical-nin, it is not possible to advance past stage three without this technique. The effects of this technique are limited to superficial cuts and injuries though it can reduce the severity of more serious injuries.
The lacerations in his lungs were not too deep, so she hoped this would do. She had to start with the minor, anyway, before moving on to the major that could deal with deeper damage. Rini memorized the hand signs, moving her hands through the sequence a few times until she had it down. She had to do this quickly, and there was no room for folly. [1/5]
Once she had the sequence perfect, she moved to the chakra flow. Before she attempted it, though, she ran another quick Diagnostic jutsu. The Blood Coagulation jutsu was still holding, and there did not seem to be anything worse going on in there, so she had time. Her hands moved and her chakra flowed through each sign, repeating the pattern over and over until the flow was adequate enough to try. [2/5]
Another diagnostic revealed no change. Good. Taking your time, aren't you? Shut up. Focusing here. Her hands moved through the signs again and she pushed her chakra outward until the tell-tale glow of green healing light flickered around her hands. Wait. It wasn't supposed to flicker. It needed to be steady. That would not do at all. [3/5]
Rini tried again. This time, the chakra was a bit more stable. She pressed her hands to Yun's chest, urging it to seep down and -- a voice cut into her concentration, and she lifted her gaze slightly to see the man and injured civilian. "He's got internal bleeding and a messed up chakra system -- definitely life threatening and more weighty than a broken arm." Still . . . with a slight grunt, Rini summoned up a water clone from a nearby broken water main and directed it toward the men. "Set the bone and bandage him up." The clone nodded sharply and got to work, allowing Rini to return to hers. [4/5]
After drawing a deep breath, she activated the jutsu again. "Chiyute No Jutsu: Karui." Green chakra flared and she closed her eyes, focusing it down down down until she could feel the scratch marks within his lungs. She swirled her chakra around the area, urging it to heal and -- to her delight -- the lacerations began to close. She grinned silently, continuing until his lungs were smooth once more. Perfect. *****Rini Chikongou *****Chuunin | Medic
Rini drew the back of her hand across her forehead and turned the page in her notebook. Okay. Next. In order to finish this, she needed to strengthen her Healing Hands jutsu. There were definitely things that the minor stage could not reach. Thus, she needed . . .
Chiyute no Jutsu (Healing Hands Technique) Description: A Ninjutsu technique where the ninja focuses chakra into the palms of their hands, creating a small ball of healing chakra. This chakra, when concentrated, can repair physical damage to another person. This is the more advanced level of Chiyute no Jutsu, used by Chuunin and is required to advance to level five. A Chuunin has learned to use Chiyute no Jutsu with greater control and efficiency and it is now possible to treat deep serious injuries that might otherwise result in death from bleeding.
Rini cracked her knuckles and leaned over Yun once more, activating the jutsu and resting her hands on his chest. The signs were the same. The flow was the same. She just needed it to reach deeper -- to heal faster -- to grow stronger. So, the young medic closed her eyes and poured everything she had into the jutsu. [1/5]
She started with the lungs, mentally tracing over where the lacerations had been and prodding with her chakra to make sure the healing was strong. It was holding. Good. Rini spread her chakra outward from that focal point, but as she did so, her sense of the tissue seemed to become fuzzy. She frowned. That would not do at all. [2/5]
Making sure to regulate her breathing, Rini slowly moved her left hand hand down Yun's chest, keeping her right over his heart. She could feel its steady beat, and with a gentle probe, it was clear that there was no damage to that particular organ. At least it remained strong. If it had not, then Yun would be in serious trouble. The stomach, however . . . how did her Diagnostic miss that? [3/5]
Oops? Hush! Rini dropped her right hand to join her left, pushing her chakra down and urging it into the tissue. Here, the injury was not on the surface. The ruptured chakra channels had caused damage much deeper. It seemed her Diagnostic had been fooled, somewhat, into believing it was not as serious. In reality, however . . . it would need to be dealt with immediately. [4/5]
Rini straightened for a moment, regaining her bearings before moving her hands once more through the now-familiar signs. This time, she did not immediately focus her charka into Yun's gut, instead she allowed it to pool in her hands, forming into the recognizable ball of healing chakra attributed to this jutsu. Smiling to herself, Rini pressed the ball down into Yun's stomach and urged it to flow through the injuries, sealing them quickly shut. [5/5]
