'Whatever,' Seto acquiesced begrudgingly, 'but if this turns into any sort of physical brawl you are on your own.'

((Hmm, I guess we'll see, but I just don't feel like expelling them from Heaven will do a whole lot if they still all have their angel powers. Plus we didn't see Cas fall (at least that I recall) to know for sure that his 'fall' was different. Them as a new supernatural problem, I don't know how much I like that idea. As for what Metatron specifically did with Cas's grace there weren't any details. For all we were told just removing an angel's grace was all that needed to be done for the third trial, not necessarily destroying it. They've never gone into a lot of detail in terms of how 'grace' works or what can be done with it. If it can be destroyed. Like with Anna they were trying to kill her and then take her grace, though take it for what purpose wasn't clear. We could assume they were just planning to destroy her grace after, but perhaps not. They very much seemed to want her separated from it, as they didn't put in tons of effort into killing her after she had it back, and angels are perfectly capable of killing angels. So I guess I assume they fell as not exactly angels, but maybe not necessarily human, I guess we'll see. Logistics of the angles haven't quite been hammered out well in this series, maybe that'll be rectified next season.))

"Pft, like you'd be any help anyway." Jounouchi rolled his eyes, more messing around at this point, trying to hide his nervousness.

((Well, the point was that Metatron didn't think the angels deserved to be in Heaven because of the way they acted in God's absence, so was punishing them by banishing them from their home. Since most of the angels seem to prefer staying in Heaven, it seems like a decent enough punishment. Forced in filth with the humans. I'm fairly neutral to the angels as a supernatural creature thing. I think it's the type of thing that could be done really badly or really well, so I would have to see it happen to decide. As for Anna, I think the reason they were more after her in human form were because she ranked above Cas and Uriel, so could defeat them both easily once she got her grace back. After that they gave up fighting her, but it was said in later episodes that she was still a fugitive from other, more powerful angels. But anyway, yeah, I'm mostly interested to just find out what became of them, and to have more angel stuff explained.))

The rest of the flight continued in silence. When they reached their destination Seto allowed Jounouchi to lead the way with him trailing quietly behind. When they arrived at Domon Tenchi's residence Seto turned to Jounouchi and asked, 'so, do we knock or wait for him to psychically sense our presence?'

((I get it being a punishment, but given how overpowered angels have been pointed out to be, I just don't see it being something that can be enforced without some stripping of powers. They were after Anna because she could hear the angels and as a human that made her a danger to them, but they did specifically want her dead as a punishment. Yes her being higher powered then them is probably why they didn't chase her as an angel, but they did specifically want her dead for betraying them. But why they'd both want her grace and her dead was never elaborated on. What use they'd have for a dead angel's grace was never specified. I'll try not to think too much about what's going on with the angels as that seriously could annoy me, but looking forward to seeing what becomes of Crowley.

I will leave playing Domon up to you as he's your creation. razz

Btw, moving house tomorrow and fairly certain we won't have internet the first week, so if I go poof for a bit that'd be why.))

Jounouchi snorted as he heard that, putting a hand over his mouth to keep from barking out a laugh. He smiled and shook his head before knocking on the door. The residence itself was surprisingly unimpressive. No, worse than unimpressive. It was a tiny, shabby apartment that seemed to be falling apart. Oddly enough, the area and complex it was located in weren't awful; they were fairly average. But this one room's entrance and the stairs leading to it were disgusting and felt cramped.

About a minute passed. Jounouchi had already knocked a second time, and was now about to give up, when the door finally opened. The man who stood there was short, even by Japanese standards, but extremely broad and fairly muscular. He remained hunched over, wearing a grungy tank top and jeans and looking up at the two taller men with distrustful eyes. However, by far his most distinct feature was that he was albino, with pale, blotchy skin, reddish eyes, and nearly white hair. "What do you want?" he asked after observing Jounouchi and Kaiba.

"Um... hi." Jounouchi blinked, a bit taken aback by the appearance, "We're friends with Isis, and sh-, he said you might be able to help us with a uh, magical problem?"

"I probably could." Domon crossed his arms, "I also probably don't give a s**t."

Jounouchi forced a smile on his face, twitching slightly in annoyance, "We have a lot of experience with ancient Egyptian magic." he tried to explain, "But this is different. We don't know what it is, but maybe we could do an information exchange?"

Domon smirked, obviously enjoying the annoyed blond trying to make nice, "Maybe we could. But once again, I really just don't give a s**t. I don't need others to provide me with information, unlike you lot."

((I'm not sure if Metatron cares about enforcing what happens on Earth, but once again, I'm just really interested to see more of his motivations and intentions. And I think they wanted Anna's grace either to destroy it or hide it away from her so she couldn't turn angel again, since it would be more difficult to kill her at that point. But it would be really cool if they could make use of the grace somehow, so wanted it to gain some kind of advantage.

Got it, good luck on your move!))

Seto stood their quietly while Jounouchi became increasingly flustered. He was incredibly tempted to make threats, his preferred method of dealing with any problem he couldn't buy his way out of, and he'd already ascertained Domon Tenchi was not a problem he'd likely buy his way out of. However, as much as he knew bribes would likely not be helpful, he couldn't imagine what threat he could make that would merit better results. So, with great difficulty, Seto bit his tongue and decided to let Jounouchi handle the talking a bit longer. At least until he could perhaps get a better handle on who he was dealing with here.

((There's a million different things they could potentially have said they could do with angel grace, but details have been lacking in regards to angels. I'm torn between wanting answers/specifications, and wanting them to just leave it because the answers might be more off-putting than anything. Sometimes the unknown is the most interesting. Guess we'll see though.

Thanks, not looking forward to it, especially as I'll probably be moving again in August or at least September. Renting a friends room for July while waiting to hear about Tom's masters (and we'll be in Wales most of July anyhow, so it's more a base for when I have to be here and a place to keep our stuff). On my own I can't afford the place, and if he stays we kind of want to live alone. However, might not have time to move in August before I go to Spain so it might be easier to move in Sept. Either way this is a temporary move which is a put offputting, but ah well. Hopefully it at least goes smoothly and quickly, we'll only be relocating a few blocks at the very least.))

Jounouchi couldn't help but glare at Domon at this point, talking through clenched teeth, "...then how do you get your information?"

"Experience." Domon replied, "And it seems like the two of you could use some more of it, so I'll leave you to your problem." he turned to retreat back into his home.

"Now wait just a minute! We did not fly all the way out here just to have you slam the door on us!" Jounouchi huffed, grabbing onto Domon's shoulder roughly.

The other man stood still for a moment, staring ahead, "...I would take your hand off me right now if I were you." his voice went dangerous.

Jounouchi hesitated, his fighting instincts battling with his nervousness and uncertainty. He began to loosen his grip for just a moment, before deciding to stand his ground, clenching his hand once more, "Not until you agree to at least hear us out." he said firmly.

Domon finally turned to look back at them, seeing the determination in Jounouchi's eyes, "...you've got some fight in you. The way you were acting, I thought you were a two-faced coward." he smiled smugly to himself, completely turning around to face them.

"What?! I'm not!" Jounouchi huffed in defiance, already at his last straw of patience.

((I think I definitely want answers. I'm someone who likes knowing and understanding every detail; I detest plot holes and unanswered questions.

Well that sucks. I mean, even if it's more of a base, you still have to move all of your stuff multiple times. Such is life I guess.))

Seto stared coldly at Domon while he interacted with Jounouchi, but still said nothing. Jounouchi seemed to be making progress though, so Seto contented himself with looking as unfriendly as possible while he awaited a moment in which he felt comfortable contributing to the confrontation.

((Sometimes I need plot holes filled, other times, while I want answers, I feel that the story/etc is not lacking in leaving a bit of mystery. I'll definitely take mystery (if it's not at the cost of resolution or a basic understanding of what is going on) over bad answers, plot fill for the sake of plot fill, etc. If the answer isn't good sometimes I feel I'm better enough not knowing it. Whatever happens next season I just want to enjoy it, esp as I'm not sure how many our left, that's about it.

Yea, we could maybe stay there but it's already seeming like doing so might be a bit of drama so I'm leaning toward no atm. We won't have internet at the house until the 14th, though I leave for Wales the the 5th and will be very busy over the next few days anyhow, so I'm okay atm. Currently on campus to try and do some work this evening and have a bit of net time. Exhausted though, and will probably pack up soon.))

"I just said you weren't." Domon rolled his eyes, "Alright, fine. I'll hear your story, but don't expect anything to come from it." he stepped aside, letting the two into his shabby room, "I wouldn't take your shoes off." he noted, though Domon himself was barefoot.

However, his warning was warranted; the floor was filthy and covered with various trash articles, including pieces of glass and some weapons. Jounouchi couldn't help comparing the place to his own apartment, which he realized with a note of shame, quickly burying the thought. He followed the other man in, tossing an old bento container on a chair to the side before sitting down.

((Plot holes usually bother me too much that I'd prefer them filled no matter what, even if the answer sucks. I like mystery a lot, but it needs to be a mystery that is completely answered by the end of the series.

Well then good luck on all the moving and traveling and such, and have fun on your travels!))

Seto still hadn't said a word, he was only partially able to hide his disgust as they walked into the hovel Domon called a home. Jounouchi cleared a space on a chair and sat down, Seto was unhappy to have even his shoes touching any part of this sty and decided to just stand next to Jounouchi's chair.

((I used to feel exactly like that, but too many terrible fills and ends have made me a little bit more forgiving having a bit of mystery left at the end. It's hard not to accept it in a lot of things these days as so many authors/film makers/tv series leave room to be continued nowadays. I would like more clean, definitive ends that aren't just geared towards more money making sequels. The aim for commercialism at the expense of quality and craft is a bit depressing.))

Domon took a seat across from Jounouchi, looking at the two men impatiently and expectantly.

Jounouchi glanced at Kaiba, then remembered he said he'd be the one doing the talking. So he went ahead and explained their story.

Domon listened quietly the entire time, crossing his arms. Once the story was done, he scowled, "You had to bother me just for that?"

"...just for that?" Jounouchi tensed, "This thing has tried to kill us multiple times! It's possibly gone after my family even!"

"You're alive, aren't you?" Domon shrugged, "It is simply trying to make your lives miserable, not kill you. At least to start with. That is what shikigami do."

"...shikigami? That's what this is?" Jounouchi's eyes widened. He had heard of them in folktales, but it just seemed crazy that anything from a ghost story could be real. He went pale. That meant it really was a ghost.

Domon nodded, "Granted, its activities seem to be a bit different than usual, but it fits the best. Usually shikigami only torment one person, whoever they're assigned to. They might go after the family of that person too, just to make things worse." he narrowed his eyes in suspicion now as he looked at the two, "...or their lover."

((Yeah, I guess I just wish overall that things were willing to end when it was time to end.))

Seto was agitated that Domon thought this was simple, and part of him wanted the arrogant man to be proven wrong; however, most of him just wanted an answer so they could find a quick solution. While Jounouchi seemed to at least be familiar with the term Seto was completely in the dark, although he did tend to avoid even tales related to the supernatural, much less indulge any of these stories as real. The family links could also be relevant, although he did have a few questions about how an 'assignment' worked. However, his train of thought was completely derailed when Domon got to the word 'lover.' Which unfortunately meant spluttering constituted the first thing Seto contributed to this meeting. 'Wha, I, we, no!' he struggled to spit out, having turned a rather unattractive shade of tomato red.

((I warned you I might vanish when I didn't have internet and was still around, then when I had internet I went poof. Had a lot to do in Wales before we got the house to ourselves. However, I'm back in Birmingham now for a week. But will have a nice country house to myself and the bf - a dog, a cat and 6 sheep - when I return on Thursday though. Found a place to live today. It's definitely not newly renovated, and a bit small, but probably not so small given it's just going to be Tom and me. So excited about the first place thing, even if it's rented and not properly owned, but still, our first place. xd ))

Domon looked over at Kaiba, suddenly grinning in satisfaction, "Relax; I'm not homophobic. It is not such a big deal."

Jounouchi had been remaining quietly confused until the homophobic comment, when he finally got what Domon had been implying. His face went a similar shade to Kaiba's, "We are not... that! We hate each other!"

"I know our country isn't the most open about gay people, but really, I'm just trying to help." Domon was having fun with this now, "I need all the facts if I'm to help you, so just be honest."

((Wow, congratulations! I'm glad you guys found a place. And also the country house with the sheeps and other aminals sounds just amazing. XD))

Seto could tell Domon was maliciously trying to be a jerk now, but he was too shocked by the implications of the insinuation to put the man in his place. 'No, no we aren't even friends, I don't know why this, shikigami, is going after both of us. But there is absolutely no connection between us, and certainly not that,' Seto asserted firmly, his voice pitched a bit higher than he might have liked, but at least he had ceased stuttering.

((Thanks. I'm hoping it'll be one of those great 'terrible' experiences you look back on and realise that no matter where you end up no place is as bad as that first place, or it all goes really well and we never have to have that experience. xd I'll let you guess which ones I'm really hoping for. As long as they deliver the double bed when we move in (there is a single atm but they said they'd switch it for me) and fix the freezer door it should be okay. But yea, the country house is lovely, which we could live in something like that. But that property is worth something like $600K, definitely not going to be in the budget anytime in the near future. Housesitting and a bit of relaxation will be nice though, although it's way too hot. I'm from CA so I shouldn't be complaining, but not dying in summer was supposed to be one of the upsides to moving to the UK.))
PostPosted: Sat Jul 13, 2013 11:46 pm

Domon put a hand to his chin as Jounouchi nodded in vigorous agreement with Kaiba, "Alright, then how is it the two of you encountered one another and realized you were both being haunted?"

Jounouchi considered, "...well... we both knew each other already because we've been in Duel Monsters tournaments together." explaining their actual relationship was enough to calm him some. When Domon stared at him blankly, he elaborated, "It's a card game. It's actually really big all over the world."

Domon didn't seem impressed, "Alright, so you two play children's card games together. A casual, albeit someone sexually tense relationship." he said as he thought it over.

Jounouchi flushed once more, "We are not... not sexually tense!" he huffed.

Domon just smiled to himself, "So if you did not spend much time together, how did you both find out you were in the same situation?"

((That would be really nice to live in a 600K farmhouse, but at least you get to stay there for a bit. But seriously, no complaining about the heat. Not even when you're in California. It will never be as bad as the heat in Arizona. XD))

Seto flushed further at the idea of 'sexual tension' between him and Jounouchi, however, he was not again reduced to a mumbling moron.

'A series of unfortunate events. We happened to both be in a cafe, not together, when anything odd perceptibly started. I suppose I was attacked first, but it's definitely shifted to both of us independently. Jounouchi's family has been attacked, unless their misfortunes are coincidental, which seem unlikely. My brother has not seemed to be a target as of yet. While I was as far as I can tell attacked first, it's definitely seemed to focus more on Jounouchi's family than on my own. For whatever reason it has trapped us together at times, which is why we have combined forces to work on this now,' Seto explained.

((I like Domon twisted

Hahaha, my friend whose living in the UK but who is from Mississippi says I'm allowed to complain because even she's hot here and the humidity in Miss in the summer is unbearable. I do agree I'd rather go sit in AZ 90-100 degree weather than go to Miss and deal with the hummidity, even if it's technically in the 80s. MI, FL, whenever I'm somewhere really humid it feels 100x hotter than it actually is. The UK is more humid than CA definitely, but it's nowhere near as bad as some of those palces. I still am missing spring though.))
