Oh, and StP, you said, "other people don't like to see their franchise turn into a movie were the director and producers turn it into a their own personal fan fantasy". Well, I think other people overglorify these directors then. Because as I see it, that is what it is, a piece of fan fiction brought to screen. I mean, what's the difference between that and going to some fan fiction site and reading a piece of god awful fan fiction? People stumble onto bad fan fiction all the time, they move on. Just because one of these fan fiction writers has become a movie director and has the means to execute it, doesn't make them any more important than anyone else. So all it comes down to is, you're WATCHING and HEARING the fan fiction instead of reading it. And if you don't like it, move on. Who cares if it's a movie or a shitload of written text? Other than that movies are better, I see no difference.
And like I said, if you expect too much out of "Live Action Dragonball Movie" which I don't see how you can expect too much out of a crazy idea like that, yes you'll be disappointed. What I'm expecting is great action, special effects, and some dragon ball stuff mixed into it. Just because it's different from the source material, doesn't mean it's gonna be BAD. Heck, Bulma packing heat sounds like a great idea!

Are you seriously suggesting that if they make a movie out of a beloved franchise, and if it's not staying close to the source material, that it's alright, you should just skip it it because it's the directors piece of fan fiction and if you don't like it, too bad? ******** no. ******** NO! This franchise doesn't belong to the God damn director, and he/she should ******** know that. He/She shouldn't make a movie that would suit only his own god damn needs and desires, lest he wants to piss off all the god damn fans who want to see what Dragon Ball really is on the big screen. You know, the cheesy action and story wouldn't piss me off so much if it just stuck to the real source material, and not make it a movie about a ******** prophecy and some 25 year old kid who has to battle an evil alien and have people never in the series be in the movie. I will not accept it, because a movie is way more important then god damn written fan fiction.
[EDIT] @Angela: I don't plan on ever getting a 360, so this is how I'll have to play it. sad

Biohazard EXTREME No, that's not all. Mortal Kombat also has more violence, which gives it points, I mean, come on. What better way to end a fight than with a juicy, bloody Fatality? Yeah, and take out the whole Fatalities novelty, and what has Mortal Kombat got on Street Fighter? Nothin'. It's got nothin'. Hell, even with them, it's still got nothing. And MK doesn't get more points just because a frikkin' pint of blood flies out of the back of the characters heads every time you punch them in the face. I'm not knocking the Fatalities, but MK's main gimmick doesn't really have much to do with it's gameplay, which is no where near as good as Street Fighter's. Go back and play the original MK, and then go back and play the original Street Fighter II. Which plays better? Which one's gameplay has pretty much stayed the same for nearly 18 years now because it's so good?
Biohazard EXTREME But more importantly... Street Fighter characters... Well, the male ones anyway, are so fugly! Guile, Bison, Zangief, Sagat, they all look like they have tree stumps for faces. And Ken is supposed to be a pretty boy, what's his excuse? .... are you being serious right now? "More importantly"? That's not important at all. Actually, it's completely irrelevant. Umm... who gives a s**t? I sure don't. And since when have you become such an advocate for attractive male characters in gaming? And I'd say Vega was the real SF pretty boy, but here's Ken:
Looks pretty enough to me.
So let me type this out again, so I can get it straight in my head... Mortal Kombat is better than Street Fighter, because MK is bloodier and more importantly, SF's male characters aren't attractive? Do you have some idea how ridiculous this sounds?
Can we see some real criticism now, please?
Biohazard EXTREME There's a non-ugly version of Street Fighter out there: King of Fighters, so I'll rather go and play that. Oh, King of Fighters. Yeah, that's a pretty good game. It's a lot like Street Fighter.
Hey, now that you mention it... isn't that a spin-off of the Fatal Fury & Art of Fighting series'? And now that I think real hard about it, wasn't Fatal Fury, Fatal Fury II, Art of Fighting, and pretty much every other fighting game SNK has done heavily inspired by Street Fighter II? And the gameplay and graphical styles are quite similar to SF as well, if I recall correctly. Matter of fact, I'd say that the games are nearly identical, and that KoF is a generic clone of SF. Isn't that the whole joke of the Dan character in the Street Fighter series? That he's a parody of all the generic clones of the Street Fighter characters that are predominant in all the SNK fighting games?
AngelaAshford Speaking of Chun-Li, did you hear they're making another movie? The original live-action movie was bad, but good in a campy way. I think The Legend of Chun-Li is going to completely suck. xp I saw that on T.V. last night! I was like, WTF? Another one? It's going to be horrid. The original was bad. Reaaaallllyyy bad. But yeah, I can see how it could work in a so-bad-it's-hilarious kind of way.

Biohazard EXTREME And like I said, if you expect too much out of "Live Action Dragonball Movie" which I don't see how you can expect too much out of a crazy idea like that, yes you'll be disappointed. I don't know about that. I think they did a damn good job with the first Live Action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, and I'd say that was a pretty crazy idea too. Furthermore, the original movie was very faithful to the original source material (the original Eastman & Laird comic book series, which the movie took a few of it's scenes directly from), while throwing in a lot of things from the cartoon that the kids loved. They could do the same thing with a Live Action DBZ movie if they really wanted to. I wasn't aware they were making a DBZ movie... that's sad. If you're going to make a movie adaptation of something, it's obviously going to appeal more to the fans than to the people who don't know anything about it, could care less about what is changed, and are just going to see an action flick with no emotional ties to the source material. As a fan, you want to see what you're a fan of. You don't want to see something drastically different (not to mention stupid), which makes you wonder why it has the DBZ name in first place, because it's not DBZ, and it's not worthy of the name. It'd be kind of like if the first Live Action Resident Evil movie turned out to be the story of RE4 (and RE4 didn't exist). The movies should be something made for the fans, that's pleasing to the fans.
Other than that, I agree with StP. Movies are a way bigger deal than some random idiot's fan fiction on the net.
@ StP: Cammy and Chun-Li. I like my fighting games like I like my porn: Women Only.
Okay, I'm kidding. I like straight porn too. Ryu's my main character, and I like Blanka and Fei Long. What? No Dee Jay? I thought everybody was coming back for the console version! gonk
