"We will get through this, won't we?" Ethin said quietly. Hopefully. He was sure he could. But he wasn't sure where Kiae was in this and that was the part that scared him the most.

She nodded imperceptibly, wondering if it was possible. They would be reminded of it until she gave birth and gave the child to the Tower for training, either as a Warder or Sister. "One for me, one for them," she thought bitterly, sighing.
"I want to," she murmured through her fingers.

"Then how do we go about fixing us?" Ethin asked somberly. Both of their negative feelings bouncing of each other in such a close proximity through the Bond were escalating the hurt they both felt. Ethin entered the Void, hoping to ease some of their feelings.

"I don't know," Kiae said helplessly, lowering her hands enough to glance at Ethin. She thought about saying that she'd never had to do it before, but it sounded stupid in her head. She sensed Ethin withdraw into the Void and panicked, thinking it was to close the Bond off in disgust.
Even while part of her wanted to stay away, she got up and moved next to Ethin, sinking to her knees and grasping a hand with one of hers. "Please don't leave me," she whispered.

Kiae's touch brought the Void crashing down on him, leaving him helpless to his feelings. "I would never leave you, Kiae. I thought by now I would have convinced you that I wouldn't," Ethin replied, his voice breaking from the effort of fighting back tears. Men did not cry. Especially not Warders.

She heard the struggle in his voice and dropped her head, ashamed to see the hurt in his eyes. "Don't cut me off," she pleaded softly, even while part of her wished Aes Sedai were able to enter the Void like their Asha'man counterparts.
"I..." Kiae stopped herself, unsure whether the words would soothe the man or only escalate his hurt.

Ethin shook his head fervently. "I wasn't trying to cut you off. I was trying to ease our pain. The Bond is escalating our feelings and I just wanted to soothe you in some way by taking away my pain from yours," he said hurriedly, trying to quell her worries.
"You.. what?" he asked, unsure of what she was about to say.

Kiae kept her head down, afraid to look at him still. "I love you," she said softly, her voice thick. "More than anyone else in my life."
"And I wish this was yours," she added silently, regret washing over her.

Ethin's eyes brightened at once and his heart skipped a beat. "I love you too," he said hurriedly, wanting the words out in the open as soon as possible. Ethin stood and brought Kiae to her feet and held her close, not wanting to ever let go.

Kiae's body relaxed and she clung to him, relieved by his reaction. She wished everything was different, that she wasn't an Aes Sedai, but knew that if she wasn't she wouldn't have met Ethin.
"By the Light, I thought I'd never be grateful to that damn Tower," she thought wryly, not sure what to say to the man holding her.

With Kiae in his arms, Ethin felt right with the world. But he wanted to be closer to her. He stepped back slightly and looked into Kiae's eyes. "Kiae.." he began but the urge to have his lips meet hers overcame him and he did just that.

Kiae blinked in surprise, but met his kiss with one of her own, closing her eyes as she let his emotions overcome her. She felt his hands begin to play with her laces as he dropped kisses on her neck and she gave in, melting against him as time seemed to stand still.
In his arms, Kiae found something she had never known was missing from her life. Her body met his easily, as if it knew something her mind did not. Feelings stirred deep in her and she gave herself to him without reservation, something that had never happened before.
She lay curled against him afterwards, not caring the room had grown dark.

Ethin held her tightly in his arms, basking in her beauty as he so very much loved to do. He reflected on what had just happened and smiled. What she just gave to him let him know that they would work through the news of her pregnancy. He could not help but smile.
"I love you so much," he whispered in her ear, unsure of whether or not she was still awake.

Ethin lay his head next to Kiae's and shut his eyes. Soon sleep took him away and he dreamt of the beauty that was Kiae and him together. Even in his sleep, he smiled.
