Well... this seemed like a lot better of an idea back when he was pissed off at Kaiba. Now it just seemed stupid. Jounouchi was completely and utterly lost in this huge, dark building. He couldn't just head back to the elevator. Like hell he would even step foot into one of those every again. But that left just the stairs, and he had no idea where they were. So he wondered the dark hallways, unable to make out enough to even read signs or maps. He could really only see silhouettes, and it was definitely creepy. He shivered to himself, noticing that that feeling of being watched was intensifying, now that he was once again alone... but there was no way in hell he was returning to Kaiba for help! Not after what that guy said...

After about ten minutes Seto decided he was bored with just lying around on the carpet. He might not need plush cushions to get comfortable, but it didn't mean he was often relaxed laying around doing nothing. Walking back into the hallway, he felt around his pocket for his keys. Although his card was a master, it was also an electronic device. This meant most of the offices and conference rooms on this floor were off limits to him.
What he had manual keys for, was the generator room on the roof of the building. He could climb back into the empty shaft and take the ladder almost all the way to the top. But, in what had to be some sort of fire code violation, only the service elevator could be taken up to the roof. Of course the service elevator didn't just extend one floor. No, this thing went from the roof to the garage, the longest drop in the building.
Seto stood in the elevator alley debating. Did he really want to climb up over ten flights, or just take the elevator all the way up? If he was going to have to take the elevator eventually, he might as well save himself the hassle and just take it from this point. Pushing the down button, he waited for the service elevator to arrive, he'd decided whether or not he could climb in when it got here.

As Jounouchi continued his wonderings through the halls, he felt more and more creeped out. This building was so not cool... he knew he was going in circles at this point, but he still couldn't seem to find the stairs! Did this building even have any? And suddenly it hit him: That elevator shaft had a ladder. He knew he could find his way back to that at least, and even though it would be a pain to climb down thirteen flights, at least he would be able to crawl into other floors to take breaks on the way. His mind made up, Jounouchi nodded to himself, hurrying back to the elevator, taking a path that went around the room Kaiba might still be in. He arrived to find the man's silhouette in front of the elevators. Blinking, he wondered if Kaiba had considered the same alternative he had, then frowned as he noticed the elevator buttons lighting up, "What the hell is wrong with you?!" he suddenly shouted, "Are you seriously gonna try to take an elevator again?!" he marched over to the man, his anger at the earlier comments now diminished, and instead replaced by anger at Kaiba's stupidity.

Seto smirked as the agitated blond materialized at his side. "What are the chances that two elevators will crash in one day?" he joked blithely, turning back to await the service shaft. At the very least annoying Jounouchi might make this suicide mission worth it. As the fuming man hadn't left, nor been able to find the words for a retort, Seto added, "any chance of restarting the power in this building rests in the generator room on the roof. True I could climb up the ten plus flights to the top level, but I'd still have to take the service unit onto the roof. The award winning architect who designed this death trap apparently felt stairs were not a necessary feature for accessing the roof. If I'm going to have to climb into this thing anyhow, I might as well just start down here," he finished, waiting for Jounouchi to speak or the elevator to arrive. Whichever came first.

"Tch, you'd be better off just taking the stairs. The longer you're stuck in that elevator, the more opportunities it has to crash down on you. I don't trust anything in this building with the power out like this." Jounouchi shivered, still looking quite creeped out by the ordeal, "...but hell, already come this far..." he mumbled, glancing at the elevator, "...guess I'll go with you. Just don't expect me to hold and comfort you if we do end up crashing to our deaths..." he was twitching his hands together a bit nervously. Truth was, he'd rather go on one of those dangerous elevators, with Kaiba of all people, than be alone in this place any longer.

"Trust me, you even try to hold or comfort me and I'll kill you before we hit bottom," Seto replied grinning, manic glint in his eye. At that moment the service elevator arrived and he stepped in, having an audience made the decision absolute, he couldn't back out now. Once inside the more reasonably proportioned tomb he spun around to see if Jounouchi really would follow.

Jounouchi didn't hesitate at all though, simply snorting in annoyance at Kaiba's comment as he walked in after the man, "I wouldn't have it any other way." he said with a roll of the eyes. He shut his mouth after that, glancing over at the closing doors, crossing his arms and hanging close to one of the corners. Sure, out of one dilemma and into another, but this dilemma he could at least mentally handle. Damn creepy office buildings forcing him to spend more time with Kaiba.

The elevator made it's way upward at a steady crawl, creaking and shrieking all the while. Seto noticed Jounouchi tense next to him and his smirk widened. "Relax loser, this elevator normally behaves in this manner." He knew this, although it still made him uneasy considering their experience earlier. Taunting made him feel bolder.
They were back in another elevator?! Did they actually want to die? These taunts were just too cruel. Still he resisted, at the very least his job was to extend Jounouchi's misery, he couldn't snuff him out so quick. Deciding not to repeat old theatrics he held back, drifting over to Jounouchi's corner, leaning his energies onto the boy both physically and spiritually. Time to see how much pressure would be needed to make him noticeably spook.

"W-well it's not like I knew that...!" Jounouchi snapped, glaring at Kaiba the best he could manage, considering his present fears. The teen then visibly shivered, actually letting out a bit of a 'brr' noise, though it sounded more bothered than chilled. This feeling... it was horrible... he just suddenly felt this huge amount of dread at their present situation, this dark pressure that seemed to pierce into his very soul. The feeling of being watched was finally gone. It was overtaken by the feeling of being overwhelmed by whatever had been watching him to begin with. Jounouchi suddenly stumbled forward, quickly bringing his hands up as he did so, one catching himself on the elevator wall, the other going up to his face in an effort to maintain his composure. He felt sick, and terrified.

Seto glanced over at his shaking compatriot. "Wonderful," he sighed mostly to himself, for what felt like the umpteenth time this evening. He bit back a scathing remark, Jounouchi had been nice enough to him when he'd been feeling infirm earlier. Not that he'd asked, not that he wanted him too, but still, it would probably be bad karma. Best save it until they were out of the elevator at least. Trying to sound less antagonistic than usual, he stepped slightly closer to Jounouchi, "Are...hey what's the matter with you?" Realizing his attempt at even neutrality was failing he rephrased, "are you ok?"

"Y-yeah, I'm... fine..." Jounouchi blinked to himself, forcing his body back up straight, swaying on the spot, "I... I don't know what came over me." he put on his usual smile, laughing nervously. However, the boy looked positively pale, beads of sweat going down his face and neck, goose flesh pricking from his skin. "Guess it's just a bit warm in here or something..." he mumbled the last part, looking away from Kaiba awkwardly. The last thing he wanted was to give his rival anymore reasons to mock him. He could put up with feeling a bit... strange like this.

"Really? You don't look fine," Seto asked skeptically. "It seriously does us no good if you are going to lie about your condition. I promise to...try and not mock you, if that's your concern," he finished tensely. Because I myself spent most of the evening collapsed and unnaturally ill, he thought privately to himself. His infirmity had been bad enough without admitting to it again now.

Jounouchi flushed to himself, partly taken aback by Kaiba's words, partly embarrassed for being so easily read. "Look, it's... I don't know what it is. I just felt weird all the sudden, but I'm sure it's nothing." he nodded, hoping to be more convincing this time. "Probably just tired from being up so early, you know?" he didn't know why he was still smiling as he said this. It wasn't necessarily more convincing to be smiling at Kaiba of all people, now was it? However, before he could finished this contemplation, the blond suddenly felt a jolt in his chest. It felt like that... that darkness... it was going through his lungs, and he could no longer will air into them. s**t, he seriously couldn't breathe! And now he was... falling onto his knees, and gripping at his chest. In reality, Jounouchi just seemed to be breathing especially deep breaths, but to him, it simply felt as if nothing was coming in.

Seto stared down at the figure heaped on the floor. He was severely discomforted. There was no longer a point to the health inquiries, but he disdained the idea of touching someone else almost as much as he disliked being touched. A semblance of decorum won out in the end though, and he kneeled down next to the slumped man. Placing a hand on each shoulder he shook Jounouchi slightly. “Hey, look at me,” he ordered, trying to force focus out of someone who was clearly beyond that momentarily.
Seto tried to think, his first aid skills weren’t exactly up to par. Why would they be? He had some of the best physicians in the world on instant retainer, and it’s not like he often planned for being trapped in an inaccessible location. “Maybe we should take this down instead,” he murmured, mostly to himself, “I can just leave you in the lobby and try and force the doors open without power.” Not likely, the materials in this building were freaking missile proof, because bomb proof just wasn’t enough. Furthermore the pressure on any of the entry mechanisms in this place would rival a full size passenger aircraft. But why sweat the details, he was Kaiba “I can do anything better than anyone else” Seto. Defying the laws of physics should be no problem.

"Look at me." were the only words Jounouchi managed to hear of Kaiba's musings. After that, the blood was simply pounding in his ears too much. He did as he was told, so desperate for air at the moment that he was willing to follow any command in hopes that it would lead to a solution to his dilemma. And there was his solution. Somehow, as he forced himself to calm down enough to look at the other teenager, the darkness within him seemed to... dissipate. No longer did his lungs feel bombarded and overflowing with that strange pressure, and he could now feel them expanding with air. All of this happened as he looked up into Kaiba's eyes. Somehow, the calmness that those blue depths possessed, the completely serious and collected gaze, it must've been enough to pull Jounouchi out of his hysteria, and to allow him to realize that he really was capable of breathing at the moment. With that thought, Jounouchi felt relieved. He didn't care at the moment how retarded that actually was, or how embarrassing it was to rely on Kaiba for something like that; he was just happy to be breathing normally again. He took in a final deep breath, then let out a strong sigh as he suddenly leaned his forehead against Kaiba's shoulder, just... needing something to lean against right now until he recovered.
