"Because he was afraid of change...and he liked the constant fighting, said it was good to 'impress the females' or something like that." Sanoskue spat a little angrily, feeling the rage of his past returning.

Kanti whined softly and pressed her nose gently against Sanoskue’s. “Hey…calm down, it’s okay.” She licked his nose and laid her head on his paws. “I wish I knew how to make it better…”

Sanoskue's expression softened, "There's nothing you can do, nothing anybody can do really." He said as he looked towards the sky, watching the clouds blow along above. "You don't think I'm crazy do you?"

Kanti lifted her head and tilted it to the side, studying him curiously. “Why on Earth would I think you’re crazy Sanoskue? You’re perfectly sane. Probably more so than me.”

Sanoskue kept his gaze towards the sky, "Because, all my life I've been told I'm crazy, insane, and in one kind case, an abstract thinker."

“Why do they call you that?” Kanti asked. The sun was starting to sink behind the trees and the wind had begun to pick up, whipping around the two wolves briskly. Kanti shivered and pressed against Sanoskue’s side, hiding her face from the cold in his warm fur.

"Because I don't want violence between the clans...I may enjoy a good fight, but when the fate of an entire clan, including pups, is on the line, then it's going to far." Sanoskue wraped himself around Kanti slightly and rested his head ontop of hers.

“But that’s logical. Nobody should want war between clans. It doesn’t help anyone.” Kanti sighed softly. “I don’t understand the way most pack leaders think. Why would anyone want to risk their friends, family, pups?”

"I don't know...all I know is, The Silver Creek clan won't be around much longer...if it even still is." He looked towards the doe's corpse and sighed, the meat was frozen but still edible. "How about some dinner?" He asked hungrily.

“Sounds good,” Kanti said softly. She carefully moved forward and tore off a large chunk of meat and promptly turned and laid it in front of Sanoskue. “Eat,” she told him as she worked at tearing another chunk off for herself.

Sanoskue chuckled softly, "Yes mother." He joked before tearing into his hunk.

Kanti stuck her tongue out at him before dragging her piece with her as she curled up next to him and began to eat. Her tail wagged slightly and tossed up wisps of snow behind them.

Sanoskue finished his piece, and waited untill Kanti was done with hers, then stood up with a stretch and a yawn. "We should head into the den soon, it's going to be cold tonight."

Kanti nodded and carefully stood, swaying slightly. “I’m fine,” she growled softly, gritting her teeth, directed more at herself than at Sanoskue. “I can do this,” she muttered as she started to slowly walk towards the den.

Sanoskue walked along side her with a worried expression on his face, "You sure you can handle it on your own? I don't want you to hurt yourself any more than you already are you know." He said softly.
