Nathan smiled at Melissa, filling his plate as well. He put a couple of hot dogs along with some broccoli and carrots on his plate. "Still can't see how you can go without meat in your diet Melissa. Protiens are what you're lacking as a vegetarian."

Nathan had been paying attention to the questions their parents were asking, getting the hint of the future. "So, is there something I need to know about? Something in the near future?"

Nathan listened as Melissa spoke, somewhat surprised by what she had said and yet, he had been expecting it. "Well, you did say you wanted to go college as soon as the school year was over," he says, staying relatively calm about it, "I guess we won't be seeing one another for quite sometime."

Nathan coughed a little, gladd that he hadn't been eating anything when she said that. "That is soon. Glad you said something now. Would have liked a little more of a heads up though." He could understand how Lizzy was feeling, it was a sudden thig to say.

Nathan nodded at Melissa, smiling. "I'd be glad to see you off tomorrow with a smile," he says, smiling as Lizzy asks to be excused. He had a idea why she wanted to be alone for a little while, but this kind of thing was best with someone to cry on. He finished his food not long after she left the room. "May I be excused as well? I'd like to make sure she is feeling alright. This is just as hard on her as it is on me."
