It was indeed difficult to ignore Yuri's antics with all the attention he had garnered in their execution, and it the idea of being shown up by a dude who looked like a chick - more than him even - was just a bit sour. And so he responded to Seraphine's suggestion with a positive "hell yeah," making his way in that general direction with his partner.

When Nate agreed, Sera smirked lightly and followed him to the circle that some random person she didn't know just entered. He wasn't doing too well though, all things considered. They weren't the only ones gathered around to watch, though, and she frowned as someone lightly bumped into her. She moved closer to Nate's side, raising a hand to his arm, in the hopes it would prevent such a thing from happening again.

It didn't.

Luckily they were accidental and infrequent, so she ignored them in favor of watching as the stranger in the circle was winding down in his dancing. "I hate to admit it," she said to her partner, "but I think Yuri's set the standard for this." And she really hated to admit it, considering she still disliked him to some degree.

Nate made a face. "Time to ********' set the bar higher then," he declared, all arrogance consuming his words. Taking hold of Seraphine, he pushed his way into the center on the heels of the less than impressive dancer that preceded him. Nate wasn't anything of a professional, certainly, but he had a good bit of experience in this kind of thing and had danced with Sera frequently enough to have some understanding of how best to complement her movements.

Emil blinked and looked back at Akira as he made that observation then asked him a question.

"Well..." he said quietly. "Luke has always been kind to me. He's helped me a lot."

And really he has. If it wasn't for Luke, he didn't know what he'd be doing right now. He might have gone crawling back home. Emil was certainly counted as one of those runaways, but not a rich one.

He then watched with a questioning tilt of his head as Akira then wrote on a paper, folded it into a plane, then tossed it. "What was that?"

"Sounds good to me," she agreed as she followed him eagerly into the circle. Her experiences in such circumstances were limited, but she'd had a great deal of experience over the past couple of years due to how frequently she went to clubs, and it helped that she had a bit of experience with dancing with Nate by now. She let him lead, since joining in had been his idea in the first place, and did her best to match and complement his moves - though there was no way she was doing any hand stands of any sort; not in a dress, at any rate.

The energy on the floor was fantastic! The clubbers really getting into the dancing, and cheering along as people would go up and display their talents in front of everyone.
As the girl they had greeted for her birthday and a boy stepped up there was another roar of applause. Though most of the enthusiasm was probably mostly geared toward the fact that there was a girl who really knew how to move showing off her moves.

Bruce was grinning as he watched the dancers, head bobbing as he kept up with the music he was playing for the clubbers. Setting up new songs on the playlist, since he was done editing for the time being.
Though, something flew up onto his platform.
the DJ picked it up, opening the paper plane and reading the note.
turning it over to see where it was from he turned his blue eyes up toward the VIP section. Holding a thumb up and fiddling with his systems again.

"I see," Akira replied to Emil. That information coupled with the fact that both Rosie and Sera were so close to him said a lot about the infamous Luke. It was really a shame that he had to have gone through such trying times, but good, at least, that he had such good friends to get him through them. There was no better way to find out who were true friends and who weren't than the hardships that came with life.

"Hm? Oh, just a request to the DJ," he answered the blond teen, chuckling. "Want to send one? There's some more paper on the table."

At Bruce's glance upward, Akira put two fingers up to his forhead and gave a casual salute in thanks before nodding his head toward the dancing pair not too far from him and Emil. He may not have known the DJ personally, but he had gotten the impression that he'd been related to Rosie from all he'd seen and heard.

Leaning forward on the railing, he smiled down at the couple now converging on the space that Yuri's breakdancing had made. This would be fun - possibly just in time for his requested song.

Rosie would tell a big difference in his movements as they continued to dance.
She could almost pinpoint the time when he stopped thinking about the movements and just went with it.
This delighted her, and it showed in her own dancing, while still following his lead.

It was a shame when the song ended, but it ended on what Rosie felt was a high note, no emptiness, just a swell of delight that a good dance with a good partner gave.
The blond let out a giddy laugh, taking one last spin that moved smoothly down into a bow when the song ended.
"Thank you Luke" The girl expressed as she straightened back up to look at him.

Expecting it to go into the next song, only there was a pause in the music, and Bruce spoke, as the next song started a few seconds after.

Blinking, Rosie glanced over to her uncle.

"Alight! We've got a request in, its not request time yet folks, but this is a special case! This one's for you birthday girl, with this little note tagged to it."
The DJ read allowed as the song got started
""Beginnings are usually scary and endings are usually sad, but it's everything in between that makes it all worth living. Happy 19th, Seraphine, and thanks for being such a good example to us all on how to live life to its fullest.""

This more or less put to shame all the formal, uninspired dances he'd been required to undertake on his father's agenda. Were he more aware of the greater picture, Luke might have noticed with some relief and appreciation that for once the shadows of his worst memories didn't darken his thoughts or features. As it was, he could only regard Rosie with a smile warmer and brighter than any he had worn as of late, dipping his head in a simple nod as reply. His attention was drawn towards the main floor at the announcement, listening to the words and music prepared for Seraphine as he spotted her in the center.

The cheering had been expected, considering the circumstances and the fact cheers were heard for the other dancers before them, and Sera definitely liked it and responded to it in her movements. Said movements slowed as the music faded away and suddenly there were words -- words directed at her. She spun in a half-circle to face the DJ booth and continued to dance, though obviously not as focused at the moment.

She wasn't sure who the message was from, but specifically who didn't matter - it was from one of her friends, surely, and she did indeed live life to the fullest. At the end of the message she raised her hands in the air, and as the song began she threw herself back into the music and back into her well-practiced moves, most specifically, her favorite moves to try and show off with her partner.

It helped that she was thoroughly enjoying herself now. She hadn't expected her birthday to do anything like this, but she was so very glad it was, and such emotions showed plainly on her face.

Nate slowed as well, responding both to Seraphine's defocus as well as the unexpected announcement from the DJ. Grinning, he watched her respond to the dedication and throw herself back into the dance, easing off on his own ostentatiousness to allow his partner to take spotlight.

When Nate appeared to back off a little rather than try to match her movements, she interpreted that as a cue for a little solo performance. Though it was unexpected, she didn't mind it even a little, and she moved away to allow herself more room to dance and show off her own moves.

She allowed herself the fun of hogging the spotlight for a minute, letting go and dancing as if she felt like the queen of the club - which, to be perfectly honest, was exactly how she felt - before her movements naturally brought her back to Nate to either continue in the circle or back out for a break.

Emil blinked when Akira asked if he wanted to send in a request. "Huh? ... Oh, no... I don't really... know any songs," he said with perhaps a little bit of shame. He was content enough to just sit here and watch, and listen to everyone else having fun around him.

When Rosie and Luke stopped dancing, and the music began to change with the announcement from the DJ, Yuri turned his attention back to the dance floor. With a hand on his hip once more and a little amused smirk on his face, he now watched as Sera showed off her own moves. Not bad.

Yuri wasn't the only one at the bar. Ray looked onto the dance floor as Sera showed off,
"I'm guessing those moved you pulled out there are more intended to be kicking someones a** huh?" She spoke to Yuri, "I always knew you were a fighter but damn, those were some pretty impressive feats of agility, remind me not to pick a fight with you anytime soon."
She grinned and nudge him.

Everything about that moment was just perfect, there wasn't anything that could bring it down, nothing.
It had been a long time... If ever really that Rosie had ever seen Luke smile like that and the affect was more uplifting then she could have expected.
She burst out a small giggle that just couldn't be contained. Putting hand to her cheek and beamed back at him.
"That was fun!"

The song played out its length, the request Akira had made. Bruce cheered with the rest of the room, before he started up the standard club mix.
Rosie had moved over to the railing during the song, watching Sera dancing in one of the circles. Once the song was over she cupped her hands by her mouth
"SERA!"
