League Trainer Rosie

It had been announced that they were now in what Petra made mention of passing into a security premiere.
Rosie felt her heart leap, and she leaned back into her seat, hands on either side of her legs.
They were getting closer, this was Rocket territory then?
She barely had time to wrap that around her head though when the can started to shake, and practically lurch up from below them.

Startled, and having no idea what just caused that, her firs thought was that the Rockets had some kind of safety in place to keep out intruders, that was until she saw the spray of sand, and the massive ground times within it.

Reaching out to either side of her, gripping what she could of her friends as the Hippowdon made it very clear they did not like this vehicle.
"And, that is certainly a challenge" She gasped as the van finally stopped moving and they were leaping out to attack.

Goggled pressed to her face, securing her eyes a hand moved to her hip, snatching up her Luxery ball and tossing it out as she stepped into a flury of sand.
"Alright Vahy'n-"

The water type flattened her fins against the blasting sand, but lifted her tail high in defiance.
"Hydropump[/b,] what Petra says, try and drive them back!"
It didn't help the shaking ground, as violent geysers of water erupted from the sand aimed for the foremost Hippowdon.

He wondered briefly if maybe volunteering to help was a bad idea. Not because he was afraid for his well being or any other such nonsense but because...he would be expected to work in a group.

...Andre didn't do group work.

"Espeon!" He was brought out of his thoughts by a hard nudge to the chest just before the van jerked and came to a screeching halt. "Play time, Velencia." He murmured with a smile as he swiftly unbuckled himself and moved to exit the van. His pokemon settled herself across his shoulders as he snapped his goggles into place, "Future Sight." The dark pokemon braced herself as he hopped out of the van to face the enraged Hippowdon. He needed to get near a dark type while simultaneously keeping an eye out for ice, water, and grass types.

And there.

He noticed Rosie bringing out her Vaporeon. "Velencia, use Helping Hand to assist that Vaporeon." He ordered and the Espeon immediately leaped from his shoulders and darted over towards the pair, though he wasn't far behind.

The black Hippowdon bellowed at both Gloria and the Bouffalant, stumbling backwards at the combined efforts of the two pokemon, but mostly by the Victreebel's Vine Whip attack.

Meanwhile, the tan Hippowdon was rushed at by a large, shiny Arcanine, and roared at it before being struck almost immediately after by a Leaf Tornado. Growling in anger, the ground-type ignored the tiny Jeeves and instead locked his focus on Aurora as he leaned forward, sand erupting from his back in an attempt to trap the Arcanine in place with Sand Tomb. No sooner had he shot his attack when a Hydro Pump erupted nearby and shot at him. Two super effective attacks, coupled with a normal attack sent him stumbling backwards with an irritated grunt, though for now, he was still standing.

Two Hippopotas cried out as a chilling wind whipped across them and stumbled back, and one rushed forward towards the Sneasel - the other attempted to do so, but its progress was impeded by a sudden number of seeds latching onto its face. "Potaaah!" It shook its head as it stumbled back, then turned to rush towards Moriko in a Tackle.

The four remaining Hippopotas, finding themselves unoccupied, immediately surveyed the area and focused on a single target - the one with the type weakness. All four of them disappeared under the sand and headed straight towards Aurora.

Alder pulled another pokeball out now that the black Hippowdon was away from the van, and sent out his Vanilluxe who used Blizzard. The former champ took a moment to glance around, and couldn't help but notice the four burrowing pokemon all headed for the same opponent. "These.. seem rather focused and coordinated," he noted aloud through his sleeve, his brow furrowing. "A little too much for wild pokemon."

Jeeves hadn't been given any instructions beyond the silent command, thus he considered his only option was to continue using the attack he'd been told to. It was something they'd trained before- rely on the last command given- and with the Hippowdon apparently not paying him much mind, nor its Hippo-y friends, it was easy enough to flip, once more and aim another Leaf Tornado at the creature.

Maybe it hadn't been a good idea to ride Moriko into battle... Or maybe just not to split his team.
Either way, Lin found himself alarmed by the charging Hippopatas coming his way.
Moriko took the tackle in her stride, but Lin found himself 'unhorsed'... or... un-deered?... and landing with a roll in the sand.
Spitting sand out, he at least issued the Sawsbuck with another attack.
"Double Kick!" He could already feel bruises; who knew sand wasn't 'soft' for landings?

As her opponent locked its gaze on her, the Aurora let out a low growl and blasted forward through the attack and aiming to slam into the Hippowdon anyway. While her attack seemed successful, the arcanine was trapped in the spinning sands, letting out a roar.

Dove watched with some difficulty as the pokemon maneuvered, her eyes just quick enough to catch sight of the four moving in on her fire type all at once. Careful not to inhale sand, the girl called out, "Aurora, move!"

[Everyone]

Petra, who had extracted a compact monocular from her pocket and taken to keeping vigil while the trainers drove off the pokemon threat, suddenly cried out over the din of battle, "Unidentified vehicles to the north! Hurry and wrap this up; we're pursuing!"

((Forward progress will stop here for tonight! Feel free to continue battling tonight and tomorrow up to the raid's resumption; we'll be responding to posts periodically throughout the day tomorrow and will pick up with events in the evening.))

The goggles kept the sand out of her eyes, something she was immensely grateful for, able to keep them wide open as she watched her pokemon, scanning the battle field.
holding an arm up over the lower half of her mouth she picked the next target. "There next,"
Rosie called to her Vaporeon.

The water type looked to the only ground type left on the surface, though golden eyes peeled to the ground were the four had vanished under. "Vapor! Por!"
"They're using dig."
Rosie looked over to the trapped fire type. That... was not going to end well, and Vahy'n didn't know any attacks that could attack the underground pokemon. until they surfaced there was nothing she could do to help
Closing her hand, she kept an eye on the fire type,
"Vahy'n, Aurora Beam on the tan one"

Opening her mouth, a breath of fog escaped the pokemon's mouth, and a colorful beam shot shot forward in an elegant display, the chilling beam crackling and ice extending from its beam.

Team Rocket pokemon, The League officials came to that conclusion, so this was for safety... The thought was a little scary, but it just meant they were better trained then wild pokemon.

An Espeson that sh recognized from before moved to join Vahy'n as she started her attack. helping to increase the beam's power.
Rosie looked over to Andre, giving him a thanking smile.

Leste hovered near the the swirling Sand Tomb uncertainly, beating her wings in an effort to disrupt the trap. Her efforts were to no avail, and she squawked in helpless distress. She turned her frustrated energies towards something more productive, rounding on the tan Hippowdon and joining Vahy'n with an Aerial Ace.

The Hippopotas let out a sharp cry as it was kicked away, but it quickly righted itself - except the previous Leech Seed sapped some of its energy away. Shaking its head once more, the small ground-type charged towards Moriko and this time, aimed to land a sharp Bite on the Sawsbuck.

The tan Hippowdon, seeing his Sand Tomb successfully trap his target, loosed something akin to an amused chuckle. Abandoning the fire-type, it instead focused on Jeeves instead, rushing towards it, but found his progress halted when he was struck by an Aurora Beam, and he stumbled to the side with a grunt. He shook his head again and lurched forward uneasily, but resumed his unsteady progress towards the Snivy, intent on attacking it despite his dangerously low health. A sudden, unexpected Aerial Ace from above struck him and literally knocked him off his feet, and with a fading groan the large pokemon passed out.

Petra's sudden announcement pulled Alder's attention, and he frowned at the situation. "Everyone, be careful! These are most likely Team Rocket pokemon!" He didn't need to repeat what she just said about hurrying to wrap this up. That said, Vanilluxe shot another Blizzard at the black Hippowdon, and with a groan, the large pokemon stumbled backwards before collapsing on top of the sand.

The four Hippopotas erupted out of the sand all around Aurora in a tag-team Dig attack, their anger rising as they noticed the larger pokemon had fallen already.

Dove watched helplessly as the four used dig, but found her eyes widening as Aurora let out final fire blast in attempt to at least lessen the blow, if not drive them back a little. However, the dig hit first, and with a low, strained growl, the arcanine collapsed.

The trainer's hand moved to her belt, taking the luxury ball from it's place and called the fainted Pokemon back, unsure of what to do next.

The Leech Seed proved to be a blessing for Moriko, for the short moment anyway, as she felt herself heal just a little. It was enough that, although the Hippopotas' bite struck and hurt quite a bit, it fell just short of taking her out of the battle.

Lin let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding as Moriko remained standing, but he knew the Sawsbuck certainly wouldn't hold up to another attack without aid.
They had to finish this though; he heard the report ring out of an unidentified vehicle and his determination locked into his heart.
"Moriko! One more Double Kick!"

Jeeves braced himself as the lumbering Hippowdon began to come toward him. He'd never had to fight out in the open like this, away from the forest, and he didn't remember trying to fight anything quite this scary before without it being a fire type.
Two other pokémon took the Hippowdon out; Vahy'n and Leste. With a blink, and a slightly comical brow wipe, the Snivy then threw a salute vaguely in the direction they'd attacked from.

Definitely too coordinated for wild pokemon, and vehicles in the distance. A neckerchief was not exactly the height of fashion but knowing where they'd be headed Dith had acquired a dark blue one and worn it regardless. He was glad of it now, pulling it up over his nose and mouth as the sand swirled and stung against any exposed skin. "Viktor, Psychic one of the Hippopotas! Luna, Helping Hand, boost his power! Zla, Teazer, Shadowball and Faint Attack another one!" Luckily so far the enemy pokemon were focused on their pokemon, who were much better equipped to deal with it than any of the trainers present.

With the Arcanine taken care of, the four Hippopotas turned and looked for their next target --

But three of them found themselves hit by various attacks first; two nearly fainted, but remained upright, one stumbled and the last remained unharmed thus far. The four of them split into two pairs and rushed towards two new targets - one pair headed straight for Viktor and the second pair headed for Luna, with both pairs readying the same attack for each target: Bite.

The Double Kick sent the Hippopotas tumbling backwards again, but it managed to stand very unsteadily before stumbling clumsily towards Moriko, readying one final attack -- but forgot about the Leech Seed again, which suddenly sapped what little strength it had left, and the small Pokemon dropped to the sand mid-step.

The sixth Hippopotas similarly dropped, after yet another Icy Wind from Agatha. That done, the Sneasel charged the downed pokemon, only to find herself suddenly recalled back to her ball before she could make a meal of it.

Two of the remaining enemies were headed straight for Viktor. Dith clenched his fists and whistled sharply to break his pokemon off from their previous attack patterns. "Victor! Yawn one of the ones after you to sleep! Teazer, Faint Attack the other one after him! Zla, Shadow Ball it and Luna boost him with Helping Hand!"

The quartet wasted not time in carrying out their orders.

Viktor fixed one of the two with a glowing golden gaze and yawned lazily, projecting a wave of weariness into his enemy's mind. No sooner had he done that however than the pair struck him with vicious bite attacks. The psychic type cried out in pain, reeling on his paws and struggling to shake them off.

Teazer meanwhile broke off from where she had been seeming to vanish in thin air only to reappear behind the other Hippopotas after Viktor mid leap. She landed on its back with a hiss as it charged Luna, savaging it fiercely.

While Zla took aim at the ground type Teazer was already attacking Luna began to glow with a soft blue light. After a few moments a beam shot out from the gem on her forehead and struck Zla, transferring the aura of power to him. A moment later it was her turn to take the two bite attacks, and significantly lower level than Viktor she was left barely standing.

Chuckling under his breath the ghost released his attack, launching a red-black ball of shadowy energy - surrounded by the blue glow of Luna's Helping Hand - at the Hippopotas' head.
