Thomas rolled his eyes. "It's kinda hard to miss the civilians continuously muttering 'Hyuuga heiress with the demon' and 'Hinata-sama'," he said dryly as he noticed the looks Ino and Sakura shot at one another. He was far from stupid though he tended to act oblivious at times just to screw with people. Ino frowned. "But how would they know about that? Naruto-baka hasn't told anyone but Hinata, Lee, and us, no offense, Sasuke-kun," she said wryly.

Thomas smirked slightly. "Don't know, don't really care... I don't have much tolerance for stupidity, though," he said blandly, glancing towards Naruto. His hand shifted slightly as Bōkura abruptly seemed to jerk from the violet haired ANBU's hands and flew into his hand which gripped the sheath loosely just below where the tsuba crossguard was. "I will warn you, I have unorthodox tricks," he said with a slight shrug, deciding to keep what 'tricks' he was referring to to himself for the moment.

With a heavy sigh, Naomi rubbed her temples. Sasuke didn't look too offended. However, Naomi doubted he was paying attention to anyone but her. His soul piercing eyes were trained dead on her like she was a rabbit cornered by a fox with no way out. "I figured it out when I heard you two talking when you thought I was asleep." Naomi quipped. "Plus the way he gravitates to her on instinct kinda gave it away too." She gave a mild shrug. "But hey, I could've been wrong."

"Hn." Sasuke grunted with a smirk. His expression was amused.

"You over value my lack of expertise." Naomi growled. "But I admire your faith in me."

Thomas snorted softly. "That's amusing as hell. Could be less obvious though. I get the feeling that, if the supposed kidnapping I heard mentioned was Hinata, then it could have just as easily been a trap for both Blondie and her," he said dryly, deliberately insulting Naruto just because he would overreact in an amusing way.

Three. . . Two. . . One. . . Naomi counted slowly then moved to the side as the blonde roared and made to tackle Thomas, however, as she moved to the side, she moved on the ball of her foot so he got a gut full of her closed fist. Whispering in Naruto's ear. "Touch my friend again, and I'll kill you." She knew only he could hear but his reaction was sweet. She shoved him back to his Fiancee and dusted her hands off. "I'm going to get a drink, anyone coming?" She asked with a kind polite smile though there was something cold about it too.

Thomas rolled his eyes. "Come on, I'm certain the idea has crossed your minds. I can tell that while Blondie is obviously hot-headed, it's painfully clear he's among the strongest in this room. If I sought one of the stronger kunoichi through kidnapping, why not try to take out any strong assets close to them?" he said dryly. He personally hated kidnappers, rapists, and liars alongside child abusers and therefore would never entertain the idea of doing so. Ino blinked a couple of times, slight tears gathering in her eyes as Thomas, for a moment, reminded her of her father. He's likely as smart as Shikamaru to realize something like that from hearsay, she reasoned.

"So, if nobody else would prefer to escort Naomi-chan, I'll do it," Thomas said dryly, standing from the bed, pausing as he stared at Naruto. "I normally have tolerance for 98% of people, but push me too far, and Naomi-chan will be the least of your troubles. She'd just give you a new airway through your neck or skull... me, I'd humiliate you, then take your head and use it for a soccer ball," he said in a cool, emotionless voice he knew would startle Naomi from the flat monotone and emptiness in his eyes. This was a side of himself that didn't surface often, but it was close to that of a hardened warrior.

"Hey," Naomi said going to his side putting her head on his shoulder. "None of that." She whispered in English. They'd been friends since they were kids for a reason, she was the only one who could stop him when he was like this. His parents couldn't control him nor could anyone else. She alone could calm him when he was like this. "Let's knock back some alcohol hm?" She purred with a smile taking hold of both his hands. She knew Sasuke was watching but didn't care. Her best friend needed her. She wouldn't abandon him. She made sure to draw his eyes. Though they were only friends, and she'd accepted that long ago, she knew if she pulled the right expression he'd snap out of his strange behaviour.

"Be back by six." Sasuke grunted. "Ino, go with them, I'm sure they'll need extra clothes and things like that."

"But-" Ino whined.

"They'll pay you back when they get jobs." Sasuke growled glowering at her.

"Fine." She sighed. "My shift ends in an hour we'll get started then."

Thomas glanced momentarily towards Sasuke. "She will return when we feel like doing so, pùta, as you certainly look nothing like her old man," he stated sarcastically. He doubted Sasuke would grasp the Spanish insult for 'b***h', not did he care. "I swear, if someone else points out something obvious, they're gonna be tasting leather," he muttered, allowing his more jaded side to recede. He knew his old teacher who had passed away six months before would have been quite amused by this interaction. On his inner left wrist that he offered Naomi was a hexagonal tattoo which had a gray border with a golden background and a crossed crown and spear in dark blue with a black crane flying behind them. He had never told Naomi what it symbolized nor that a ring with the same markings, made of ivory, steel, and gold, hung around his throat. He knew that the braided leather band around his temples was part of it.

"You know my father never gave a crap about me." Naomi growled. "You know what, I'm going on my own, have fun." She turned and bag in hand, stalked out the door of the room and out of the hospital again. She couldn't take it when he got all aggressive like that. He wasn't her boyfriend, he didn't have any of those partner rights.

"Oi!!" Naruto's voice carried behind her. "Wait up!"

Naomi paused for a moment knowing his fiancee was following just to make sure, then kept going. She didn't know where she was going. She was just. . . going. One quirk about her was that she usually went walking, and got lost, while she was stressed. But she had her guns so she figured she was all right. For now.


"Now look what you've done!" Sasuke hissed at Thomas turning to go after her.

"Hey, I'll go." Naruto had said."She's not mad at me." Then he had left.

Thomas gritted his teeth, his eyes narrowing at Naomi's words. He turned away sharply, ignoring how Sakura's hand darted at his shoulder to grab him as he shifted his weight just slightly so her fingers missed his clothing and his skin. He didn't speak, but simply pushed off in one sudden and fluid movement without a thought, keenly aware how fluid and outwardly deliberate even the slightest shift in weight appeared. He landed with a crunch a dew yards from the exit of the hospital as Naomi exited. "You don't know where it came from, do you? My teacher in the sword was more a father to me than that son-of-a-b***h whose blood runs through my veins," he said in a cold monotone. "He left me everything he owned. The sword I own, the skills I have... came from him; all I have to remember him is one thing," he said, pulling free the heavy and intricate signet ring which seemed to glow with an unusual bluish white unearthly flame, which within the Void deep in his mind, interested him. The leather thong holding it abruptly snapped with a sound like a bowstring snapping as it floated a few inches from his chest.

Naomi turned her eyes to Thomas for a moment. "At least you had a father figure!" She replied in English. She knew Naruto was there to try and calm things down. The way Naomi was rubbing her thigh though. . . "I can't talk to you when you're like this Thomas. Just leave me alone!" She turned and continued to stalk away leaving Naruto to figure out which person to go to.

Thomas' hand flicked up, closing around the ring though he almost immediately released it as the marking of a heron burned into his palm, the pain radiating over the surface of the Void in the form of a brilliant crimson web. What followed, however, did worse as the heron seared itself into his other palm before the ring slid itself over the middle finger of his right hand. The pain intensified immediately as a swirling maelstrom of white hot energy engulfed him, incinerating his clothes as he felt tremendous pain as his bones fractured and healed several times over in seconds as his muscles did the same, ripping apart and healing as his body became stronger and denser... yet the pain didn't fade as memories crowded into his mind; he was unaware his body was streaked with blood or that a continuous yell escaped him as at last after nearly two minutes of the intense pain, the energy faded away leaving a scorched two foot diameter crater with him unconscious in the center burned and extremely bloody as the crater had a good half inch of blood in the bottom. The shocking thing was that the katana had shifted into a nodaichi with a gold inlaid hilt with vines and herons in it as well as in the onyx sheath in silver. There were also herons engraved on the blade, though due to the opened dragon's mouth capping the end of the hilt with an inch diameter sapphire sphere within it brushing the surface of the blood, the weapon imprinted on its wielder and would be impossible to draw by anyone else.

Sinking down on a park bench at gods knew where, Naomi stared at her shoes. Now that she had calmed down somewhat, she couldn't remember why she was mad at Thomas and Sasuke. She knew she was mad at Naruto. The idiot wouldn't stop following her! Nor would his Fiancee! Urgh! "Seriously! Keep following me and I'll shoot you in the head!" She'd threatened but he had called her bluff. She wanted to go back to Thomas and apologise but she had no idea where she was and wasn't going to rely on either of these idiots to take her back to the hospital in one piece.

"Ya know. . ." Naruto began. "Sasuke's not a bad guy. Yeah he's had a rough past but who hasn't? Just give him a chance okay? You might find he's your type. And if not, I'm sure a bit of jealous manipulation can make your companion come around."

"I was really mean to him." Naomi commented having not listened to Naruto. "His house was the one I could run too when mine was bad. And it was bad. All the time. And this is how I repay him? By being a b***h and abandoning him when he needs me most? Some friend I am." She gave a little sob. "I just want to go home." She whimpered in English into her hands. "I wish Thomas was here."

Sakura's head whipped towards the window as a maelstrom of white hot chakra surged upward; she could feel the hospital floor trembling as if it were about to shatter though the chakra column faded after a minute or two. She frowned as she strode with intent towards the window, her eyes narrowed in anger before she saw and smelled the burned flesh and blood as she got a couple of paces from it. Her eyes widened slightly in concern and surprise as she leaned out the window, gasping softly as she saw the crater and a nearly seven inch taller man with shaggy bronze-black hair halfway down his back lying in a small crater that was partially filled with blood. She gagged slightly at the blood that covered him before she blinked a couple of times, thinking. "Get him up here!!" she bellowed at a couple of med-nins that had been getting off their shift, making them look up with paled faces before the darted quickly for several assistants and a stretcher; one got the nodaichi and carried it with her inside as they carried Thomas back inside; most of his burns from whatever the ring had done were mainly first and second degree burns, much easier to deal with than the severe second and third degree burns he'd had initially.

Hinata spun suddenly as chakra surged along her senses roughly twenty yards from Naruto and Naomi, seeing the near thirty foot tall of white hot chakra swirling like a tornado of flames straight upward not far from the hospital roughly four hundred and fifty yards in the distance. "Naruto-kun!!" she shouted to get her fiancée's attention; she knew immediately one of two things had happened, neither of them good.

Senses tingled. Everything Naomi's body screamed to go back to him. "Thomas!" She cried following the ANBU to the hospital. Faster, I have to move faster! She was pushing her body beyond it's limit's but she had to get to her friend. If he had lost control of his temper. . . If he'd hurt anyone because she was mean to him. She wouldn't be able to forgive herself.

Sakura was mildly surprised at the dozens of scars on Thomas' shoulders, upper arms, torso and thighs. There were even several on his back. Seems this sensei that taught him was ruthless, and unless I'm mistaken, used bundled lathes when training in place of steel blades, she reasoned.

Hinata scooped up Naomi in her arms, ignoring how strange it looked as she accelerated to mid Chuunin level speeds with very little effort before they found the crater partially filled with blood, though Hinata noticed tiny fragments of scorched wood and metal in it and around the crater. Though the jet of chakra had faded from sight, she could feel the residual chakra like pinpricks on her skin, telling her it had been extremely intense. She knew without turning around or looking back that Naruto was a few steps behind them.
