Ah... he knew it. Max stood up as tall as he could, watching Alistair's body change unwillingly. His hands slipped into his pockets and he pulled a silver chain from his pocket and held it tight in his hand. He'd known all along that Alistair wasn't human, that he was a wolf. But was he THAT wolf? They'd know that tomorrow. He'd wait.

Any moment, the wolf would lunge. He'd get a bite or two into Max's flesh, and Max would take that chance to use the silver chain and bind him until daybreak. If that didn't work, he'd subdue him one way or another. This wasn't his first hunt.

As he got closer to being fully transformed, Alistair lost more and more of his human side. He could feel it slipping away quickly as the rest of his body quickly changed shape into a large white wolf. His head would have come up to Max's midsection and, if he were able to stand on two legs he surely would have towered over the other just as he did as a man.

Alistair tore at the clothes still hanging off of him, snarling and tossing them aside. He stared up at max, jowls raised as he snarled and growled. His muscles tensed and he backed up a pace or two before lunging at Max, paws pressed hard against his chest and teeth sinking into his shoulder.

Max hissed as the teeth sank into his flesh, but it was what he needed to get the chain of silver around that white fluffy neck and he managed to get the other off him with a good swift kick to the ribs. He tossed the chain away and quickly tied it off on anything sturdy. He quickly turned to the wolf and watched him struggle against the chains, hand over the wound. "Goddamn you've got quite a bit," he hissed.

He yelped as he was kicked away, landing roughly on his side and struggling back onto his feet. He went to lunge at Max once again, yelping in pain as the silver burnt, singing fur and skin. After a few moments of struggling to no avail he stopped, laying on his side panting, staring up at Max. It was as if he were glaring at him for doing something like this to him.

Max came over to him a moment later and put his hand out. "Ah... easy," he warned, eyes narrowed as he gently lay it on the wolf's head. "Easy... I knew you were a werewolf," he said softly, petting Alistair's head. "The only problem we're facing is which werewolf are you. There's more than one in this town... I've figured that out too. Plus you have a few witches here and there." He rolled his eyes at that comment.

"But I don't think you're the one doing the killing." He scooted closer to him, wincing a bit at the pain in his shoulder. "Damn this hurts... Did you have to bite so hard?"

He sat up as Max approached, eyeing the man warily. His ears flattened back against his head as Max began to pet him, slowly flicking upward as he grew accustomed to the treatment. He knew the guy was talking to him, but he couldn't understand what was being said. is tail swished lazily behind him as he inched forward, sniffing the bite wound on Max's shoulder before licking it clean.

"Neh I'll be fine," he stated softly. "Your bites won't do anything to me... I'm immune." Once he was sure Alistair was calm enough, he removed the silver chain and set it aside. He backed away and watched him carefully. "Alistair..."

He shook himself as the silver chain was removed, assessing the damage and finding it to not be too serious. It would heal by the morning, at any rate. Alistair sniffed around aimlessly, following one scent or another around the foyer and living room. Then he heard his name and his ears perked up. He trotted back to Max and sat in front of him, head cocked to the side. What did he want now? Couldn't he see Alistair had a lot of things that needed sniffing out and exploring?

Whew. Thank God he wasn't going to go nuts and kill him or leave the house. He did have to find a way to get the bleeding to stop or he'd wind up passing out. Carefully, he dragged himself to his feet and reapplied pressure to his wound. He hissed and glanced around, hunting for the bathroom. This was going to be a stupidly long night. He whistled for Alistair, hoping the wolf would follow him to the bathroom. He had to keep on eye on him.

He growled softly as Max whistled at him, but followed after him anyway. He was torn between leaving the man alone or giving him another bite but, seeing as he was standing and actively moving, it was probably more trouble than it was worth to try taking him down. He followed Max to the bathroom, squeezing his way into the small room and watching him carefully. Max was bleeding pretty badly, and he seemed to be looking for something. Alistair clumsily climbed up onto the toilet, smelling something interesting. He nudged his nose at one of the cabinets sitting over the sink, whining when he wouldn't get it open. Whatever was in there smelled horrible like chemicals and sterile cloth.

That'll work. He pat Alistair's head tenderly and grabbed for the supplies needed. It was awkward, and it took him a while, but he managed to finally get his wound covered. He sat on the toilet, feeling a bit dizzy. He'd lost a lot of blood already, and wasn't sure how much longer till he conked out. He eyeballed the wolf. He really didn't want to put the guy in silver chains again, but he may have too. He stood up and wobbled over to him.

"Alistair... come here."

Alistair barked softly, hopping off of the toilet so the other could sit. He watched Max work, pacing back and forth. He'd finally decided not to finish off the man. He wasn't that much of a threat now and it wasn't as if Alistair was in need of food. Alistair tensed as Max stood up on shaky legs, advancing toward him. He backed up a few steps, seeming to be torn between staying or bolting. Did he trust this man or didn't he? He didn't move closer, but didn't run away either. He stared up at Max, growling softly in warning, telling the man not to try any funny stuff.

"Oh come off it, I won't do anything to hurt ya. Just..." He stumbled and fell over, passing out mid-sentence and when he hit the ground, that's where he remained. Well s**t. That was bad. If Alistair got out now, he'd never know.Poor Max. He was trying his damndest to keep the other from being the person he had to kill, and it looked like he'd failed at it this month.

Alistair gave an alarmed bark as Max fell, pacing next to him nervously. Was he dead? Nope, he smelled alive and he was still breathing. Okay, so what now? Eat him? Ew no. He smelled like metal and chemicals. Not tasty. Alistair ran off, sniffing around until he found his bedroom. It must be his because it smelled kind of like him. He grabbed the blanket from the bed and brought it back to Max, dropping it on him unceremoniously. Then he lay down next to the man, watching him through the night.

Alistair groaned as he felt an ache in his back. What the hell? He opened his eyes and realized he was laying on the floor. When did he get there? What had he been doing last night? s**t, he must have turned if he couldn't remember. He rolled onto his side and saw Max crumpled up next to him. "s**t!" he sat up, crawling over to the other. "s**t s**t ********! Max please don't be dead...or bitten. Oh God please tell me I didn't..." he lifted the edge of the covers and his worst fear was confirmed. "******** I am so sorry."

The response from the body on the floor was a groan, then a hand shifting upward to rub his face. The noise of the panicked man was making Max's head throb, but when he remembered the situation he was in, he opened an eye carefully and saw that beautiful face looking down at him spouting apologies. It took Max a moment to make sure he wouldn't throw up when he moved and then up he sat. He steadied himself and looked at Alistair. "Well... you aren't covered in blood, so chances are you didn't kill anything. Which is good news for you... I don't have to kill you." Still, that couldn't be confirmed until the next full moon.

His eyes... did drift however. Wasn't every day you woke up next to a beautiful naked man. Pity he wasn't naked himself. "Thank you for the nice wake up, Alistair. You look rather sexy naked."
