[FIN] Drowning

"Um... well... I've been told that normally you should have as much water as you did alcohol." She explained, she didn't know how much he had, and she knew he was really tired, so she was starting to think that she would have to be happy with what he had already drank.
"Hopefully what you had already will help."

"Mm..." He was pretty sure he hadn't had all that much, at least. Gradually, silently, he emptied the glass, his foggy thoughts absent of anything particularly coherent.

Rosie reached out, offering to take the glass when he finished, and for the time being just set it on the coffee table. holding her hands out to help him up.

He relinquished the glass when she indicated for it, watching her movements idly. When he realized she was holding out her hands for him, he accepted the assistance, using her support to push himself off the sofa and keeping a hand on her to maintain some semblance of balance. His lethargic state wasn't doing any favors for his stability, and he leaned towards Rosie, resting a shoulder lightly against her, to keep himself oriented.

Once he was on his feet, and she could tell that he still didn't have much in the way of balance still. Rosie reached out to help him steady himself.
"Maybe we shouldn't brave the stairs tonight." She concluded,

Luke wasn't in much of a state to make any judgment calls, and so he responded with the faintest shrug to resign himself to her decision.

Guest room it was, though now it was starting to work more as a room for when Luke got sick or injured than anything it seemed like.
Helping him along as much as she could she brought him to the darkened room, not bothering to turn on the lights as she guided him toward the bed, letting him go enough so that she could pull the covers back.

So long as he remembered to move his feet, he was more or less capable of making the short journey from the couch to the downstairs bedroom. Moving primarily by means of habit, he seated himself on the edge of the mattress - and, moving primarily by means of impulse, he raised his arms to wrap gently around Rosie's waist, leaning lightly against her.

Dropping the blanket folds down, just as she felt a pare of arms around her waist.
Tired, sad and probably not feeling too hot at this point, but by that act alone was still so warming and adorable.

Blinking down at him, unable to do much of anything else but step closer and gently stroke his hair.
She hoped he would have a better day tomorrow, after spending the last two days in such terrible situations.

After a few seconds Rosie shifted so that she could sit down by him, enough to allow her to put her arms around his shoulders.

At least for this single moment in time, he had little memory of what had plagued him, and though the residual feelings of emotional exhaustion weighed on top of the physical exhaustion, he was content just having his beloved fiancee in his arms. His posture slackened and he relaxed against her gradually, easily slipping back towards the slumber he'd been denied earlier.

She had no problems with sitting here with him like this, though the fact that he still did smell like alcohol was a bit odd, it didn't take away from his presence .
Eventually, as she started to notice that he was actually slipping off to sleep she lossened her arms a little.
"do you want to lay down?"

He responded with a quiet hum that was neither positive nor negative; it was merely an acknowledgment that she had spoken and he had heard her, even if he had failed to understand what was said and didn't know how he was expected to answer.

She smiled lightly. "You can't sleep like this all night." she continued, but still she didn't think she was going to get a response out of him.
gently, she started pulling away from him, and pushed herself onto the bed a little more, her hands at his arms. "come on."

Green eyes just barely fluttered open as the source of support he'd been relying on pulled away. He reflexively leaned roughly in the direction of a pillow, pulling his legs in to curl up on the mattress and sinking heavily onto the bed - he missed the pillows by several inches and wasn't quite oriented correctly, but neither of these failings bothered him. On instinct he reached feebly to place his arms around one of Rosie's, unwilling to separate from her.

She supposed that's as good as she was going to get him on the bed for the night, and that was okay.
Dragging one of the pillows down, she settled herself down by him, pulling her hair out of her face and curling herself under the arm he reached out for her with.
"Have a better day tomorrow." she said quietly in a hopeful tone.
