Aaand... nothing, though at this point he couldn't be that surprised; he was starting to wonder if there were even any fossils here. He straightened up again and scanned the area, trying to decide where to look next. One spot in particular caught his eye - a pile of rocks leaning against the wall - so he headed over to them to sift through them on the off-chance there was a fossil hiding under one of them. At this point, though, he kind of really doubted it.

Nothing, nothing, not--oh. A pungent, sickening stench wafted out from under a rock he'd just moved, and he hastily dropped the stone and pressed his sleeve to his nose. Wonderful, just what he'd hoped for his troubles - something that had probably died and rotted under a pile of rocks. Abandoning the pile of rocks in favor of going somewhere that didn't smell like s**t now, he stood back up and walked further down the path. Once he deemed himself far enough away, he paused and shoved his hands in his hoodie pocket once more and glanced around, frowning. Seriously, were there even any fossils here? Rather than move anything again in case anything else had gone and died under a rock, he slowly turned in a circle to study the ground all around him without actually touching anything yet. After the various things he'd 'found' he didn't particularly care to get anything else sticky or nauseating on his gloves.

...a sandwich? Seriously? First the banana peel, now a sandwich? Did someone have a picnic in the middle of a cave or something? Well, whoever had lost their uneaten sandwich - sucked to be them. He was actually glad they'd lost it. It didn't help him find any fossils, but if nothing else he could at least find amusement in someone else's misfortune.

Turning away from the sandwich, Sync continued further down the path, keeping an eye on the ground as he went. Maybe there were fossils deeper in the cave...

[Keeping the Carbink]

Michiko saw what appeared to be crystals, but as soon as it moved she jumped back. "Snap! Use Return!"

Snap ran forward and hit, what Michiko saw now, the carbink, sending it sailing across the room and it hit a wall. Without thought, Michiko threw her pokeball at it and caught it.

She sighed but smiled as she went over to pick it up.

As she straighten up though, she saw...a higher ranking Team Rocket member coming into the chamber and her eyes sparkled when she took in the interest of the Absol that came...sauntering in. She smiled. "Nice Absol," she said with sincerity, she loves absols, guessing it's because it was the very first pokemon she got when joining Team Rocket. "As for the fossils, you are welcome to them. I found two pokemon and that is enough for me. Let's not hog everything." Snap grunted as he ignored the absol's comments. He couldn't be bothered to get worked up over something like that.

She turned towards the other Rocket's comments. "If anymore pokemon come in here, we might have a problem." Lack of oxygen problem.

Ibarra decided to get distracted and welcome both the absol, flareon, and all the other pokemon in the cavern.

A noise distracted her as she saw...Sync. It looked like he wasn't having any luck, as he threw something and continued on looking. The thing rolled towards Michiko's feet and she had to bit back a laugh, a fake fossil education toy. She thought she would be upset to if she found it herself, would think Arceus was making fun of her.

"She is, isn't she?" Aulus agreed with a lazy smirk, reaching down to scratch Tortie's mane; he was firmly of the opinion that she was the very best Absol that had ever been, though he supposed he was biased.

A tap on his right shoulder drew his attention and he turned to see Char holding out a large piece of stone to him. "Hu?" he squinted at it; it was a little hard to make out under the artificial lights but a brush of his fingers definitely picked up a strange pattern on the surface. "I wonder what this is?" he asked of nobody in particular, slinging his bag off his back again to get out the packing stuff. With somebody he didn't know personally nearby he didn't fancy fumbling about awkwardly trying to wrap it himself so he left the job to Char, who was as willing and efficient as ever.

"Good job people," Aulus nodded to his pokemon as he shouldered his now rather heavier bag again; the big piece Char had just found was on the bottom, the two suspected Helix fossils on top. Should they keep looking?... It seemed a shame to go when they were doing so well but he didn't want to risk his bag ripping.

"Nice catch." Lex said watching a smallish rock pokemon fly through the air and the quick capture. "And I've already found two, about right on top of each other... thinking of looking for some random wild pokemon to battle with. Sides here could use some training."

Sideways cheerfully greeted Ibarra back, tail flickering back and forth.

"What did you catch?" He asked. He couldn't quiet name the one she had just captured.

((Sync is actually a lot deeper in the cave than Michiko, Aulus and Lex - more towards the dead end at the back, rather than near the front. :3))

An oddly-shaped rock stuck out from the rest, and Sync hesitated a moment or two before walking over and kneeling to check it out. He didn't have to look very long to know what it was though, and promptly stood back up. Fossil or not, he couldn't even begin to imagine that had any value to Team Rocket. At the very least, it meant there were more valuable fossils to be found in here somewhere, so the trainee turned and headed deeper into the winding cavern, still keeping an eye on the ground.

Some bright pink object caught his eye and he paused midstep, debating passing it by before the possibility of it being a bag - and therefore might've had contents - struck him, so he altered his course and knelt to check it out. Upon opening it, he found... nothing. Surprise, surprise. With a frown at both the pink bag and at his atrocious luck, the trainee stood and continued onwards with his hands back in his pocket, not fully sure where he should be looking anymore, but mostly scanning the floor. There had to be a valuable fossil somewhere here, surely. Somewhere.

A loose rock shifted under his foot as he walked over it and he almost slipped - almost - and stopped to frown down at the offending stone. It wasn't a fossil, nor was it hiding a fossil, nor were there any fossils in the vicinity that he could see... Seriously, were there any fossils - any good fossils - anywhere in this damned cave? Frustration slowly mounting, Sync continued hiking further in.

The further he walked, the closer the walls seemed to be, until he finally stopped and considered his options. While the path continued to a point, he couldn't exactly fit much further, unless he wanted to try and squeeze himself through the ever-thinning space ahead of him, which he had no desire to do. The trainee backtracked a bit and spun in a little circle, studying the floor closely to see if there was anything he might've missed.
