"Well, this one is... small and weirdly cute. But I've been, uh, under attack from bigger angrier ones before now! These things are really really dangerous! Honestly!" Tambrey insisted, but she had to admit that the little thing's antics were /not/ making her case.

When it rolled over like that, she even smiled at it before she took another picture to send in reply to the message.
//This kind of way! We have no treats but it's clearly doing tricks! Frakking adorable!!! But seriously please send help fast. No idea if lack of treats will anger it...//

"...it just rolled over," the grunt said with a hint of disbelief in his largely unimpressed tones. "What was it doing before - sit? What's next, play dead?"

The phrase made the Yveltal quickly and gracelessly flap its wings as it righted itself, lifted itself up off the ground a bit, and then strategically flopped back onto the grass as it went limp, though its bright blue eyes watched the pair of humans.

If it were possible, Sync's expression looked even more unimpressed than before.

Tambrey would receive no immediate reply from base after her last message.

"Someone taught it tricks. Someone taught it to- oh frak!" Tambrey hissed.
"I mean. Obviously it's tame but it's not wild. It's been invested in too, to do tricks. It /belongs/ to someone and," she winced, shook her 'dex unhappily as though she thought it would hurry a reply along, and then looked from the baby bird to the sky suspiciously "it wouldn't be the first time I've seen one, um, belong to someone..."

Sync turned his unimpressed look towards Tambrey instead. Was she going to do anything about it or was she going to just stand there waving her 'dex at it like that would fix everything? "You're not that scared of a baby, are you?" He queried with a mirthless smirk. "With how bad you're jumping, you'd think its tricks were lethal. It's not acting like it's going to kill us at any moment, it's acting like just about every playful Growlithe I've ever seen." So saying, he moved past her and closer to the Yveltal, kneeling down in front of it with a hand out. While he didn't care in the least for pokemon, this one didn't seem even remotely as dangerous as she was trying to make it out to be. On the off-chance it was, however, he remained alert, ready to dart out of the way should the need arise. He was confident it wouldn't, though, given its behavior thus far.

The juvenile cooed happily as it scrambled upright again to bump at the outstretched hand with its nose, then moved forward to push its fluffy ruff under Sync's hand hopefully.

"It's been trained, it belongs to someone, but it's one of those legendary pokemon, right?" Sync asked as he turned his head back to glance at Tam, working his fingers into the Yveltal's ruff and eliciting pleased noises from the pokemon. "Aren't those valuable, like the Articuno? Shouldn't we take it?"

Tambrey's glance upward would reveal a similar scene to the one she saw while in the car: A clear, nearly cloudless sky, the sun high off to one side, and occasionally a small bird pokemon would pass by overhead.

Another message finally arrived on Tam's dex: Engage with caution then. See if you can keep it there or entice it to go with you, if not catch it altogether. Be careful, and if it seems like it will become violent if you try then only engage as much as absolutely necessary.

"Very scared of it. Of this baby. But you're right.. It's uh, what are you doing?" Tambrey frowned at Sync and shook her head. "Passive as that thing is, uh, now, it might not stay that way! Be careful! But you're right, and base said we should try to catch it or at least entice it to come with us so... Uh."

Tambrey narrowed her eyes. She looked at the back seats of the car and moved to open the nearest back door.
She gave an experimental whistle and a gesture at the back seats, like one might to call a Growlithe into a car.

Sync snorted rather derisively. "Dangerous, right. I'll believe it when I see it." Hmm, catch it or entice it... Since he hadn't brought any extra pokeballs with him - why would he bother, since they were supposed to merely be fetching a box - and she didn't seem to either, judging by her actions, enticing it seemed to be their best bet.

At her whistle the Yveltal jerked its head up and looked towards her and the open door. It hardly needed to process the command at all and immediately brightened considerably, scrambled upright, and hastily waddle-ran over to the open door. Its front half slid easily into the vehicle but it took a bit of scrabbling to get its back end inside as well, but once it pulled itself all the way in, it swept its tail off to one side towards the floor and began nudging at the window of the closed door while making hopeful noises.

The grunt stood with a mixed expression, as if he wasn't sure what to think of the situation. Truly, he didn't know what to think. "So it's a.. whatever it is," it began with a 'y' but he wasn't sure how to pronounce it, so he didn't bother, "and not a Growlithe, right?"

"... I. I can't believe that worked." Tambrey muttered.
"Good! Um... Good, death.. bird...! Good bird!" She praised the Yvetal and then closed the door it had entered by, noting it's actions as she stepped back with a very confused, still slightly scared, look on her face.
"Yes. Yvetal. Frakking pokémon of destruction! It's /whole thing/ is /death/! It's not supposed to be a Growlithe..." She shook her head and made to get back in the car.
"And I think it wants the window down..."
PostPosted: Mon Nov 09, 2015 8:16 pm
The Yveltal cooed happily at Tambrey's praise, its lengthy tail wiggling in the back seat almost as if attempting to wag it.

"Death bird... Right," Sync echoed extremely skeptically, but just the same he rounded the car again to get into the driver's seat, turned the vehicle on and then rolled down the window for it. The Yveltal gleefully stuck its head out the window and looked around. "You're sure it's not a Growlithe."

Tambrey frowned.
No. No she wasn't sure at all right now. But if this was a costume it was a very good one.
"It does act like one but no, this is not a Growlithe..." She twisted around in her seat to take another picture to send on to base.

//Subject in car. No signs of aggression. Randévu? Will head for base?//

"We, uh, really can't be seen by anyone non-Rocket with an Yvetal in the back of the car..." Tambrey muttered. "And I'll feel a lot more comfortable when it's actually, um, safely contained. Even if it kind of... cute..."
PostPosted: Mon Nov 09, 2015 8:30 pm
With a puzzled frown Sync shut his door and secured his seat belt once more. This was a very unexpected little detour, but given how much value Team Rocket seemed to place on legendary pokemon, it was probably at least profitable in some way... Unless it did turn out to be a Growlithe. A very big, bird-like Growlithe. Somehow. Pushing the thoughts from his mind, he switched the vehicle into 'drive' and continued their path down the dirt road, slowly at first in case the bumps agitated the Yveltal. "Well good thing this area seems to be deserted for now, and the forest will provide added cover," the grunt noted aloud.

They didn't. If anything, the legendary seemed more excited once they started moving, eagerly looking all around outside for quite some time. Eventually it pulled its head in and snaked it around to nuzzle it against Tambrey's shoulder with an affectionate coo.

Tam would not receive a reply from base immediately.

"Hrm." Tambrey tapped her 'dex anxiously. The soundtrack all but forgotten in the face of 'puppy bird of death' encounter.
"Well hopefully it stays that way and just.. y'know. We see no one. Until, um, either aid finds us or we get to base. Sooner we're back on ba-waah! Hello!" Tambrey startled and then tentatively reached to gingerly pet the destruction legendary's head.
"You are, uh, the cutest death creature, at least..."
PostPosted: Mon Nov 09, 2015 9:01 pm
The grunt made a noise of agreement as his green eyes scanned the road ahead of them and the fields surrounding them, but as yet he saw no sign of anyone else. Occasionally a pokemon or two - ones native to the area - poked their heads above the tall grasses before vanishing again, but that was about it.

The Yveltal cooed at the attention and nudged at her hand in the hopes of more attention.

A new message arrived on Tam's 'dex finally: Team ready for departure if necessary but it seems like it isn't. Remain cautious on return trip, will meet in base unless you require assistance before.

"Very cute..." Tambrey sighed, warming to the creature, though still keeping a degree of wary alertness about her, just in case. She gave in easily to the cooing, offering more petting warily at first but more comfortably after a few moments when it was clear the creature really didn't seem to want to kill them.

With her free hand, she typed out a reply.
//On way back. Will request assistance if needed. Subject is cuddly.//

"Careful, it looks vicious," Sync reminded Tambrey with a smirk. "It could bite your hand off any second."

Said vicious Yveltal simply cooed happily again and rested its head on Tambrey's shoulder, its large blue eyes sliding shut at all the attention.

Copy, read the next reply. Will meet in garage unless requested otherwise.

"Well it... could. But this one is odd. It must have been tamed from hatching. Maybe. Once we have a pokéball we can, uh, test that. That it might have belonged to somebody. Might still. Hm. It'd be valuable..." Tambrey mused. "If it were ours we might stick a tracker or, um, something on it..."

Still petting the creature, Tambrey sent another message.

//Any concerns regarding tracking devices? Is our vehicle shielded? No sign of one but querying just in case.//
