[ORP] Jumping At Shadows!

Halloween was the only time of year you could dress up without getting stared that, not that he minded being stared at - and he got stared at at least a bit no matter what he wore - but it was fun to see what other people put on when they had a choice!

Dith had gone for and Odin costume, really when you had one eye and were a giant man it was that or pirate in the mainstream anyway.

Anyway, there seemed to be plenty to see here! Dith was just starting to investigate the outside area when he spotted a familiar figure; a broad smile split his face and he called; "Hey, Sera!"

Jerome had meant to scary Zachaire... It was when he expected when he came up behind someone, made a loud noise and grabbed them. Twitchy lived up to his name too, just as Jerome knew he would.
what Jerome didn't expect was that after Zachaire had righted himself from the rose bush more quickly then Jerome could move to step forward and offer help, all the while laughing and dodging the swipe from his partner, that someone would then jump out at Zacharie and get him AGAIN!

Jerome watched as the jumpy boy reacted hilariously and felt his face plant into his chest.
"Woh woh!" Jerome managed between his laughs, reaching out to put his hands on Zacharie's shoulders and straighten him out."holy s**t man, I ain't planned f'that sucka t'get ya too!" He laughed, leaning forward with his hand on Zachaire's shoulder to support him up. "ya' aight man?"

Zacharie rubbed his sore nose gently, wiggling it a bit to make sure he didn't seriously injure it. His glare shifted from the trees to his partner, though he doubted it held any real malice since he had to admit...it had been kinda funny. "M'fine." He mumbled, halfheartedly pushing at the older man's shoulder as he continued to laugh. "It's not that funny." He groused, though the corners of his lips twitched up into a smile. He liked making Jerome laugh...though he'd rather it not be at his expense. Ah well, as long as he was having fun it didn't matter. "C'mon, lets keep looking around." He sent the trees behind him one last wary look before starting towards what looked like a guillotine.

It pleased Ray that the little random nicknames she had picked for the kids had kinda stuck, more so with Drayce then the others, who had taken it in whole heatedly.
'Leader bean' Made her way over to the others at a much more leisurely pace then Gon had.
"Well at least you have the spirit of this place, you're barely in the door and already you're letting the spooks get to you, Maybe you should teach Gon a few things about how Haunted houses are supposed to work?"

The glance from the smaller boy earned him a light wink from the women,
Having plucked off a few clumps of the thing string on Drayce's head, he rolled it around between his fingers curiously before looking back at the crouching boy. "the point is to get scared on purpose?" He asked

Jerome was aware that it probably wasn't as funny to Zachaire who was now sporting a sore nose, but it was just to perfect how the situation had unfolded.
Jerome hadn't laughed like that in a long long time, but couldn't help but feel like he was going to pay for it later on.

Taking a breath in, he gathered himself back up, though keeping a grin over his studded lips.
"M'surprised ya didn't deck the guy." Jerome said "Hell M'surprised ya didn't deck me." he was prepared for it after all.

"The best part of haunted houses is to get scared!" Drayce didn't actually get scared very easily, but it was fun to wander around and get caught up in the moment. "Eh?" The trainer let his pokemon slide to the ground so he could go and inspect the area for himself. "Weeeeell..." They scratched their chin thoughtfully as they mulled over Gon's question. "Maybe not purposely get scared but let the...the..." They paused again, pulled a small dictionary from their pocket, and flipped through it before giving a nod. "Ya gotta let the spirit of Halloween move through ya." They nodded sagely before standing back up to their full height. "Ya know?" They cocked their head before following after their pokemon. "Purrito, don't get picked up by ghosties!"

"That is rather adorable... Chingling? I think." Lex chuckled, looking at the tiny pokemon nestled in the crook of Taavi's arm. "I'm glad you decided to join our evening, little one."

"Now, where shall we go from here? Did you want to look at the ballrooms?" Lex questioned.

Zacharie gave a loud snort at Jerome's admission, giving the older man a wry smile from over his shoulder. "Punching people would probably get us kicked out." He wouldn't deny that it had almost happened, but old habits died hard. It was far more instinctual for him to stumble back than to immediately swing...especially since his guard hadn't really been up.

Once he came upon the guillotine, he circled around it a few times before giving a disappointed tsk. "It's not even real." He lamented, looking up at the dull blade. "Who buys a fake guillotine?" He questioned no one in particular. "We should just go inside...I bet it's much creepier in there."

Gon just managed to look even more confused, something Ray took note of and with an amused sigh instead gestured her hands toward the two younger trainers.
"Alright well why don't you guys go explore around, and maybe he'll get it."

It helped that Purrito had already moved away from them to explore, Treecko taking the initiative to go explore as well, bouncing off of Gon's head and hurrying after the Espurr.

pushing them along Ray released them, hanging back from them to watch how it went.

They had been working so hard on training, and with the winter coming they had taken an extra strep in preparing for that. Winter living was always difficult, and they needed to make sure they had enough supplies to make it through as easily as they could. With Drayce having some experience living in the winder, and Gon having very little experience, Ray had to make sure to guide them properly and teach them everything they needed to know.
This would be one of the last opportunities to do something really fun before the hard work kicked in.

Gon had a single mind to train, to grow and get stronger... He had to be stronger and that was the only thing his simple mind could seem to focus on. Maybe... Maybe he could use this 'haunted house' as a way to learn and train even if he was supposed to just letting himself... get swept away by the spirit of Halloween.

Purrito turned to give his trainer a withering sort of look, only to bump into something while he wasn't looking. He gave an offended little squeak as he fell back onto the gravel, his gaze turning to the shadowy figure in front of him. "GHOST!!" Drayce cried, taking the few steps necessary to get to their fallen pokemon. "Don't worry Purrito, I'll save you!" Immediately going after the shadowy figure that had knocked his friend over.

Drayce is gonna catch the pokemoooooon!

"..." Jerome arched an eyebrow from under the Batman cowl "Man I think S'better t'wonder who buys a REAL one." He pointed out, glancing over the old model of a machine used for executions.
shifting slightly around it, he nodded lightly glancing around "S'getting kinda busy in here." He noted at the number of people starting to enter the room, and the growing ruckus.

Grabbing onto his cape, and throwing it up over his shoulder in a long arch that joined his movement "Robin, We got s'm s**t t'do!"
With a bit more energy then he usually showed, Jerome took off, doing a rather impressive rolling flip over one of the garden wall displays, his cape billowing behind him as he took off back toward the door

Zacharie had no idea why Jerome suddenly seemed so full of energy...but he certainly wasn't about to complain!

With another snort of laughter, he followed after his friend. "Leapin' lizards, Batman. We better get goin'!" He laughed as he vaulted over the wall, saluting a few kids that stared in awe. It wasn't nearly as smooth as Jerome's exit, but he didn't trip up, didn't hesitate, didn't stumble as he landed on the other side of the wall. Dried dead leaves crunched beneath his boots as he spun on his heel to chase after his partner. "Race ya back into the house!" He exclaimed as he darted past Jerome, his cape flying behind him.
