His heart was beating furiously with each step he took. Thaddeus was encased in absolute focus. In this desolate future, he wouldn't deter from his endgame - Bart was a fool if he really believed that he could escape the inevitable. Speeding through the time-stream, Thaddeus caught a glimpse of Impulse in front of him. He began to pick up the pace, each stride he took served more and more use to him as he sped up. Bart had been unaware of his presence, the perfect opportunity to strike in the heart of the very time-stream!

Much to his annoyance, Bart decided to take a rather abrupt exit to Gotham. Grunting in frustration, he took the same abrupt turn. Green sparks coursed around his body as he sped through. Each step pushed him further as he pursued Bart. He watched as several of Gotham's heroes had been exiting from somewhere. All of them were insignificant specks in the larger scale of the time-line. Could he possibly be about to discover the Batcave? Before he could entertain the thought, he caught a glance of a red streak and jumped into pursuit once more. Zooming past all of the inconsequential simpletons, he launched himself back into the speed force to continue his hunt.

Ra's al Ghul
The Demon's Head

In his chambers, Ra's al Ghul turned on one of the nearby monitors, pressing a few buttons on his desk, and dialing up one of his 'partners' in Gotham's impending doomsday. On the screen, appeared Dr. Hugo Strange. Hidden by his signature glasses and beard. "Doctor. How's everything coming along? Has the Detective come looking for our guest yet? Or hasn't she arrived?" Ra's asked. There was a hint of something sinister almost threatening-like in his voice that said "don't disappoint" as he stared at Strange. The Demon's Head was a man of timing and patience. Everything was planned to a tee and although the general rule for plans were not to expect such---he didn't care. It was his way or the high way.

Meanwhile, awakening again was Damian Wayne. The twelve year old son of Bruce Wayne looked around unsure of where he was for a second. He saw a shadowy figure standing in the doorway. Was it...? "F-Father?" he asked in a low whisper. He couldn't believe he had found him so quickly. "I didn't think you would come for me..." the figure ushered forward and revealed itself to be Mother's pet who strong armed him earlier in Gotham, now wearing his Father's cape and cowl. One of Talia's mementos from their shared night together. He found it in a chest when he was younger. Damian's eyebrows turned upside down for a moment then resided to furrow showing a look of pure anger. "You have no right to be wearing that. Take it off right now or I'll cut it off right with your head!" snapped Damian.

He jumped at the figure, which in return, was not phased. The Heretic just stood there arms folded now."Big talk coming from you. Which I guess isn't so surprising. You hide yourself behind insults because every insult you throw, is how you really feel about yourself. At the end of the day, you're just a scared little boy who wants his Mommy and Daddy. And I, am here to deliver the news; that neither are going to save y--" Damian spat at his face and scoffed. "And you need to remember that all you are, is just another one of Talia's pets! She barks a order and you follow. So how about you do us both a favor you shithead and let me free. Maybe just maybe if you do, I won't break too many of your bones." wiping the spit from cheek, he frowned.

The Heretic with the cowl and cape still on, moved forward and punched the brat in his stomach instantaneously breaking multiple ribs. Damian's eyes widened, blood spilling from his mouth, as a knee came firmly underneath his jawline cracking it. Then a more than firm backhand across his face. Damian was barely standing, hanging on to the chain against the wall he was paired with for the time being, panting. Finally to the other's surprise, he looked up with a defying grin. "That's the best you got? Talia hit me harder than that when I was 3 and we were just training." this irritated the Heretic as his punches began to continue harder this time around, all in the face and chest areas of the cocky child. He would learn his place or die.

At the end of the beating, Damian was on his knees. Barely able to see out of one eye, his arm broken, ankle fractured, some teeth missing, and his jaw as swollen as a watermelon. He was breathing and coughing up blood. The Heretic on the other hand had not even broke a sweat. He was proud of his work here. "I hope you lived it up being the son of Batman, Damian. Because as of this moment, your life is over. " he said, wiping the blood off his fists and exiting the room, and slamming the door. Damian from there was left in darkness and in pain. He knew his Mother was disappointed in him choosing Father but to what extent...Nevertheless, there was no time to waste. He needed to find a weapon or something and get out of here. Or at least be prepared for next time for when Talia's pet chose to beat on him.

With Talia joining in on their discussion, Richard was ready to leave as soon as possible. As she passed him up knowing that she didn’t care for him whatsoever. She spoke once again, trying to fool them all that she was innocent in all of this. ”By the looks of it, you all seem to have lost something of importance.” That comment alone drove him into a more frenzied mood; her unannounced appearance didn’t help. Everything after that small comment he had ignored, wanting to get back into her face and make her confess where Damian was. But he knew better, if she knew where he was she wouldn’t give up the location and it would be a waste of his breath. Bruce has finally spoken up to his “Beloved” in a harsh tone.

”When I comeback, I want you out of my cave.” Finally was the only word that came to Richard's mind, he didn’t want her there and hopefully he wasn’t the only one thinking that. Quickly following Batman's lead he didn’t want to look at her anymore, and wanted Damian back safe. Watching as the Batmobile raced out of the cave, he wanted so bad to let it go but he couldn't. Her presence being so convenient as Robin had just disappeared only placed him in a bitter mood. As soon he was back onto his motorcycle, sitting on it for a few seconds before speaking again furiously.”You heard him Talia, don’t be here when we get back.” Before she could respond, he had ignited his cycle. Revving the engine enough to cut off another bullshit excuse that she had to back up her innocence. Racing behind Batman in an attempt to catch up to match the speed of the Batmobile.

Tim's face sat with a deadpan expression. He wasn't impressed by Talia's attempt to insult Bruce's intelligence with her act. Had she seriously just tried to pull one over the world's greatest detective? Tim just could not dignify it. It wasn't long until both Bruce and d**k had taken their leave from the cave, with the order that Talia best be gone before they return.

Following Batman and Nightwings lead, He began to walk with Stephanie down from the main part of the cave towards the Batmobile platform. "Do you think she knows where he's at?" He tightened his lips as Stephanie spoke. Tim turned his head to her, speaking with a confident, yet found intellectual authority, "Without a doubt--" He unfolded his arms and turned to a red tinted motorcycle. Pacing towards it, he continued, "--It seems Talia and Damian are a lot more similar than we thought. Neither are as good as they think they are." It was this doubt that made Tim worry for Damian even more. He never considered Damian's age a handicap, but his connection to the League of Assassin's certainly was.

He swung one of his legs over the motorcycle, and twisted his head once more to Stephanie. He pointed at another motorcycle then turned back to her. Staring coldly through his flaming scarlet mask, he spoke, "No doubt The League will be expecting us to split up after what happened with Damian and Harper, so make sure you stay close - and I'll meet you in Burnley." He ignited the engine, which ushered rumbling in the motorbike between his legs, and the miles sped away beneath its black wheels as he exited the Batcave and made towards Burnley. Tim grinned despite himself as the wind brushed through his hair. He gave an unconscious squeeze to the lever, coaxing yet more power from the magnificent machine as he closed in on Burnley. Standing by his conviction that Talia was lying, her timely arrival could have only meant that she had recently been with Damian - increasing the likelihood of his whereabouts to be within Gotham itself. Red Robin would wait for Stephanie to arrive once he would stop in Burnley, then they could plan their patrol.

Taking note of where his son was taken, Batman, along with his former protege Nightwing, decided to take on areas closest to that location. The League of Assassins may have been highly trained ninjas and could keep out of sight with ease, but Damian was no push over and even with their numbers had to have given them a run for their money. In doing so they would have had to have been a little more obvious with their approach. Someone, anyone in he nearby vicinity had to have seen something. The Batmobile barreled through the streets, the engine roaring in a furious manner, as was the rage inside of the Dark Knight that began to build up over time. They had taken his son, Talia had lied to his face, and he had the ominous feeling that there was more to this; that something even more sinister was on it's way.

Batman knew of several gangs in this area that knew more than they should. Their rise to prominence was only made possible by stealing goods that came into Gotham and their numbers made it that much easier to overwhelm security that guarded things that were headed straight for the S.T.A.R. Labs division. One in particular that they were coming on was a group known as the Dead End Boys. Due to their petty theft, they've upgraded exponentially and have been a problem in Gotham for some time. Their reach was extensive, spreading throughout the whole city but with Batman being distracted with other things, he wasn't given the chance to confirm a ring leader yet.

The Batmobile drifted into a halt in the middle of a street that led to a dead end. He wasted no time, exiting from the vehicle assuming Nightwing was close behind. Upon stepping up to the building, Batman turned on his cowl's enhanced vision peering through the walls to spot several armed gang bangers on each and every floor. They were the closest to the location where Robin was kidnapped and often strayed from the hideout to go about their leisurely activities. "Don't wait up." He'd remove a grappling hook from his utility belt, shooting it straight up to the roof. Half way through his ascension, he stopped directly in the middle using his legs to kick off from the building and slam through the glass window on the fifth floor.
The sounds of the commotion alerted the gang members within ear shot, all instinctively aiming where the sounds came from only to find that there no one around but themselves.

Using the shadows that peered into the room, Batman erupted from the darkness, slamming one of the men's heads into the wall. Before the other closest to him could strike, he threw a kick towards his torso sending sprawling out onto his back. The others on the floor soon made their way out into the hall only to find it filled to the brim with a thick cloud of smoke. They couldn't see him but thanks to the vision functions in his cowl he could see without the use of his own eyes. Delivering a series of quick blows all around, he made short work of everyone in the hall, their bodies laying limp against the walls and floor as the smoke subsided. There were more in the building although there was nothing wrong with starting his search for answers here.

Batman reached down to wrap his fingers around one of the men's shirts, lifting him up high off the ground. "Let's make this quick.
I need answers and I know you're going to give them to me."
He took his fist back, ready to strike the man down in a moments notice. All he could do was hang there in fear, his eyes clenched shut and his hands shaking as he did his best to guard his face. He wouldn't say anything, he could barely breathe. He jammed his fist directly into his stomach before dropping him down on the ground.

Stephanie's blonde brows furrowed as Tim spoke. It was so frustrating that Talia would just waltz in and practically tease them about Damian. If one hair was out of place on that little Bat-brat they'd regret taking him in the first place. She didn't give a rat's a** about his lineage. Damian was the son of the bat, therefore that made him family.

Nodding she took her place on the motorcycle decked in purple. Pulling on the purple and pink helmet she tossed a wink.
"Make sure to keep up." She grinned before slapping down the visor, the bike roaring to life beneath her and speeding off. Sighing in a breath of fresh Gotham air Stephanie closed her eyes a moment reveling in the wind her blonde strands of hair flying behind her. Gotham city raced pass before she glanced over seeing Tim had easily caught up. Rolling her eyes as he sped ahead. She reached Burnley shortly after him hopping off the bike quietly.

Leaving Valentin to his devices was a risk he was more than willing to take. His wild card like nature and unpredictability made him an asset while also being skilled in assembling an army of his own creations. He was far more useful than the clown. Throw him Valentin a bone and he'll gladly run for it. Hugo's tactics in manipulation ensured that he would not lose control of the clearly unhinged man. Hugo stepped away from the room to let Lazlo conduct his business, exiting into the many abandoned halls underneath Arkham. His personal quarters required his attention as he could hear the pinging coming from his communication device. Stepping into the room, the screen immediately flickered on showing a wallpaper screen of Arkham's gray 'A' sitting outside in front of the Asylum. Hugo's fingers pressed against a pad closest to the screen and soon enough, the Demon's Head, the leader in the grand scheme of things appeared for another progress report.

"As you know, I have very powerful allies here in Gotham.
I've taken up the help of Edward Nygma, Johnathon Crane, and Lazlo Valentin, all of which play a part in my—I mean, your plan."
He paused for a moment letting out an awkward and uncomfortable cough before piping up once more to relay his progress. "Mr. Nygma and Mr. Crane are on their way here with the package. From there a certain Bat will be alerted of the Cat's presence here in Arkham. Do trust that he and his band of birds will be met with righteous force. I command forces beyond comprehension here within Arkham Asylum. Forces waiting to be unleashed upon the people of Gotham City." He wrapped up his piece, shaking his fist in declaration that he would act in how Ra's Al Ghul would want and would effectively carry out his vision for a new Gotham, once rebuilt of course.

A small red blip appeared at the corner of the screen prompting Hugo to pull up the alert. The footage shown was of a security camera located on the outside of the Asylum, specifically right outside of the secret entrance that led to where Hugo Strange would conduct his business further. "Do be careful with Ms. Kyle, we need her intact for our rodent friend. In time she will play her part and in time he will come for her. Until then, bring her inside. I require her for...information." Hugo uttered in a sly tone, a devilish smile creeping from one ear and over to the other.

Within the streets of Gotham the Batmobile roared throughout the city. Trying to keep up with his former mentor, he couldn’t. His cycle wasn’t able to match the speed with the Batmobile, not a lot could keep up with it. Before he could make it to their destined location, he could hear Batman in his ear. ”Don’t wait up.” Within a minute or two he was parked beside the Batmobile that had been planted for at least thirty seconds, quickly lifting his leg off his bike to hop off of it. Examining where Batman had gone, it wasn’t that had to tell where he had entered the building. Not wanting to distract him, he let out a sigh of disbelief. ”You were never one to just wait. Were you?” Questioning himself about the Dark Knight, which he already knew the answer to. Slipping his grapple gun from one of his compartments on his suit, ascending to the fourth floor. It would be best if they took different floors of the building; Bruce didn't need his assistance with taking on street thugs. In an instant shurikens shattered the window that made it his entrance.

Glass scattered on the ground, kneeling from his sudden appearance. Before he could even stand one of the thugs swung a bat close to his head, immediately dodging the blow. Using his palm to smack into his nose, dazing him for a few seconds. With the time he was given, he took it to his advantage to use the thugs body as a weapon and tossed him into the others. ”Should I be calling you Bat-man now?” He had stated to mock him at his poor attempt to gain the advantage. As the others got right back up, he ran towards them. Using the wall to his advantage, scaling onto it to gain leverage. Kicking the first one in the face, knocking him on his back. As the others went in for a cheap shot, he quickly acted on it. Ducking under the strike he had removed his escrima sticks from their holster; in the same instant. Smashing the escrima sticks into their skulls, and knocking them onto their buddy that had laid unconscious. With only one still able to speak he slowly holstered his weapons. Reaching out to grab him by the collar, quickly raising him up and then slamming him into the wall. ”I’m looking for answers. I hope you can tell me, because I’m the good cop. You don’t want to meet the bad cop.” Knowing how fast he worked, he was either right behind him or would be here in no time. ”You don’t want to meet him, trust me. He’s just like Squidward, but ten times worse.”With that smart a** remark, he waited for a response. Hopefully it wasn't the normal bad guy answer too, hopefully this guy was willing to just answer truthfully.

Red Hood
Died on the job, got better.

"Never enter a room without knowing the way out," Jason mused quietly, one arm flopped over his stomach as he gazed upward. It was something Bruce had said to him plenty of times before and it was just now resonating for some reason. He was laying on a dusty old pipe unseen and out of sight and was pretty comfortable for the most part. Especially for a warehouse down in the Industrial district. Some low lives trying to ship Bane his special green juice and it just so happened another batch of thugs would come in, bags in hand and laughter expelling from their mouth's. Inside the bags were stolen jewels. He knew this after hearing one yell out, "Look at the loot we got from the Diamond District. Little wimps didn't know what hit em'." You're probably thinking the same thing Jason was. Wimps? Really? Unfortunately for them and very fortunately for a certain helmet wearing vigilante, their night was about to make a turn for the worst. "Time for the fun part." he said, rolling over on the pipe to drop down, using himself as a weapon to take down the two armed guys covering lookout. He dragged their bodies behind some old equipment then peered down over the railing the lower level of the place. Several of the men continued to unload their scores as quickly as possible but not quick enough for...Wait.

Jason could only let out a sigh as he heard the sound of a gun loading. How he managed to let this bozo sneak up on him was beyond him. Certainly this was something he wouldn't be sharing with anyone else. He flipped up kicking the bigger man back accidentally causing them to pull their trigger multiple times. So much for a incognito approach. Then again silence never really was his play. It was always Batman's. And no one needed to remind Jason Todd, he was no Batman. That was something he would always be certain he wasn't. "It's the Hood! Shoot him!" he finished disarming the bigger threat and turned a brow rose beneath his helmet standing up again. "Is that anyway to treat a guest guys? I promise I'm not trying to steal from you. Maybe kick your butts a little. And send you to jail. But definitely not stealing." They obviously weren't amused by his charm. Then again not many were. Not that he cared anyway.

He used the equipment around him as a way to shield from gunfire and game plan for taking out these guys. There were six by his count. Three with guns three on their way to get guns. So by his estimate, he had a three minute window. Take out the gunmen, blow up the canister they were about to dash pass to get the other rifles, then retrieve the items before this place went up in flames. It was a pretty solid plan. They continued riddling the pipes he hid behind until they weren't. Like all guns, they needed to reloaded from time to time aka his opportunity to get close. Coming out of hiding, Red Hood hopped over the railing taking each man by the head and bashing them together. After sticking his landing he would kneel for better aim, revealing two .22 pistols. Firing precise shots at the canister so that it wouldn't blow immediately but instead start smoking, giving all of them a running chance. Hopefully they took it because this was a one time deal he'd be letting them go.

Why, well because his phone's been ringing. And that only happened when something bad had happened. One call from Al and another from Babs followed by a text. It was safe to say, something was definitely up. But by the time he received those messages and calls, he already found himself laying up in the ceiling, staking these idiots out. He watched as some of the clowns helped up their friends while others hightailed it for themselves. He recovered the satchel filled with diamonds and other jewelry inside and tossed it over his shoulder. By his count he had twenty seconds now. He started running towards another exit seeing as those ungrateful son of a...well they locked the door. "Never enter a room without knowing the way out," he repeated, looking up to the window, shooting the glass out of it, and then jumping through. He much preferred the consequences to the fall than dying in an explosion again. Been there did that. Wasn't exactly fun.

Jason’s mouth quirked with amusement, a little snort escaping him as that thought passed through his mind. Laughing to hide the pain? Check. "Well, that's done. Time to see what all the fuss is about." he took out his phone, the screen a little cracked thanks to his impromptu fall. "Thanks again, assholes." he said, raising the phone to his ear and listening to his voice mails. "Master Jason, please when you receive this...I'm afraid something terrible has happened. Master Damian has been taken by the League of Assassins. Master Bruce has requested I call in everyone to help." Jason finished getting onto his bike when the message ended. "Never heard Al sound so distraught. I mean, the kids a real piece of work but I would hate if something were to happen to him." Jason said to himself, speeding off in the direction of Wayne Manor.

A awhile later, helmet removed, Jason arrived at the cave to see his missed briefing. Then again, what else was new? From what he'd seen, Batman had already left along with Nightwing. And Batgirl and Red Robin were on their way to doing the same if not gone already. He kept the engine on his bike going and strode over to Alfred then glancing over to Bluebird who was doing the walk of shame up the steps. He knew that look well. When Bruce was adamant about not letting you be involved in something--he could be downright scary. "Sorry I'm late. Business in the Industrial District. Where's everyone going? And I know the kid was taken and all..But seriously why all the long fac--Talia?" Jason stuttered, seeing Ra's daughter present. How could he have missed her of all people? Maybe he subconsciously thought she was Selina or maybe his eyes just didn't want to believe it. It was awhile since they'd last seen each other and for good reason. He shifted eyes back to Alfred as he filled him in. All which was good enough for him. "I'll head to the Slums, see what I can find. Al. you need to..I don't know. Have some tea or something. Just get some rest. By the time you awaken, the kid'll be with us again being all Princey and what not." Jason said, trying his best to comfort him. He looked Talia's way one more time before turning on a heel to get back on his cycle. Revving the engine to life then circling it to sped out of the cave. Maybe he would have better luck in the Narrows. Nothing happened without those guys knowing.

Moments after Tim had dismounted his motor-bike his communicator would begin to sound. Upon answering Red Robin would be greeted by a heavily distorted voice; hello Timothy. The voice spoke, waiting just a moment before continuing. You're probably wondering who I am and how I was able to isolate this frequency. I can assure you, at this moment, none of that matters. If you want to save your little friend you're going to have to listen to me. Very, very carefully. Better yet, don't take my word for it. I'll provide an example.

Tim's communication hologram would suddenly light up, footage of Robin appeared. He was tied to a wall by his left wrist. In the feed Robin was approached by a man dressed in a Batman cowl. There was an exchange of words back and forth, but it was clear Robin was visibly irritated. Once the brief exchange was finished Robin spat on the man

"And you need to remember that all you are, is just another one of Talia's pets! She barks a order and you follow. So how about you do us both a favor you shithead and let me free. Maybe just maybe if you do, I won't break too many of your bones." were the words that passed through Robin's mouth before being promptly punched in the stomach. From the look on his face it was clear that extensive damage had been done to the boy as blood spilled from his mouth. That wasn't the end, however as the man's knee snapped up to connect with Robin's jaw followed by the back of the man's hand being brought heavily across his face. After that the stream ended. The voice spoke again.

If you wish for your friend to remain unharmed you'll come to warehouse #25 in Burnley. You will come alone and unarmed. If you use your communicator to contact anybody other than myself, I will be alerted immediately and give the order for your precious Robin to be shot on site. Do I make myself clear? Good. Now, I'm forwarding you the coordinates to my location. Be there within the next ten minutes or your friend dies.
The voice went silent for another moment, before finishing. Farewell for now Timothy, we'll be seeing each other very soon. With that, the communication went dead.

Deathstroke sat back in his chair, his eye fixed on the monitor propped upon the wooden table before him. The lense of his helmet glowed a dull red as Slade began tossing a knife into the air and catching it within his gloved hand. Children were so easy to manipulate; show them something that looked remotely realistic. Something that could possibly be tangible and they were yours. Captivated. They believed you.

Slade monitored the screen before him, leaning in to punch in a command that caused the camera to zoom in on Red Robin and Batgirl. Of course Slade wasn't fool enough to believe Red Robin would come alone; let alone unarmed. But his point had been made. Hosun had provided him with the footage of Damian's beating as well as use of all security cameras located in the Burnley district. Rising to his feet Deathstroke walked away. It was time to prepare for the arrival of his guests.

The Narrows

"Our brothers are reporting no sightings of the Batman nor any of his family." The League assassin reported to the Bronze Tiger who was crouched over the side of a building, taking in the sights of the slums below. Every inch of Gotham oozed with violence and corruption but here in the Narrows , the blight was particularly notable. Something about the Narrows made it a breeding ground for crooks and murders of every kind. Perhaps it was the close proximity to the Asylum? Who could say. The thought of it all brought a bad taste to Bronze Tiger's tongue. Gotham was a disease upon this earth, a festering cesspool of violence and crime that was never ending.

Bronze Tiger or Ben Turner as was his actual name, had been glad to hear that the time to scour the city clean of it's filth had finally arrived. The city and it's protectors had long been a thorn in his master's side. He could not deny that the Batman and his allies were worthy foes and it was not shocking that they had managed to fight off the inevitable for as long as they had. Unfortunately, no one crossed paths with the League of Assassins and simply walked away with it. Their demise had been predetermined the moment they had sought to oppose Ras Al Ghul.

"This does not surprise me." Turner had replied, dragging a whetstone across the edge of the long knife in his hand, sending sparks in every direction. "They've convened. We've taken something precious to them. The Son of the Bat. They will not take this insult lightly."He went on, continuing to sharpen his knife. No, they would do everything in their power to find the young lord. They would scour every inch of this city for anyone or any clue that could link them to where Damian was. They would take risk. They would make a mistake. The Narrows would be one of the first areas they would search. Who would arrive? He could not say. It didn't matter. All he had to do was wait.

Red Hood
Died on the job, got better.

The Narrows also known as the Slums, one of the worst places in Gotham. Which was saying something considering this whole city was full of rapists, murders, and *****. But the Narrows made all of that seem normal compared to the things that went down. You had slave fights, dog fights, any type of fight you name it and they had it. Not just that but you had your hardcore dealers who didn't play about their money. You really didn't want to be late if you owed them. This wasn't like in the movies where you'd get a warning via a good old fashion a** kicking. More like a bullet through your wife's skull while she and the children were forced to watch. Sick stuff like that happened all the time down here.

And the worst part to Jason? Definitely had to be the stench of this place. It was literally the worst smell since...well, Joker. Seriously least the clown had a reason for it. Falling in a batch of chemicals that would go on to permanently ruin his dating life, psyche, and well everything else'll do that to you. But the Slums didn't have a reason. He remembered living on these very streets scavenging for food. "Enough strolling down memory lane. Time to get to work. Now. If I were a couple of pajama wearing blowhards with swords, where else would my hideout be other than the last place any law enforcement would dare come to?" The question was rhetorical if that wasn't clear enough. His whole point to drive over here was because he believed the League was smart. In fact he knew Ra's and his goons weren't just your average run-of-the-mill mall cops. They were a pay grade or two above that, just a little.

They knew the best way to remain off the grid was to go to where going off the grid was founded. Now, he just needed to ask around and see what he could find out. Another reason why Jason loved the Slums aside from it's lawless restrictions was that he could rough up any guy he saw without having to catch them in a shady alley. Approaching the bouncer, costumed and all, they started for their sidearm and Jason could only help but sigh. "Really? You must be new in town." Jason started, about to do away with the gym-rat before the owner, Mario, came running out in a purple suit hands raised between the two of them. "Hold hold hold on. Jimmy, now is that anyway to treat a celebrity? This is the Red Hood for crying out loud. What are ya' blind? Tsk, tsk, please Mr. Hood excuse my idiot worker. You know the new guys. Always looking to prove themselves." Jason became less tense and out of stance for a fight, still glaring at "Jimmy". "Just don't let it happen again." he stated, more so to the big oaf than Mario. They had a pretty good relationship. Mario gave him information and Jason didn't kick Mario's s**t in.

"Follow me and we'll talk in private." he lead Jason away to a private vicinity where no one else was around to hear or see. "I need info Mar'. I need to know if you've seen any ninjas running around." Mario began to laugh but Jason just folded his arms showing he was serious. "Oh..um, you're serious? I actually haven't come across any "ninjas". What do they look like?" He wanted to get annoyed by the question but how could he? It was pretty ******** weird. They actually wore the whole get-up and all. With a sigh, Jason turned and walked away leaving Mario. "If I see anything, I'll call ya! Promise." He needed another lead. But these guys barely gave a whiff of their existence. This was going to be hard.

Selina was finally coming to. Again, she was met with the sensation of movement and a throbbing headache. Underneath her, the wheels of a gurney gave little metallic squeaks as they turned. A hospital? Was she safe? It was darker than a hospital though. A hospital would have meant bright lights and she could perceive no light through her closed eyes.

Still coursing through her system, the fear toxin kept her heart rate elevated and her system stressed. Fear surged through her and sent her mind spinning incoherently. She noticed she had stopped moving.
Footsteps faded away. A door swung and hissed shut.
As she rose to consciousness, none of her thoughts made sense. She went to move her limbs, and again, found herself restrained. Strapped to the cart. When she opened her eyes, she surveyed the exam room around her. She lay in a dim, green-tinged exam room lined with monitors, some of them displaying a feed of herself spread out and strapped to the examination table. She didn’t recognize this place. Various steel medical instruments gleamed on a nearby cart and sent a chill through her.
She could see in the screens that her mask had been removed. Her sweat-drenched hair felt cold against her forehead and the hard steel beneath her. Her boots were also missing. Out of the frying pan into the fire.
After the trauma of the evening, Selina didn’t try to fight her restraints.
She lay in a defeated silence, not wanting to address her captor. A tear leaked from the corner of her eye and slid over her cheekbone and into her ear.
