Avvisi squinted at the weird color and that weird... noise, that just seemed to come out of no where. She pulled out her microphone. The tealblood rewound her recording device and listened carefully, trying to hear for that... that honk...

"Anyway, im sure the basement has a way more sturdy floor. I bet we will be fine-" The girl spoke too soon, and she frowned as she pulled her boot back to see a sticky puddle...

Makkah followed Avvisi down the stairs to the basement. This seemed like it'd be a lot safer of a route. She reached into her bag to ready her camcorder when she heard Avvisi stop suddenly.

Makkah's foot confidently stomped right into the gross sticky puddle that her friend had just become the victim of.

Cynril thought tonight would be better than last night. Apparently not, as trolls were also looking around by the time he got there. He just had to be cool and... avoid feeling as if they are invading his space.

Well, sort of they were invading. I mean... how many sweeps did I live down here? Cynril thought while he tried to take off the goo from his shoe for the millionth time. What if they found something of his though? Something that managed to stay here that would clearly show who he was? Cyn didn't want to think about it... Knowing his morail's... ghost could probably be lurking around... He shuddered at the thought.

Cynril was about to leave, yet something else called his attention. He swore someone called him and as he looked back, it seem that whatever it was lurked near the cage. It drew him in, slowly Cynril walked his way towards his old cage. He looked around it, remembering his time inside. Then he looked into the chasm and gulped. It only took one wrong step to...

He felt pressure on his lower back, making his skin crawl. Cynril turned around and saw nothing. He looked down the chasm again and felt the floor giving out, making Cynril fall into the catacombs.

Avvisi frowned with Makkah. "Uck, i dont know, and i dont think i want to know.." She responded, feeling the resistance as she tried to lift her foot. "Well hey! Its better than something like the floor caving in."

"Looking for clues here as to why the ghosts are agitated is a good idea. But I think it’s also worth theorizing if external factors could be playing into this as well." Kwelin made a face as the group walked through a large puddle of slime. It wasn’t that he would have a meltdown if he was dirty but nobody liked sticky shoes. Gross. He focused on the case again despite the feeling of someone warm and wiggly waking up inside his jacket. He didn’t exactly want Pawpa to get loose and start terrorizing other trolls for fun.

"For example, one possible theory is that the squatters that pass through here could have talked about world events that triggered a reaction in the spirits. The Civisect Tower collapse could be upsetting to someone that died from it or the Chittentown Space Mission could spark feelings of jealousy from someone who wanted to travel to space." He began to scribble these notes down in a small leather notebook. Not all of his ideas would pan out but he wanted to record them anyways.

"Or there’s the spaceship that landed just off the coast of here. If ghosts can move, this location could have been flooded with new spiritual inhabitants that are irritating the old ghosts. What do you think?" He looked to Philip and crossed his arms. He didn’t expect Avvisi to care much about theorizing why the ghosts were upset but rather to focus on getting footage of them. Or footage of people crashing through the floor to put together a montage for the media to sensationalize. Meanwhile Makkah seemed to view this as a game rather than a real case.

"Those are both good theories." Philip mused as Kwelin looked to him for input. The blueblood had a great critical mind for things like this. Both ideas sounded plausible to be honest. It made Philip wonder if there were ghosts wandering the streets of NHC, watching the city live and change. Did they like watching how the future grew? Or were they watching how the past disappeared?

"I wonder if the ghosts are painting unfinished business with each other across the hive? I didn't think to ask Glamis if they can see each other and communicate directly." The detective thought out loud. He wanted to assume they could but anything was possible. Maybe they were scratching messages on the walls of this place. It was sort of scary to think of what the ghosts had gone through and how they were holding onto that pain. Revenge didn't end with death if both parties survived to the afterlife.

"I wish I'd heard more about what happened here." The hemoanon boy admitted, rubbing his neck frustrated. It was hard to theorize too much when he barely knew anything about the place or it's inhabitants. Perhaps he should turn back and interview Glamis some more. The blueblood seemed a little intimidating but he was a detective! He couldn't let something as simple as that scare him off the case! Then a piece of the ceiling snapped and crashed to the ground beside him! Philip flinched backwards, holding his arms in front of Kwelin to protect him as well. It was an unnecessary move, seeing as Kwelin was further away, but once that had come to him instinctively.

"Whoa! Guess now we're on the other side of the floor coming down!" He quipped nervously, though he saw the humor in it too.

"I feel like there was a lot of research that could have been done here. Would have made for an amazing story." The tealblood lamented her faults, and vowed to do better next time.

Honestly, Cynril was scared to explore the rest of the hive. He felt guilty if he did so. That got them culled in the first place. We should've never gone out of our cage...

Cynril pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to keep away even more negative thoughts that could make him cry long for it. Nevermind that, what was important now was to take anything that would scream his name and take it back with him.

Ooh! He found something! Great, one item obtained and plenty more to find! Cynril wouldn't help but smile at the progress he had done. He was truly learning how to take care of himself step by step. Hopefully, he would fall down to the catacombs again...

Cynril stepped closed around the cage once more... the chasm calling his name once more. Why? Why was this all torturing him so? The guilt, he could feel it choking him. Cynril took another deep breath and held it as he looked down. The lower back pressure... he felt it once more. Was it some supernatural being telling him to jump? To die?

Or to simply escape this hell house?
