Give me tips on Devil Within... I finally mastered the timing with jumping (and it pissed me off, too), but I still die a lot in level 4. Please, at least tell me that that is the last level. I'm only playing it for the fight money you get when you beat it.

Indigo_Blue P34ch35 EndlessDark Indigo_Blue Jinpachi's not even all that cheap ( I play SNK fighters alot, so I'm used to cheapness). The real problem I have with him is that stun move he does when he makes his hand glow purple and hit you with it. It's not that much of a problem but it's annoying. Yeah true. 3nodding you can't do anything until he hits you again and you can get up off the floor sweatdrop Not that much of a problem? It's unblockable, has fairly good range, very good, amazing priority, sets up ANY combo (even fireballs). It's that one move that makes him unbeatable, it's not annoying, it's the most broken thing in any fighting game I've ever seen. He can take 3/4 of your life with it and then set up an oki situation leading to another stun. He's not unbeatable, for one. I've beaten him several times on the hardest difficult. I guess I was speaking for myself when I said it wasn't that much of a problem, since fighting games come natural to me. The idea is the force him to make a pattern ( not actually make him...), one that you can easy adapt to and use against him. How do you that? That can't be taught. He's speaking moreso from a generalized area. As in if Jinpachi was playable, he'd be unbeatable. The AI falls for stupid s**t, and therefore is a HORRIBLE basis of whether or not a character is good. Violet: I don't play Devil Within. I play Tekken. Sorry :/ There's a really good walkthru on gameFAQs though if I remember correctly. There are also 500k items available so you don't have to spend your money on them.

I cant beat him with Mokujin.. Well.. Mokujin ish my favorite.. Just spam simple stuff. The AI is easy. I think people don't seem to understand the purpose of this thread. This is to make you better at the game entirely so that you can play against other people. :/

What would you say is the best way to learn how to counter throws? The AI never tried them on me, and I doubt my friends are gonna fight me with only throws so I can learn how. Suggestions?

Pwn: !!! AWESOME question. This is something everybody should do.
Select Practice mode. Pick your character, then pick your opponent. When you pick your opponent, make sure you pick a different one each time so that you get used to everybody's animations. I would suggest picking whomever your friends use most often, and once you start to get comfortable, move on to commonly selected characters (ie: Steve, Nina, Feng Wei, Bryan, Devil Jin). Then start moving on to members of the cast you don't play against often.
When you start up training mode, hit right two or three times until you get to "Defensive Training/Mode." Go to command list and scroll all the way down. Select the characters 1+3, 2+4, and one of their 1+2 grabs (ie: for Feng Wei, pick 1+3, 2+4, and d/f+1+2). Click start, then hit select. The AI will sit there and attempt to throw you with one of the three throws selected.
The way you break the throw is by hitting 1, 2, or 1+2 depending on the throw. Most people try to see the start-up animation, but what you should be looking at is the opponent's arms. For 1 breaks, their left arm is higher than their right. For 2 breaks, vice versa. For 1+2 breaks, the arms will stick straight out. On a note, 2 breaks also usually have the character pivot their upper body so they can reach out with the right arm.
This will be great practice since most generic throws are 12 frames. Upon being grabbed, you've got somewhere around a 4-8 frame window to break the grab. Long range throws are 16 frames. This gives you even more time to see the break.
Throw breaking is super, mega important. If you watch videos of high level tournament play, you'll notice that they hardly ever get thrown. This doesn't mean you should throw them, quite the opposite. Just expect it to be broken. Truth from ATL, a very very good player, said it best when he said, "Everyone these days are breaking grabs. I throw them when I don't know what to do and need some more time to think about what's next. If it lands, I'm happy as can be."

Sounds...Simple enough? xd So basically, if I mess with my controls a bit and put 1+2 on one of the R or L buttons, I can just hit that to break, right? Or should I practice with the normal controls?

Normal controls only. Macro buttons are not allowed in tournament play. The reasoning behind it is that if it were meant to be a one button command, they'd have made it a one button command as opposed to two buttons.
Basically you want to train yourself to see the arms.
