Port Dark Water

[Fao Lanni]

The ride was rough, which was new. It use to be so smooth that you could easily drift off to sleep.

Now, even with the rough ride, she didn't dare to fall asleep. There were too many people on board she didnt' trust even with her eyes open. How did Meeky live with these people?

But then again, Meeky was the one who left to...

No!

She wouldn't think of it.

She turned her face to the glass and looked into her reflection. They were twins, Meeky and her, and at one time they looked exactly alike.

But that had changed.

She wondered if she would recognize her sister if all she had to go on was a name.

Would anyone there know Meeky?

Would Meeky know her?

And would HE let Meeky go if He was still there?

She didn't have any answers, but soon she would.

She had dragged Rusty all the way home, looking out for Kethean the whole time.

And yet there was no sign of her fellow pirate. That worried her, but Kethean was known to wander off and forget to come back so she'd just have to wait, Until then...

"Food!" She released Rusty's hand and started digging around in the kitchen. Rusty started cleaning off their dining table as she finally discovered edible stuff and together they worked on preparing a meal.

And together they ate, both devouring their food.

After that....well, everything else could wait for a bit. They both needed a nap and so, with Rusty curled up beside Meeky, they rested for a bit.

Why is it that food will always make someone sleepy?

Ah well.

'Last stop! Dark Water! All passengers are asked to exit the train and....'

Lanni got up and grabbed her small bag, exiting the train with the rest, stopping for a moment on the platform to take a good look around. She had known it had changed. She had thought she was prepared.

She was not.

The train station was right near the docks and where once there had been beautiful clear waters only a sea of slate grey met her eyes.

She felt like crying.

But that would have been seen as a sign of weakness and this was not a place for weakness. No. She squared her shoulders and lifted her head high. She had some hunting to do.

Okay.

Now she was lost.

Great.

"Just what I needed! To get lost in this place!" She crossed her arms and looked around her, severly annoyed. When everyone who looked at her scurried off she sighed and let her shoulders droop.

How the hell was she going to get any help? Because she seriously needed some if she was to find her sister.

Choosing a direction at random she started walking again.

"Maybe I need to follow Meeky's old advice...'When in doubt, go to a bar!'" She smiled. "It always seemed to work for her."

Well, she had found a bar easily enough, but no one was talking which was odd. They kept pointing to her mask and whispering. . .

It was getting a little annoying.

She'd have three more drinks and then she was leaving.

The door to the bar was kicked in.
A hundred men with guns filtered in.
An uncountably large force of the exact same men waited outside.
"Surrender now, and no one gets hurt."
These clones meant business.

Sipping her third drink, Lanni looked around and sighed. Still no one. . .maybe she should just go n-

"Excuse me, miss?"

She looked up at the man who had approached. Or what she could see from under his hat.

"Yes?" She tensed, ready for an attack, just in case.

"may I sit down, you look like you could use the company" Lanni waved to the seat beside her and he sat down, ordering a drink. He sipped at his drink for a bit before turning to look at her again. "I think I know what you're looking for miss.....although, I think you should stop looking. She's still a part of our crew, no matter what she has become."  

[Meeky]

Meeky had woken up to the sound of hundreds of men going by. That was an odd sound here in Dark Water and she told Rusty to stay back while she investigated.

Following them she saw them surround one of her favourite bars and she grew annoyed. No one hurt the things she liked. She did not wake up to watch this happen.

Luckily, this could easily be fixed. A channel ran near the street and all she had to do was open the gate and let the water pour down the road, washing away the strangers.

She ran off quickly in the direction of the gate, planning to apologize for the water damage later.

She swore as the men poured in to the bar. Just when she was finally going to get some information, they were interrupted.

She heard the man beside her laugh and turned to him.

"This always seems to happen in anything involving her." He smiled and handed her a rolled piece of paper. "Open this later when you're alone. I don't need this getting out to the streets. It's all the information I'll give you for now."

With that he lunged towards the men with guns, dodging their bullets and causing enough of a distraction that Lanni could sneak out the back of the bar, the piece of paper held tightly in her hands.

The entire district was filled with the clones. Even the back door to the bar had clones by it.
The man's attacks managed to take down three or four of them before they incapacitated him. The only thing to take a large amount of damage was the bar.  

[Meeky]

Meeky reached the gates easily enough, but the rusted lock on the doors was becoming a bit of a problem.

"Since when did anything here actually work?" She growled and pawed at it, but it wasn't coming undone. The noise level down the road grew louder. It seemed someone inside the bar had started attacking and one of the voices....

....sounded familiar? Her head turned and her ears perked forward, straining to hear the voice she though belonged to...

But no. She didn't hear it again and shook her head, turning back to the lock. She couldn't pick it because the inside had rusted away so all that was left was....

"Awww, I ahte doing this, but it seems there is no choice." Stepping back from the lock, she took a deep breath and braced herself, lifting her scarf away from her back and revealing a wing tattoo. The air around her slolwy grew heated until suddenly, the wings burst into flames causing Meeky to gasp from the pain.

Steeling herself, she reached behind and grabbed one of the wings, pulling it away from her body. As it left her skin it took the form of a blade and quickly, she sliced through the lock.

The water rushed out, cooling her skin and causing both the remaining wing and blade to vanish. She braced herself and held onto the gate as the water pushed past her, flowing down the street and hitting full force into the men who still stood outside her bar.

That would teach people not to mess with her stuff.

a gang of biker bunny plushies riding motot bikes tore through the streets of the crooked port side knocking out and carrying away the many Ace clones
"king of the road! duh duh duh duh duh! kiiiiiiing of the rooooooooad!"
and carried them away to another district where they could continue there rampant rabble rousing
