Noxness `Tahirah memorizing hiragana, ftl.
I'm too old for a new language. >< Spectral in heaven as climbs the frail veiled moon,
Are you going to Japan?
So climbs my dream. -William Rose Benet perhaps some day. I'm taking the language in college as extra credit hours. ;P I'm sure it'll help eventually; I sure as hell don't remember spanish anymore (nor do I want to take it again).

I always get the use for Hiragana and Katakana mixed up. I know my name in one of them because when I went to teach in Japan it was on my Hanko razz

Hiragana is a lot closer to the english alphabet. It's just used for sounds really and has no meaning to the characters like Kanji does.
Katakana is used for sounds in terms of onomatopoeia, crash, bang, boom etc.
Haven't gotten into katakana yet, nor Kanji.

Thanks for clearing that up. I wish that they had offered Japanese where I went to University.. There are so many Kanji neutral Apparently you need to know at least 3000 to read a Japanese newspaper. One of the women I met over there was studying Japanese and her Kanji dictionary was enormous. Kudos to you for learning another language. Last language I took was grade 9 French. stare

Haha, yeah. I'm in 101, so I'm just learning the basics. I'm not sure if we really will get into Kanji much or not. So far, I like the class. Our sensei was born and raised in Japan, so we're also getting a huge culture lesson at the same time.
sorry for the late reply... my two new DS games came in. surprised
