Mairi immediately put and arm up to block when Sakura grabbed the bag, an instinct she didn't think she'd ever loose.Her eyes widely slightly in surprise though when Raen stopped her.She'd heard people stick up for her before, sure.But to have someone actually intervene when she was going to get hit was a new one.She felt a twinge of guilt when she saw Raen bleeding but stayed put, watching as he took on the big jock in silence.What really hit her was the insult from the swim team girl.Turning on her heel she took off running in the other direction, not slowing as she stooped a snagged up her pack on the way before disappearing out the double doors at the other end.Her first year at a new school wasn't turning out to be much different from the others.

Raen had gotten his nose dealt with as he stalked out of the school, bandages around his injured hand. His pack was slung over his shoulder as he stalked through the parking log, his long jacket swaying around his calves. He glanced towards Mairi. "Insults pass, but those who will stand by your side won't," he said in a low voice as he slung a leg over the Harley motorcycle he'd rebuilt. "Nobody seems to realize that misfits need to stick together... and I fit more like a meteor in a swimming pool," he muttered.

Kitai flinched; she could see through the lethal and distrustful aura to the sensitive, kind and gentle soul beneath.

Mairi was half way across the parking lot shredding her drawings to pieces as silent tears streaked her face.She hadn't heard Raen, then again she wouldn't hear anyone with her music blasting as loud as it was.Finally, fed up with destroying one of the few things that set her apart from the rest of the school she climbed into her old 1958 black Plymouth Fury.She watched mutely as a breeze picked up and scattered the ripped shreds of paper off, though a few pages were still fully intact.Starting up the engine she sat for a moment before pulling out of the parking space.

Kártes watched in shock as Mairi tore up her drawings.He felt each stab of hurt she felt as she made one tear after another.He couldn't believe that one insult had finally sent her over the edge.

Raen had pulled out just before Mairi and accelerated rapidly towards the exit with Limp Bizkit pounding in his ears. His irises began deepening in color until it was a dark navy blue while it swirled, unknowingly drawing upon his true nature as he sped down the road to home. He didn't notice the clouds darkening above him as a storm rolled in, only the anger he felt at the injustice of insulting the 'skitch b***h', which he found to be a damned idiotic insult. "I'm sick of the insults... sick of the anger... it's time someone stood up to them," he growled as lightning struck the street a few feet in front of him before he shot through the glare of the lightning.

Mairi pulled off the main road into the local park and sat watching as the sky darkened and the storm started.Flicking on her cd player, Disturbed filled the silence in the car, drowning out the patter of the rain.Her eyes had turned a pale silver, though she didn't notice as she watched the storm worsen some "Guess they're right..I am a freak.." She shut off the car and sat there, not wanting to go home, yet not having anywhere else to go instead.

Raen had pulled off a side road parallel to the same park Mairi was at though he was utterly unaware of the other girl's presence as he got off the bike with a growl and a sneer. He started running up the steep slope before he pushed off the top, vaulting into the trees and swinging from branch to branch nearly twelve feet off the ground before he started leaping from branch to branch much like a monkey though he never stopped moving. A crack of thunder echoed, the flash of lightning highlighting a branch that was falling before Raen impulsively ran up the trunk of the tree before pushing off and running along the side of the foot thick branch parallel to the ground in a very dangerous movement before he swung beneath a thick branch and let go, landing in a creek several yards from the edge of the park as a echoing crunch sounded as the branch he'd swung from gave way as the falling branch impacted it. He didn't seem to notice or care about the icy water or rain pounding on his head nor the slight streaks of black dye running over his jacket as the natural deep grayish silver color of his hair was revealed as he charged recklessly up the hill before carelessly vaulting over the six foot wall into the park itself. He quickly ran across a clearing to a climbing wall before climbing it and leaping off of the nine foot tall wooden structure, catching the rope used to climb across to the platform almost a third of the way across before swinging hand over hand as he cleared it and leaped the four foot drop to the ground, rolling through the landing. It was obvious in his anger... he had the urge to move and keep moving until he was either exhausted or the anger faded away. It was obvious that the former was more likely to happen as he went to duck under a chin-up pole only to hit it full force with his head, knocking his glasses off and leaving a bleeding cut above his left eye though he got to his feet and stomped towards the monkey bars, not seeming to notice as he crushed the sunglasses with the third step he took as he quickly swung across before swinging back and repeating it in the other direction two more times.

Mairi sat quietly in her car, not hearing the rumble of the motorcycle through the storm, and contemplated on going home or to her nan's house.Looking at the passenger's seat again, she touched the cover of her art journal lightly, starting to regret tearing up her drawings.With a small sigh, she looked back out the windshield and froze seeing someone ran face first into the chin-up pole and then continued on their little tirade.Unable to see who it was through the torrents of rain, she climbed out of the car, pulling the hood of her jacket up in the process.Wrapping her arms around herself, shivering slightly from the icy water, she watched as Raen threw his tantrum "Hey!" She glanced up as a crack of thunder sounded, drowning her out.With a sigh she moved closer, yelling to be heard over the storm "Hey!Your going to get sick if you stay out here!" She recognized him though she she still felt a little guilt from before, she was more worried about the blood on his face.Shifting from foot to foot, she shivered and flinched when lightening struck a yard or so away from her.

Raen glanced up to the sky, not seeming to notice the rain pelting him as it rinsed away the majority of the blood though more quickly joined it. "If I do, it's because I'm sick of those damned stuck up little shits," he barked back towards Mairi, the suppressed bitterness he'd held back so long surfacing though he knew if Mairi paid attention that it wasn't directed at her.

Kitai winced when Raen slammed his head hard into the chin-up bar, but recognized the furious movements; it reminded eerily reminded her of Tatsushin when he got upset.

Mairi cringed slightly at his tone but stayed put "Your doing exactly what they want though.Your letting them get under your skin." Her head was pounding and her shivering grew worse as the rain came down harder "Your being an idiot..." Giving up, she turned and started to make her way back to her car.Fumbling with her keys, she scowled slightly when she dropped them and they slid under the edge of the car.Crouching down, she looked under the car.Spotting the keys, she stretched out on her stomach and tried to reach them.

Kártes watched with little surprise as Mairi tried to get the boy to see some sense.It seemed even in their shared hate of a particular group she had the level head in this one.

Raen paused at Mairi's words, frowning before another clap of thunder and lightning highlighted a foot and a half thick tree falling directly towards the girl. His eyes narrowed, glowing a heated cobalt blue before he shot straight towards her before he pushed off. "Senkō Shōfū," he snarled as he somersaulted backwards in what was commonly referred to as a 'flash kick' though his foot slammed with a echoing boom into the underside of the tree as he used the kinetic force to freeze the tree's fall for a split second, long enough for him to twist and drive a kick with the equivalent force of a few pounds of dynamite to redirect the tree which slammed into the parking lot just behind Mairi's car.

Kitai blinked when Raen lashed out at the tree, recognizing vestiges of her sensei's Tenshōshin strength technique as the tree hit the asphalt with a heavy crunching boom.

Mairi grabbed the keys just before she heard the loud crunch and let out a shriek when the trees impact on the asphalt actually made the car lift and slam back down.She rolled away from the car before it made contact with the ground again and sat up.Staring at in shock before looking to the tree then to Raen.She still hadn't pieced together that the tree had nearly fallen on her.Standing, she shivered slightly as the rain turned to hail and finally unlocked her car "Do you need a ride somewhere..?" She was mildly surprised to find she could speak evenly after the little bout of terror and that he'd seemingly stopped his rant.

Kártes watched in surprise at the scene.When Mairi had shrieked, a burst of silvery light shot from her, holding up the car long enough for her to roll away.He wondered if Raen had seen it and also wondered why her gifts were showing up at the age of fifteen.

Raen cocked his head, his swirling navy-cobalt irises flickering with indigo edges. "Got a bike on the other side of the trees, but it seems to me it isn't me who needs the ride," he said wryly, tilting his head as the tree had gone clear across the parking lot and blocked the exit with a multitude of branches. "Seems to me this storm's a real b***h," he muttered, gritting his teeth though the pounding of the hail wasn't all that noticeable to him.

Kitai cocked her head, having recognized the other kick as a 'Konoha Tsumuji Senpū'.

Mairi glanced at the tree and then to the clear area beside it "You've never been in a Fury have you?I can make it out alright." She opened the door and leaned in to start up the engine so the interior was wamr when she finally did get in "Exactly why you don't want to be riding a bike in this.We can probably strap it to the car, I've done it before.And your bleeding, which doesn't help. This was the first civil conversation the pair had that spanned more than three words since their first meeting.

Kártes lifted an eyebrow slightly, wondering what had changed that made Mairi even think about giving the kid a ride.Or help him for that matter.

Raen shrugged. "Never seen one outside the magazines; it's a beautiful car with a driver that matches it," he said with a slight smile, meaning it as a compliment rather than how some could think of it... namely as a pick-up line. "Bleeding?" he muttered blankly, not noticing the trickle of blood running down his face.

Kitai giggled slightly, amused; Raen was just as oblivious at times as Tatsushin had been.

Mairi's face started to blushed slightly, but luckily it was hidden by the fact her face was already pink from the cold rain "Right..Do you want a ride or not?" She knew he meant what he'd said as a compliment but for some reason it made her uncomfortable.Pulling her hood a little lower over her face to add a little protection from the hail, she winced when another bolt of lightening struck "Above your eye.I think it happened when you ran into that pole." She glanced through the drivers window, noting the car was still heating up.

Kártes chuckled quietly at Mairi's reaction, wondering if she'd always been uncomfortable talking with boys or just this one in particular.
