The sleeping demon just shuffled in his sleep and turned to his side, his feathery wings climbing over his body to substitute as a blanket.

She sighed, curling up in a ball of the uncomfortable wooden chair. "Goodnight, Alcott...sweet dreams." Closing her eyes, she slowly fell asleep, trembling from the cold, but smiling nonetheless.

The faint chirping of waking birds riled the young man from his sleep. His eyes opened, sea blue and filled with exhaustion despite the sleep he had gone through. His body, aged but still strong, moved into an upward sitting position, one hand on his head. Alcott stared at the sheets over his naked body. What... happened? Why was he naked, why did he feel so much better right now?

Michaela was still curled up in the chair, having spent all night trying to break his latest fever. Her wrists were charred and bright pink from the usual flames, and even her cheeks were still red from the exposure. Yet, she still trembled from the cold, having covered him with her blanket in the middle of the night. She moaned a little in her sleep, biting her still and holding herself tighter in as effort to be warmer.

Hearing a moan, Alcott turned and saw Michaela shivering in her sleep. At first he angrily assumed his demonic side seduced her into bed with him, but even his demon side wouldn't leave her without a bed. That's when he noticed the burns on her arms. There was no doubt his demon side was involved.
Guilt-ridden, the man rose from his bed, not caring about his lack of clothing, and put the blanket around her body. He kept her arms out and carefully placed his hands on them. They were slightly sticky. Summoning his angelic powers, Alcott pulled the water particles together and blessed them into a healing water. It would take a good while, but it was better than letting time handle it.

Michaela awoke the moment his hands touched her wrists. Prying her eyes open, she stared at his face, watching him. After a few minutes, she finally spoke. "Why are you awake? You should be in bed, getting better," she mumbled, barely noticing that the pain in her arms was subsiding, as they'd gone numb so long ago, and not even seeing that he was nude.

"You're one to talk." grunted the man as he kept his gaze on the slowly, very slowly, fading burns. "How'd you get burned? Did I do this to you?" he asked quietly, bracing himself for the worst.

"Not consciously," she said breathlessly. "You had a fever, and there was fire around you. I had to reach through it to reach you so I could try to break your fever. I'm alright, though. They're just burns. Besides, you're better now. That's all that matters." The exhausted young woman closed her eyes, leaning her head back and breathing evenly as she fell back asleep, her necklace glinting in the light.

Alcott glanced up at her briefly, noticing that she was asleep. He was about to turn his gaze back down to the water healing her when he caught sight of her necklace. It looked... so much like Sarah's.

Suddenly, Michaela's body began to tremble as her nightmare began. "No!" she cried out, clenching her thighs together and panting as tears fell down her cheeks. "S-stop! No!"

Alcott nearly jumped when she suddenly began shrieking, but when he noticed what her body was doing, he realized just what was wrong. It hurt him so much to see her like this, to know that he had failed her. He felt as if he let Sarah down. Sarah and Cole.
Seeing Michaela's tears, Alcott clenched his fists and allowed a few murderous thoughts of Alexander run through his mind. He won't get away with this, Alcott silently vowed. Soon enough he slipped his arms over Michaela and lifted her up, setting her on the bed he was on earlier, it was still warm from his demon fever, and laid the blankets over her.

Michaela wrapped her arms around his neck, holding him tightly and refusing to let him go. "D-don't...don't leave...please," she begged him, more tears slipping from her eyes.

The half-breed was surprised to see her react like this, it even made him a little suspicious that she was awake. But even if she was, this was nothing to leave her alone with. Alcott, with a deep sigh, got into the bed beside her. He slowly pulled a thin sheet over his body since he wasn't allowed to gather his clothes right now, and put an arm around Michaela's waist to hold her steadily.

"Pl-please...don't...h-hurt him...n-not him," she muttered in her sleep, crushing herself against his chest. "Not him...not him..." she repeated, gritting her teeth and fighting to not let herself fall completely into the darkness.

Him? Is she talking about me? Alcott thought as he gazed at the mixture of pain and fear drawn on her face. He still wasn't sure what all happened to him back at that strange mansion. He could remember being trapped with Harmana and her sick pleasures, having to watch Michaela be raped as he was himself. Then the new moon came and his rage kind of made him black out...
