The Graveyard

Nikki stood infront of her parents grave.
"Wish you were still here," she sighed and placed flowers on their graves.
Nikki turned around and saw Erik.
"Erik?" she said.

After what seemed like an hour, Erik glanced at his watch then looked around slowly. He was to meet Ray here, but it seems he had forgotten. He sighed softly and ran a hand through his jet black hair. There were people he recognized here, but he didn't want them to see him at his most vulnerable and fragile state. Too late. He heard someone address him and let his emerald eye looked up. "Hello." he said quietly.

"Uhmm... hello," said Nikki."What are you doing here?"
She put her hands behind her back and walked over to him and tilted her head to on side.
"Is this your... fiance grave?"

Erik paused and turned his head away from the graves and Nikki. "It's nothing you have to worry about." he said softly, the side of his head that had his hair covering it facing her.

"Sorry," said Nikki."I'm just curious."

There was a long pause. "...They're my fiance and daughter's graves." he finally said, not turning his head as he felt himself begin to tear up.

"Oh," she said."Hey!Hey I didn't mean to make you cry!"
She said partly shocked to see a guy tear up.

"Don't.... Don't touch me, please." Erik said and backed away, barely looking at Nikki. It was hard. Just a few hours ago he had made a deal to stop two people in love so he could have his family back, but when he saw the lovers, he knew that he had to let them go. And he wanted to, he desperately wanted the pain to go away and to smile again, but he couldn't. He simply couldn't think about starting a new relationship, possibly getting married, having kids... and losing it all again.

"Uhmm...s-sorry," she mumbled."I'm sorry if I upset you.Just don't cry...please?"
Nikki panicked a little.

Don't cry.... Hold it in.... Yes, yes that's what he would do. Erik bottled up the emotions, but he felt that bottle begin the chip, and looked down at Nikki. "I told you it is nothing to worry about." he stated silently, his left emerald eye emotionless.

"Sorry," she said looking down at the ground.

"There is no need to be sorry." Erik said, giving her a small smile. "It was nice having someone care about me." he muttered quietly while rubbing the bridge of his nose to calm himself before he began to choke up again. "Why are you here?" he asked softly.

"Uhmm..I was just visiting my parents grave," she said quietly."I come here every once a week."

He nodded in sympathy and understanding. "I come at least three times a week." he said as he looked down at his daughter's grave. In front of the graves were a dozen roses, each a different color.
