Breaking Point - A TV Lover's Worst Nightmare

Meanwhile, Alan was busy working on something in the back of the Estate.
He was humming a pleasant tune as he worked on some odd invention of his.

He would leave Abagail on her own until she came to him.

Abagail came into the dining room quietly, not looking to interact with the others. She sat down as far away as she could from them, and ate her meal quietly.  

[Zahzi]

Many of the others just stared at her, quizzically.

Abagail could feel the stares of the others. The sense was all to familiar to High School, and how people would stare and whisper about her..

High School.. What a joke, a Hell. The peer pressure, the teachers. You say or do one thing wrong and it sticks with you. And then, suddenly, you're fighting for space and respect because your 'mistake' got the wrong attention. After a few years, people might warm up and be friendly, but you gotta keep up your attitude and shield. It's what they know, what you established. No chance in risking letting it be down.

...Why did she miss this..? It was Hell, torture. So why did Abagail miss it? Why did her eyes burn with tears?

"God damn it..." She choked, rubbing her eyes.

After a few moments, the others all went back to their conversations.
They had mainly looked over to her due to the isolation.

God damn it... Abagail growled to herself as she kept wiping her eyes, unable to stop herself from crying despite how hard she tried. It was embarrassing, to cry in front of strangers.

Not wanting to be further humiliated, she left the dining room, only having a few bites of her meal and leaving the rest untouched and alone on the table.

"Any clue what's wrong with her..?" One of them asked the others.

"No clue....Ain't she the newbie?"

"Yeah, I think so."

After awhile, they went back to their normal conversations.

Alan was whistling jovially as he walked through the hallway, examining a small metallic box.

Abagail had also began to wander the halls, though she was lost and was just wandering aimlessly.
Whether it was good or bad, she collided paths Alan.

"...What do you want?" She grumbled, glaring at him weakly.  

[Zahzi]

Alan looked at her with an eyebrow raised. After awhile, he shrugged.
"Well, seeing as you've asked, do you mind holding this for a moment..?" he asked, holding the metallic box out for her.

Abagail held onto the box as asked and stared down at it curiously.

"...What is it?" She asked, tilting the box around to get a better look.  

[Zahzi]

The box glowed in the center for a few moments before a few sparks flew out, the light going dark.

"Hmmm...Still have some kinks to work out..." Alan sighed, casually taking the box back.

"It's a tiny game creator, if you want to call it anything. I need to find a way to make its power supply use less juice..." he added, looking at it.

"Thanks for helping me with this." he told her with a closed-eyed smile as he turned around, going back to the workshop.

"Can't you just buy a gaming system and be done with it..?" Abagail snorted, rather unamused with the box. And Alan.  

[Zahzi]

"Oh, but how would I invent something like that..?" Alan asked, looking over at her with a smirk.

"Unlike my parents, I don't plan on dealing in drugs or...Whatever my mother did...."

"And why would you want to do anything? You have everything!"  

[Zahzi]

"Boredom, mainly." Alan shrugged.
"Idle hands for someone like me never goes will in society."
