The moon began to rise. A swarm of bats appeared on the horizon and they were all heading towards the church. Tiran smiled.

Noah's eyes widened at the bats. "Holy crap." he said running to the church's bell and crawling under it. "Exodus, you might want to cover your ears!" he said readying his sword hilt to hit the bell hard.

Exodus covered his ears as best as he could before Noah hit the bell. He kept his feet ready to move if he had to.

Noah smiled. "This!" he shouted as he hit the bell. The loud noise rang through the air as the bats scrambled and flew off. Noah came from under the bell. "Loud noises scare bats easily." he said smiling. He clenched his ribs again in pain.

As the bats flew off scared a feint glimmer of light could be seen falling from the bats one of them dropped something shinny
"NO" shouted tiran just before the higher frequency sounds produced by the bell ringing echoed in Tiran's mind "Aaaaaaaaaaaaa" Tiran screamed holding his head in both hands, his eyes began to bulge. Spikes of dark energy shot up from the ground all around Tiran. Tiran vomited on the ground then fell over passing out.

Noah saw the glint of light. He backed up and ran and jumped off the church top, diving for the shard. "Almost there!" he shouted as he tired to grab the shard. He grabbed it and drew his sword, stabbing it into the side of a building. He stopped still hanging on to his sword and began laughing. "I got it!" he said laughing. He dropped down onto the streets with his sword, rolling when he landed. He stood, grabbing his ribs, eying the shard. His leg gave way and he fell to one knee. Crap, my leg. Feels like it's broken, crap this isn't good, he thought as he pocketed the shard.

Tiran opened his eyes and staggered to his feet "No you don't" said Tiran weakly, looking down the edge of the building at Noah.
