Donovan jumped, holding in a yelp, when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He spun around, preparing for the worst only to be faced with Elizabeth. He glanced around nervously before slowly relaxing. It was only then that he noticed her expression and grimaced. "I thought you'd gone back up to your room," he said.

Elizabeth shook her head and stared at him. "No, I was waiting for you to be done talking to the head guard guy. Why are you acting all jumpy and nervious?" she asked, placing a hand on her hip casually as she looked him over carefully, eyes still irrtated slightly.

Donovan frowned and shook his head. "No reason," he said. "The guy just makes me nervous." Then, he quickly changed the subject. "Why did you wait for me? You couldn't seem to get away from me fast enough before." He knew she was irritated but he couldn't understand why. ((Have to go in 3 minutes))

Elizabeth simply sighed and waved her hand, waving the matter off as if it was nothing to her. "No reason I just wanted to see why you acting so... well not youtself around that guy." she said with a shrug.

"Well, now you know," Donovan muttered, hoping she would let it go. Out loud, he said, "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take a shower and get something to eat." As if to reinforce the statement, his stomach let out an angry growl. Rolling his eyes, Donovan stepped past Elizabeth, making his way towards the stairs and up.

Elizabeth knew there had to be something else to the matter but she didn't push it as Donovan headed up the stairs to shower. She sighed and turned and walked out the door and into the driveway and just stood there and stared up at the night sky. Oh how she wished she could be one of those stars in the sky not have to worry about a thing.

Donovan did just as he said he was going to. He grabbed a change of clothes from his room and quickly but thoroughly showered, getting every single drop of blood off him. When he was finally clean, he stepped out and dried off before changing into his new clothes. He put his old clothes in the laundry basket except for his shirt which he just threw out.

After a few more moments staring at the sky she began walking down the driveway once more and then sat in the middle of the road and just stared into the darkness. She didn't think anyone would come down the road at that time of night; however she was wrong. With her eyes closed she did not hear the car coming straight towards her, oblivious to her being in the road.

Donovan had just been passing a window, dressed in a clean button-up shirt and jeans. He glanced out the window and did a double-take. The one mistake humans made around his kind was underestimating them. Granted, it had been a long time since Donovan had used his Bineri heritage to his advantage but, when he looked back on that night, he was very proud of himself. He ran out the nearest door, wind chasing after him. He raced down the driveway, the world nothing but a blur. He braced himself and, since he couldn't move Elizabeth in time, he moved the car. Slamming into the car's side just as it was about to run over Elizabeth, the car veered off course with the impact, just barely missing crushing Elizabeth's head. When the car came to a stop, several yards away, Donovan tore himself free from the heavily dented door, ripping off his shirt sleeve. He completely ignored the blood pouring down his arm, storming over to Elizabeth with a look of rage on his face. "What the f**k is wrong with you?!" he screamed.

Elizabeth opened her eyes and stared at Donovan then at the car that almost ran her down. She flinched slightly at his angry tone, knowing very well how angry he was as she had almost let herself be killed. "Nothing is wrong with me." she said as she stayed seated on the road, staring hard at the asfalt ground under her.

Donovan glared down at Elizabeth, hardly believing his ears. Nothing was wrong with her? He screamed out several words, most of which were swears and several of which weren't in English. "Like Hell nothing's wrong with you!" He grabbed her arm, pulling her to her feet. He dragged her over to the side of the road. Despite his rage, his hands were trembling. "What the f**k did you think you were doing?!" he demanded.

Elizabeth glared at him coldly, a scrowl on her face and eyebrows furrowed. "I do not need to explain myself to you. I will do as I wish. If I want to be runned down by a f**king car I will be runned down by a car!" the yelled at him, yanking at her arm that was in his tight grasp.

Donovan ground his teeth, trying desperately to keep his temper under control. "Not while I'm here," he snapped. He grabbed her around the waist and draped her over his shoulder, keeping a grip on her legs so she wouldn't fall off. Turning, he started carrying her back to the palace. "If you think I'm just going to sit back and watch you try to get yourself killed, you're wrong."

Elizabeth, outraged, began to beat her fists into his back and kicked her feet wildly. "Put me down damnit! I am not yours so you have no right in touching, ordering, or anything such!" she screamed as she thrashed around.

Donovan winced at every blow, since he didn't have as much meat on his bones as Theo had. He continued on towards the palace, trying his best to keep a grip on her as she thrashed and tried to get free. Once they had finally reached the palace, he veered off course and finally set her down, both of them submersed in the shadows the building cast in the moonlight. He pressed her back against the wall and gently grabbed her chin, tilting her head back so she was forced to look at him. "I have already lost my brother, I will not lose you too." His words were gentle, holding none of his previous anger or fear.
