I'm kinda new here and I have no idea what's been discussed already BUT I have on more than one occasion I've gave my self a headache over this.
In last episode the Tenchi Muyo : Here Comes Juria. Washu has a conversation with Lady Funaho. During this conversation Washu calls Funaho "grandma". No take in mind that Funaho is Yosho's mother. Who is Tenchi's grandfather.
How is Washu realted to Tenchi AND Ryoko?
How is Mihoshi connected to Ryoko and Washu and the royal family?
I mean, I remeber Washu saying the her child happened to be the great or grandfather of Mihoshi.
Everytime I think about it I get a headache. gonk

Washuu is some degree of great-grandmother to Mihoshi. I think great-great grandmother is right. Washuu's husband was Niwase Mikamo, who was actually from Seniwa. His real name was Kuramitsu Mikamo. Their son was Mikumo. Mikumo married Miyuki of Seniwa. Their children were Mikami (female) and Minami (male). Kuramitsu Minami's daughter was Mitoto, Mihoshi's mother. Mihoshi's brother is Misao, btw.
Washuu is the creator, therefore mother, of both Ryoko and Ryo-Ohki. Ryoko was made from Washuu's ovum and a mineral-based lifeform called Masu, while Ryo-Ohki is based off the Masu and ...er... I forget. <_<;
Washuu is actually, or was actually, a chousin, or goddess. Not as in all-powerfull, but multi-dimensional beings that experimented with "reality" to create a force more powerful than they. The other chousin were Tokimi and Tsunami, sisters of Washuu. Each went their own way to find this ultimate power.
Tsunami founded Jurai. Tsunami's avatar is Sasami, whom she saved from death.
Tokimi used Zero, her avatar.
For some reason, Washuu gave up her chousin-hood to live a mortal life. She did, however, create Ryoko, her avatar, and Ryo-Ohki.
Not until the beginning of OVA 3 does she really begin to remember her sisters.
Tenchi's grandfather is Yosho/Katsuhito. His grandmother is Airi- remember GXP? Yosho also has another daughter named Minaho. She is Lady Seto's intelligence officer. Anyway, Airi and Yosho are the parents of Kiyone and Minaho. Kiyone, of course, married Nobiyuki, and had Tennyo and then later Tenchi.
Funaho is Tenchi's great-grandmother, mother of Yosho and wife of Azusa. She is from earth herself. Azusa's other, younger wife is Misaki, from Jurai, daughter of Kamiki Seto: Jurai no Oni-hime (demon princess of Jurai). Misaki, as you probably already know, is the mother of Aeka and Sasami.
Sasami was fused with Tsunami when she nearly died during Ryoko's attack on Jurai. Because of this fusion, Sasami's identity is slowly being assimilated into Tsunami's being. There will be no distinction between Sasami and Tsunami when the fusion is complete.
