Lance walked over to the door to their room and opened it before walking in and seeing his pregnant wife. "Good to see you're awake." Lance said as he placed a bottle of blood on her bedside table so she could drink both to quench her thirst, and their baby's. He really thought women had life harder than men, especially in the case of giving birth.
((Oh, I just thought of something, no one ever said they weren't twins instead of just one baby . . .))

Leora smiled at her husband and then struggled to sit up a bit more in the bed. She had gotten BIG over the past few weeks. As she got into a comfortable position she smiled down at her belly and rubbed it, and then looked to Lance. "He's kicking." she said softly, basically inviting him to come and feel it if he wanted to. Meanwhile, she had taken the glass form the bedside table and started drinking it. Her thirst had increased during the course of her pregnancy, but she also had gained better control over it.

Lance smiled before approaching her and gently placing his hand on her big stomach. "And, I don't think he's going to be inside of here for much longer now . . ." He said with a smile as he kissed her gently. "Vampire growth is amazing to watch when you're a parent isn't it?" He asked Leora.

Leora continued to smile and then nodded. "Amazing and beautiful . . ." she agreed and then her mood swung from loving to worried as she looked at Lance with worry in her eyes. "What if he hates me?" she asked, tears forming in her eyes.

Lance frowned at that for a moment before realizing it was just mood swings from her pregnancy. Determined to satisfy her no matter what her mood swings did to her, she sat next to her on her bed and smiled comfortingly. "There, there. Don't cry, I'm sure that, more than anything, our child will love you." He said in a soft, soothing voice.

"I love you too, Leora." He said softly as he flopped onto the bed, lying beside her and smiling lovingly at her. He knew she wished for her child to be born already and he did as well. Though, what would help would be to know what gender he or she was.
Alice flew in at that moment with a grin on her face. "Today's the day you're going to the doctor, Leora." She said, knowing well that Leora wouldn't know what she was talking about since Alexis had just called in for a last minute appointment.

Leora frowned in confusion. "What are you talking about Alice?" she asked. She hadn't been aware that she was going to the doctor . . . She didn't even know that she had an appointment! She turned to Lance. "Did you call in for an appointment?" she asked.

Alice's grin widened when Leora asked what she was talking about. "Alexis just signed you up for a doctor's appointment and he'll be able to tell what gender your baby is going to be!" She said excitedly.

Leora pouted and then pulled the blanket over her belly and held it protectively. "No." she said childishly. She wanted her baby's gender to be a surprise! She didn't want to know before hand. Not at all.

Alice pouted as well. She had been a bit eager to discover her friend's baby's gender, but knowing her stubbornness, she sighed in defeat. "Ok, I'll go tell Alexis to cancel the appointment . . ." She said, flying slowly out the door again.
