If I havent seen it its becasue I dont use the brand or just havent payed attention
XD I dont know what kind I use I ripped them open and stuck them in a box when I got them

A 170 g ball of yarn is somewhere around 4-5 dollars. I can't find 198 g balls of yarn here.

That's interesting. I didn't know they would do that. There's not much difference between the sizes...I know that the balls are smaller when it's multicolored. That happens pretty much everywhere.
Looking at the prices and such, I'm under the impression that knitting/crochet is not as popular in Texas as it is farther north. That might explain why Newfoundland can get 1000 gram balls of Red Heart. They are HUGE! You can practically use them as a pillow just as they are xd

I range the sizes pretty well.
198 grams are okay
454 grams would easily keep me busy for a while
1000 grams is "OMG THAT IS F***ING HUGE" *glomps* MY PILLOW!!!

I just know about my city
Its only popular when people get into make the weird looking yarn animals
and then the price shoots up and afterwards the fad died suddenly and the stores are stuffed with yarn
