Seto fell comfortably into sleep at almost the same moment as Jounouchi. Blissfully he neither woke nor dreamt for the next few hours.

A small, embarrassed cough is what finally pulled the pair from their slumber. Seto blearily opened his eyes and looked up at the morning security guard and a custodian, both standing their looking quite uncomfortable. The first rays of morning sunlight streamed in through the uncovered windows and it was immediately apparent that the air conditioners were no longer functioning in an unnatural capacity. There were no signs at all that anything had ever been amiss, the office was pleasantly warm and the only thing unusual about the scene was the company CEO curled up in his armchair with another man.

'Err,' Seto stammered, at a complete loss for a valid excuse.

((I am teaching two connected modules to first year undergraduates, first up is the medieval text by Malory, Le Morte D'Arthur. So Middle English, which is almost like teaching a foreign language, to people who've barely stopped being children. Should be fun. I think I'm more nervous about marking (mostly because that will be time consuming) than I am about actually teaching. The lecturers will all be delivered by professors/post-docs (each of the 10 attached to this course will give one of the lecturers in one of the 10 weeks), and then the PGTAs (postgraduate teaching assistants, such as myself) paired with a lecturer have 30 students for a smaller seminar and workshop. The workshop is more about getting them to analyse short passages and do close readings, things they might not have been prepped to do before coming to uni, but we'll be using the material from their lecturers. I'm hoping I like it because while teaching opportunities are fewer in the UK they are more abundant in the US, and as I want to come back teaching in higher education would be a good way to do so.

Good luck to you and your mother on roll making, maybe I shall try to take it over next year as well.

Yay figure, though kinda sad his height isn't exactly right, but guess that does perpetuate more of a slash scenario. xd At least it's a cute/good looking figure. Display him a bit behind Seto and it'll look like he's just in the distance, or maybe he'll just have to stand on a small box. smile ))

Seto blushed furiously as Jounouchi rolled around obliviously. The security officer remained motionless unsure how to break the tension; however, the custodian was moving from shock to amusement. Frankly, with everything he knew about his employer he couldn't say he was surprised. 'Good morning Mr. Kaiba,' he said cheerfully, 'didn't mean to interrupt you.' His voice was intentionally booming and when he noticed the slighter blond man stir he made sure to give him a personal greeting as well, 'good morning to you too Mr., umm, Kaiba's associate.'

Seto started to push himself out of the chair, before becoming painfully aware that he wasn't wearing anything under the blanket, something he might have slightly exposed before catching himself if the absolutely horrified look on the guard's face was anything to go by. 'Umm, well,' Seto waffled, still at a loss for an excuse, 'I think the office is neither in need of patrolling or cleaning at the moment so please carry your duties out elsewhere.'

'Well there is some strange damage in the building I wanted to talk about,' the guard started hesitantly.

The janitor cut him off and grabbed his arm; Leading him toward the door he shouted back, 'obviously this is a bad time, the damage is minor it can of course be dealt with later Mr. Kaiba...and associate.' Barely managing to conceal laughter any longer the pair darted out the door. Thankfully the door was soundproof, Seto didn't think he could take hearing anymore.

'We should get up,' he said, still unable to move or even face Jounouchi.

((I think trying to fit a lecture to the time slot the first few times will be hard, but I think that might be one of the easiest things eventually as I can just work from memory. It probably wouldn't be as engaging or as rewarding though.

I burst out laughing when I read the gigantic looming Kaiba statement, that's hilarious. Ah well, He would like to think he looms, it's a personality representation I'm sure. xd ))

Seto reached for their pile of clothing at the foot of the chair. He sorted out his belongings from Jounouchi's and quickly began to cover himself.

'I'm going to check on the translation,' Seto stated curtly. He hoped that the freak supernatural cold spell hadn't damaged any of his equipment or else this whole embarrassing night was going to be for nothing.

((My whole house has pretty shitty lighting, I definitely can understand that problem. But yes if you ever borrow your mom's camera I'd love to see looming Seto and tiny Jou sometime. wink ))

Kaiba walked over to his desk, leaving Jounouchi behind to dress privately. Despite the previous night's freak seemingly evaporating without a trace, the fact that his computer was off was not a good sign. 'Damn,' Seto muttered, booting up the system and hoping that at least some of the job had been completed. It would take forever to translate this book by hand, and they still had plenty of other things to do in addition to this chore. Maybe Isis's second contact would have all the answers they needed, without researching further, but somehow he doubted it.

((Oh that does sound like it would be irritating for reading/work. Maybe Kaiba and Jou will duel in the kitchen one day then. ^_~

Seto flushed slightly as Jounouchi moved behind him, but as Jounouchi wasn't mentioning last night he wouldn't either. 'The computer is off, it shouldn't be off, I'm trying to boot it back up now to see if it's finished the translation job or if that's just one more thing gone wrong,' he explained, getting more and more agitated by the second as the computer did not seem to want to power up normally.

((Haha, nice. That Seto must have become quite the giant if he can't move. wink ))

'Damn,' Seto muttered, once he had assessed the situation, 'it could be worse I suppose. It's done maybe 1/6th of the job it was meant to do. However, it looks like the programme just paused when the computer went into hibernation. I've already restarted it, but it'll be another 12 - 20 hours before the whole task is finished. We'll have to come back tomorrow for the rest. I'm printing what we have and we can take it with us while we go meet that next contact, let's just hurry up and get out of here. I don't think I've ever wanted to leave work quite so badly before.'

'Let's get out of here,' Seto said, grabbing the stack of printed translations and leaving the system to finish the rest of the job. He led the way out of his office, cringing when they immediately bumped into the same janitor who woke them this morning.

'Oh hello boss,' the wretched little man shouted cheerily, 'you and your friend heading off now?'

Seto did not so much as make eye contact much less respond, he merely brushed quickly past on his way to the elevator. He would fire that man with this was over. He pressed the elevator call button and glared silently at the silver door, waiting for the carriage to arrive and hopefully, this time, take them out of this building. He would send back an employee to pick up the rest of the translations, for now he was officially on vacation.

A few paper pushers walked up to the elevator behind Seto and Jounouchi. Seto glared at them threateningly and pushed the door close button. They had the good sense to not even try and hurry in. He quickly swiped his key card to override any other stops until after they reached the ground floor. He was not in the mood to socialise.

'Who are we meeting again?' Seto asked, attempting to find an innocuous subject to focus on. Not that ghost experts would have been his first choice of a conversation topic, but it at least would be a productive subject.

I have forgotten who they are meeting, save for it being a woman - I think. I don't know if it'd be worth putting these contact type characters onto the front page character list? Don't know if we'll go back to them but seems better to have them than to bury them and decide we want them again?))
