Tenchi Misaki1 Ayanami Rei First Child Well it was more of the ending where Terry Bogard, a mere mortal defeats Aries with his super powered armor. I mean that's just CRAZYNESS <.<; In terms of Anime in general it's not all that shocking or anything. Not like Fooly Cooly or Excel Saga. lol yeah, but i got both amiratage movies on dvd smile Love the movies too. ^_^ The first movie was the best though.

Pffft. Your brain just doesn't contemplate chaos very well. As long as you hold a bit of suspension of disbelief, and try not to think about things too much, it makes quite a bit of sense.
The girl on the moped is looking for people who have part of this space pirate alien consciousness that she's totally in love with. So she somehow figures out this kid might have part of the consciousness with it. So she hits him with the guitar which apparently activates some of it's powers. This creates Kanti, the robot, and some other robot thing. The Robot has some of this alien consciousness thing inside of it. The government guy wants to steal the kid's power and knows there's some other aliens looking for it.
The guy wants to capture Haruka the alien girl, because she's a space criminal. So then later the good space aliens come to Earth and want to erase all the wrinkles, which will wipe out the space pirate alien within the kid. Unfortunately this would also make it so humans would be incapable of much advanced thinking. So then the kid activates the power and uses it to fight off the aliens, and then fight with the alien girl. He ends up falling in love with her, and tells her after showing his superiority in battle. He surprises her with this and a kiss, and then the space pirate alien goes out of his head, and into outer space once more. The alien girl offers the kid a place with her, but he decides to not take her up on it.
There's also the relationship between him and his brother's girlfriend. The older brother moved away to America, but the girlfriend still loves him and other stuff. The kid falls for her, and it'd be hard to help it with the way she kinda flirts with him. Eventually he gets the balls to confess and tries to save her, but all she can do is cry out for his older brother, which really makes him mad.
So that's kinda what Fooly Cooly is all about, and is actually a lot better to watch then it sounds ^^; I'm just doing a crappy job of summerizing it for new people, but for those who have seen it, it's good enough.

Part of the reason Excel Saga makes no sense, is because there are a TON of cultural references. References to popular shows and movies in Japan. It'd be like watching "Scary Movie", and knowing absolutely nothing about horror movies. It spoofs a lot of stuff in Japan, that us Americans wouldn't get.
Although the basic plot is the same. Girl is with an evil organization. Girl tries to take over the world. Girl fails. Girl also tries to win the affection of her boss, but also fails. Girl then gets on a sickly partner who tries to help her take over the world, but she keeps dying and coming back to life. They both fail over and over. Their cat Menchi tries to escape, as he is the girls' emergency food supply, and he does. Several times and goes on crazy adventures, but then they always find him and bring him back home. Oh also the girls have a lot of crazy adventures trying to take over the world and failing. Lol.

I mean the cast of Tenchi Muyo pretty much fail, but no one cares. Ryoko never kills Yosho or becomes a space pirate again, none of the girls get Tenchi, Ayeka never gets Yosho or Tenchi to take the throne, etc. ^^;

Interesting summary of FLCL there - pretty much covers the "what happens" (a bit spoilerific of the last ep, though), but you didn't cover the larger "why", as in "what's the theme or lesson here"? That's the bit that confuses people, and has been debated for years...

Excel Saga is hilarious, but best watched after reading a cultural guide for it. The old full-sized box for it had one, but they didn't include it in the newer slimpacks, which is a shame. It's the same case with Azumanga Daioh - you miss a lot without the guide to help you.

Well I look at Fooly Cooly as a kind of Coming of Age story with Aliens, Robots, and Freaky Dimentional Vortex located in a child's forehead. I mean when you look at the kid in the first episode, and compare him to the last episode, he really has matured a lot.
Personally even without the guide for Excel Saga I thought it was HILARIOUSLY AWESOME! <3

I mean when you look at the kid in the first episode, and compare him to the last episode, he really has matured a lot. Personally even without the guide for Excel Saga I thought it was HILARIOUSLY AWESOME! <3 the dog was best trying to break down the door to the apartment they lived in XD
