Maybe he's dead? But you know, I was thinking... I'm not a big supporter of the Geovoni theory, but they did mention how he went to Viridian City... Could just be a concidence. But I dunno...

I'm thinking of writing a fanfiction where Ash's father comes back only to find that Delia has fallen in love with Prof. Oak in his absence. I've even come up with a name for him: Satoru.

Here's a more exotic theory - maybe Ash doesn't actually have a father. It's a bit odd sounding, I know, but listen - we all know how he can do some pretty "unusual" stuff, how he's the chosen one, blah blah blah... Well, what if maybe he's an experiment? Or maybe one of the ledgendary pkm took a human form temporarily to sire him? Because all that we've said so far is basic human birth... But Ash isn't so basic, is he? confused

Misty is his child X.X.......I'm sorry, I'm going to need alot more proof then you just telling me to believe that Misty and Giovanni are related because you had a friend look it up. Give me some documents, actual screenshots, interviews, SOMETHING to go on other then "my friend told me so." confused And also, don't you think if he REALLY battled his father, it would have been plastered all over the net by now? I mean, Pokemopolis and Serebit.net keep good taps on what's happening anime wise. They'd know if Ash's father was revealed. So once again, give me some proof, then I'll believe you. stare

You know, out of all the theories here, I think I like yours the best.
The second one reminds me of Ben Sisko from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. One of the Prophets possessed a human in order to conceive him and that's why he's the Emissary.
A legendary pokemon could've done the same thing with Ash's father in order to produce the kid, which would explain why he keeps getting pulled into all these important events.
As for the first theory, maybe it explains why he was so nice and understanding to Mewtwo. It's not that he's just that kind of guy, it's because as a fellow lab experiment, he could emphasize with Mewtwo.
Or am I reading way to much into it?

Well, Pokemon is mainly aimed at kids, after all. Maybe they think that there's not enough demand among older audiences for it? After all, the average kid probably isn't interested in Japanese language tracks on his DVDs.
