@niph: rofl at the dropping the torch in water in Paris thing. *sigh* this is getting ridiculous. I wonder if we can mobilize all the chinese and non-crazy Free Tibet protesters as well as all regular citizens who don't give a rat's a** to help protect the torch in America. (it might not be necessary though.) I'd be so disappointed in the people of sanfansico if anything bad were to happen to the torch bearers and the torch. evil

I forgot to tell you before, i just started a Support the Beijing Olympics on Facebook, so if you want to join, please do, it's global and open to every one. I'd like if you can post in there as well to show your support. blaugh

Its Wednesday, I wonder how San Fransisco will be like today..

We might as well have the torch carried inside of a tank through San Fransisco with all of this madness going on. stare

-Sighs-

Oh and an article that has caught my attention.

I am so angry. Our headmistress this morning did an assembly about Tibet, it was like basically copied & pasted from the BBC.. and in front of a school of which 30% are Chinese. I mean.. wtf. How much more insensitive can she get..? -__-;;

@DASG - I like that article, it's nice.

My mum just came back from China.. she was too busy to follow the news, but she says the media there is equally biased.. trust no-one, people. xP

@cat: I'm counting on it twisted
@niph: like I said many times, there is no such thing as unbiased news reporting. I've always read newspaper with a certain amount to disbelief. 3nodding

The people who swarmed the Olympic torch and extinguished it are dickheads. The Olympic torch has no relation to what is happening in Tibet. I guess these sorts of people just want to sabotage the Beijing Olympics in blind protest at China. I sure hope the torch isn't extinguished when it touches down in Australia for its brief stop. Rudd's already planned to establish a heavy security cordon around the torch for the time it's in Australia.

About Rudd: I'm not really happy with his performance in China so far. He's gone and made (perhaps unintentional) comments about Tibet and human rights abuses that have angered the top Chinese leaders, and has indicated he won't be present to see the torch arrive in Australia, as he'll be attenting a ceremony marking the discovery of the lost HMAS Sydney instead.

@'elfy - I agree. With everything. xP

This furore in Britain about Brown is so stupid.. basically, he had never planned to go to the opening ceremony, but is going to the closing ceremony. However, because of all these stupid "boycotts" of the opening, everyone's reporting "OMG LOOK BRITISH PM ISN'T GOING TO OPENING" as if it's a big deal.. but he'd never planned to anyway.. -__-;; so ridiculous.

Also now it's like.. common for radio presenters to refer to Tibet as a "country" rather than a "region".. this is the way they change the mindset of the people, just subtly, and sneakily, and totally dishonestly. >__>;;

ABC's report on Jin Jing.

Somehow I think they quoted some remarks from the facebook group in that article.

Nancy Pelosi is rather annoying..

Abc seems a little bit better than cnn..

Interesting?
Quote:

"Later, when we asked a senior monk at a news conference about the protest, he said the younger monks were only a small minority of the more than 1,000 in Labrang monastery.

He said these protesting monks did not represent the majority of monks. He added that these young monks did not understand the history of China and Tibet and were misled by "separatists."

Yeah, that would be nice.

We could rally people to change their avatars to wear a certain colour scheme like red and yellow [Like the Chinese flag] to support the Olympic? Do an event like that for the opening day? Or something like that. xD

Yeah, I think that's a good idea.. or maybe like Olympic colours//style for those who disagree with Chinese policy -- because the Olympics is for, y'know, everyone (:

If we set up a thread in the CB sometime soon then we can build up support in time for the Olympics..

Setting up a rally thread in support of China would be a good idea, as is dressing up in Chinese colours. The second would be easy for me to do, as I'm already in an outfit that has a lot of red and yellow.

The CB is infested with irrational teens fueled by sugar, the population most susceptible to media influence. You guys think putting up a thread about a seriously socio-political issue is going to gain support?

This is true. Where else could it go, though? GD is hardly better than CB. We can't have it in any of the 'specialised' forums like the Exchange or Minishops. ED is a possibility, but it's not really a 'discussion', more a 'campaign'. Perhaps GCD..? confused

If only gaia still had its advert system for members. I remmeber just before I dropped off about two years ago, they started this thing on the top right hand corner of the page where people could advertise their thread or guild and whatnot.
