This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king ruins town,
And beats high mountain down.

I am soft enough to caress a child, yet hard enough to destroy stone. I turn gray to red, and hard to soft. I can lift you up, crush you, or smother you. If you heat me up I dance, if you cool me down I sleep.

This i made up on the spot, and is probably easy.
