They say that there is someone out there for everyone,
If that's true where is the guy that is supposed to be the one for me.
They say don't look for love, love will find you,
I say it takes forever.
Then they get mean.
They say you're ugly,
I try to block it out.
They say you're fat,
I still try to block it out.
They say your hair is too frizzy,
I say it's because of the curls.
They say you have weird eyes,
I say whatever.
They say you're a tomboy,
I say so what, playing with dolls was never my thing.
They say you're a fool if you think a decent guy will ever like you,
I say maybe i am but maybe I'm not.
Then I realize they are just the repeated ramblings of people who think it's fun to cut other people down.
They don't know me at all.

Here are a couple more of my poems.
Hide Behind
Every day it just gets worse
Every day i hide behind a mask
so that i won't have to show my true self
My true emotions, the real me
so no one can get too close, no one can truly hurt me
Because i hide behind my mask of not caring, of not myself,
of anyone but the real me,
i only let a few people in to see the real me as i hide behind my mask.
Your Own Mortality
Death has brought you face to face with your own mortality,
You are looking at this irrational world with different eyes,
You gain insight that had previously escaped you,
You had underestimated your own ability to survive,
If there is darkness when you look behind you,
There is still enough light to go forward,
The memories are yours to keep,
Yesterday has ended though you store it away
in the trasurehouse of the past,
And Tomorrow?
How cane you face it's problems and challenges,
It is as far beyond your mastery as is your
ability to control yesterday,
And each day's survival is a triuumph as you come closer
to your own mortality

A couple more of my poems. I know some of them can be dark but that was how I was feeling when I wrote some of them.
Disappearing Act
When I'm down I wish I was a magician so I could pull a disappearing act,
When People laugh or call me names,
When people throw offensive words at me like a baseball I want to pull a disapearing act,
Leave this place behind,
Disappear to another time,
When I was young and blind,
to the dangers of this time,
I want to pull a disappearing act
Afraid To Fall
I usually say I'm not afraid of anything,
But truthfully I really am,
I'm afraid to fall,
Fall into darkness,
Never to awake again.
But if I do awaken, I'm alone,
I see no one, not even my reflection,
I fall, I'm afraid,
I can't see,
Maybe this time I didn't wake,
Maybe this time I died.
I usually say I'm not afraid of anything,
And that fear makes you weak,
But I'm afraid to fall
Afraid to fall into darkness,
Never to see the light of day
Afraid to fall, never to see you again
