Lucifer sighs and looks at Isabella. "Very well. I want to inform you that my daughter has decided that she wishes to marry you instead of one of the other men that I have introduced her to. I'm afraid that she can not be swayed in her decision." he says in a dead serious voice. Isabella remains quiet through the whole thing and simply waits to hear what he has to say.

Next night

 

[Just Before An Eclipse]

Kyso didn't reply. Instead there was a loud shout, where the shadowed creature tried to use his surprise to escape. Quickly, using his powers of darkness, Kyso wrapped the creature once more about his arm. In a perfectly calm voice, as if he'd never been shocked in his life, he replied, "One moment please, my lord," and then cut the connection.

Giving himself time to think, Kyso wondered what schemes Isabella could be planning. She was quite intelligent, but she should also have her father's cunning. Was she trying to get him back for what he did in the hall way? Is that why she went through her father? As he thought, he reached mentally down their severed connection. A few tendrils connected them once more, but they were weak, pathetic. She spoke of love, yet wanted to marry someone she barely had a connection with? Summoning a portal similar to Lucifer's, except that only Isabella could hear it, he spoke to her. "I need to speak with you. Now." He looked down at the shadowed creature. "In my room." At least he won't feel inclined to touch her if he was covered in this goo.

Hearing the voice, Isabella looks at her father. "I'll be back a in a moment Father." she says to him. Nodding his head Lucifer returns to his work as she stands. Leaving his office, she wanders down the halls until she reaches his room. Not even bothering to knock, she opens the door and goes inside. Closing it behind her, she looks at him. Her face is completely blank and only her eyes reveal what she feels. She is calm, collected and very determined about what she wants. "If you are going to try and persuade me that this is something I shouldn't do then maybe you should not even bother wasting the breath. I am well aware that I barely know you but only because you refused to tell me anything about yourself. I asked you in the past about yourself and you didn't wish to tell me so I never bothered asking again." she says in a flurry before he has a chance to speak.

Kyso remains focused on his work, letting her continue her little tirade. He took note of everything she said, nodding occasionally. Waving a hand as if to push it all away, he started, "I don't mean to tell you of my past. It's not yours." as if to clarify things. He peeled off the goo slowly, and turned to look at her, "I have only one thing, who are you?" He said it as if it had some profound inner meaning.

Looking at him, she smiles slightly. "I am merely a girl called Isabella. Take away the last name and I am no one. I would still want you even if I was not a Morningstar." she says to him. Walking over to the goo, she creates a small ball of fire in her hand, holding it close to the creature. As she does, it makes a light shrieking sound as if in pain. Her eyes held no emotion what so ever. "I know what I want and I will have it. I want you and that is all. Why do you hesitate? If you were to marry me you would have more power then before. You could even rule one day." Her voice remains calm and collected as she speaks.

Kyso leaned back in his chair, lifting the front legs off the floor in a childish manner. "So that's why you went through your father. You think you're pathetic." He glanced upward at her, "I wouldn't marry you if you were pathetic. I'm not as power hungry as you think I am." He'd never hoped to replace Lucifer, doubting the dark angel would ever die. He was his idol, someone he looked up to but didn't want to replace. He stood, with the chair between them, and reached up to pull her face away from the shrieking beast. His gaze was as emotionless, it's usual cruel mockery. His hand was soft though, as he stroked her cheek, "Your father will control your life forever if you allow it." He wasn't sure why it bothered him. Maybe because it made her weak to rely on Lucifer, but there was something else. He did not want her to be tied down to him any longer. Perhaps he wanted her to be free for him? He ignored the dark chuckle. Deity was someone that needed to be discussed, but not now. Perhaps later.

As she looks at him, her eyes narrow slightly. "So you, just like the court, believe my father controls me." she says to him flatly. Stepping back, she tilts her head back slightly and laughs. This was a side that was rarely seen from her. That last time it showed its self was when her father had attempted to control her. Looking at Kyso, she steps towards him and wraps her arms lightly around his neck. "Kyso, my father lost is control over me when the very first man he tried to marry me off to I slaughtered. That was never released to any one of the court because my father knew that it could start something but I'll tell you now. My fathers control over me is no longer there.". With that she kisses him lightly and moves away from him. Turning, she heads for the door. "I'll wait for your reply Kyso." she says over her shoulder before she leaves the room.

“Then why did you not ask me?” the question followed her out the door, loud enough to be heard over its shutting. Shaking his head, he decided quickly to take the easiest path. Marriage to her wouldn’t be terrible, and if necessary there was always the choice of killing her. She wouldn’t be expecting it in her naivety so a simple poison could probably free him. But that was plans for later. Instead, he reopened the connection between him and the dark angel, “My lord” he started, giving a bow, “Would you prefer if I were to court your daughter or marry her outright? I am willing to do either my lord.” He bowed again, waiting for an answer he was not certain of. Courting would take a full year. They would have to follow countless rituals: being unable to be alone with one another, nor touch until six months into the ordeal. But it would also refute any rumors that might spread from a sudden marriage. Clearly, a child would come quicker than a year, so her name would be clean. He would have offered her the choice, but he wanted her to realize what going through her father meant. He would follow all courtesies, just as he was supposed to, which did not include her.

Hearing Kyso's voice, Lucifer sighs and leans back in his chair. "I take it she was in that mood of hers when she went to speak to you." he says, giving a mental shudder. "I had not expected for you to marry her out right. Courting will be the best thing for you to do at the moment." Lucifer waits for Kyso's repsonse.

While this is going on, Isabella goes to the garden and places one hand on the outer wall of the castle and another on her head. She wasn't sure what had gotten into her but she knew that her head hurt, a lot. "I don't feel well." she mumbles as she walks over to a bench and lays down on it. "Okay, I did something stupid. I really shouldn't have done that or acted that way towards Kyso." Shaking her head she closes her eyes and places her right arm over her face. He must hate me now she thinks as she starts to cry silently.

Next night

"A mood of hers my lord?" if it could have been seen, bafflement would have been clear on his face. Shaking his head, he replied simply, "No, we simply needed to..." there was a short pause as he sought the phrase, "clear things up." He nodded as if he expected Lucifer's choice, "I will begin immediately then my lord." Standing he continued, "Would you like me to find someone to replace me as body guard, my lord?" He might not have had friends, but Kyso was willing to look for someone strong enough, and scared enough of his fury, to replace him. He stood, trapping the shadowed creature once more, and left his room to go to the garden. He was in search of flowers. Ones that were appropriate for her. Of all his knowledge, he was clueless of flowers, except for that rose of his that became carnivorous.

((Do you want to figure out more about this courting business? The only thing I thought of was him sending her a dozen flowers, all red except one, and it increases every month. Oh, and the like formal, no touching, being escorted thing. Do you want to plan more or just go with the flow?))

Lucifer sighs and shakes his head. "Getting her another guard is not necessary. If that side of her is waking up again then she can take care of herself." he says to him. As he closes the connection, Lucifer turns and looks out the window behind him. I thought that the seal was supposed to stay until she found someone to love. Unless...it could be possible that has happened. If only my wife were still alive. Maybe she could have helped in this a bit he thinks, shaking his head. Sighing, he turns and returns to his work.

In the garden, Isabella peacefully sleeps on the bench as a dark shadow looms over her. As the assassin raises raises his left hand that holds a dagger, Isabella's eyes snap open. Suddenly there is a large explosion in the area that sets the whole castle on alert.

Kyso had never heard of another side of Isabella being mentioned. Perhaps it was her mother's angelic powers? Now that would be quite intriguing. She was quite apparently powerful herself, but adding a holy side would make her incredible. His thoughts were interrupted by an explosion, strong enough to make the hall he walked on shake. The loud noise was mildly painful, and he was certain if he had been any closer he would have been deaf. Opening a window in the hall, Kyso took off, following the sound. He'd always been a faster flyer than runner, especially when he didn't bother with the halls. Reaching the gardens, the blast was still quite apparent. He couldn't stop the thought that Isabella would probably miss the flowers, and on some level that bothered him. He landed in the center of the impact, where most of the dust hadn't yet cleared. Therefore he couldn't see much, but he let out a few echoing clicks to get a basic surrounding of himself. Almost immediately he realized there was a figure near him, and a few more clicks gave him the idea it was Isabella. Acting on instinct, he moved to her side, wrapping his wing around her for protection. "Are you hurt?" he called, his eyes and ears scanning for any threats.

As the dust settles, Lucifer and his guards appear in the garden. The moment his eyes lock on Kyso and Isabella, he quickly reacts. Rushing forward he grabs Kyso but his collar and pulls him away from Isabella. "Are you insane! Whether she wishes to marry you or not in this state she can kill you with ease!" he yells at the demon. Looking back at his daughter, he sees the body of a man torn in two in both of her hands. Isabella looks over at them and smiles. "Hello father and Kyso. Do you like my play thing? I think I may have broke him though." she says in a low, almost purring, voice. Tilting her head back, she begins to laugh as drops the halves of the body to the ground. Looking at the assassin, she smirks. "He thought that he could kill me but it would appear that he was wrong." she mumbles.

Kyso laughed. He didn't particularly care for his life, for if he died he was weak and who'd want to live weak anyway. But this was a side of Isabella that he definitely liked. Kyso smirked at her, "If you'd like I can animate him once more. I can't promise he'll have enough emotion to be scared though." Kyso wasn't really a necromancer. No, he liked the power in his soul a little more than that. But he'd fiddled before. All he could really do was trap the soul inside, which in and of itself was fun. Hell, it'd be a good bounding experience for the couple to be.
