Draco sighed slightly and shook his head "I didn't tell you, and I'm still not going to tell you, because I don't want you worrying more than you already are.." He paused slightly at the door "Come on...."

She watched him, her face now void of emotion. She sighed and walked over to him. The light relfexing nail varnish she wore was now a deep shade of purple.

Draco wrapped an arm around her waist, not caring if she objected and lead her to the Room Of Requirement.Walking inside it was filled with books on medicine and spells "You want to know what I've been hiding from you since our third year?"

She looked up at him, a light shade of pink in her cheeks.
"Since third year? that long?" she thought silently
"Yes, what is it?" she asked and looked up at him.

Draco nodded slightly and sat down on a pile of books, his eyes down cast as he though on how to tell her.His jaw clinched slightly Each time I use a powerful spell, whether it be a curse, course or jinx...Some of my life ebbs away..." He looked up at her, his voice going quiet "Do you understand what that means...?"

It took a moment to sink in but when it did her eyes widened, the colour drained from her face.
"no...you cant be....." she whispered "please tell me its not true" she whispered, looking away from him. She knew what he meant but she could'nt bering herself to say it aloud nor did she want to hear those words.

Unable to bare the look on her face, Draco stood and pulled her into his arms, not caring if she protested and pressed his lips to the top of her head "I'm so sorry....This is why I hadn't told you...Now you know why I hate my father more than anything else on this earth...."He closed his eyes and clinched his jaw slightly "Why have haven't been sleeping well, and why I'm always dizzy or cringing when we're told to do the simplest spells in a class...."

"Why did he do this?" she whispered, she wanted to know but then again, she did'nt. She burried her head into his chest and wrapped her arms aorund him. She could understand now fully and she could feel her heart almost breaking with the sadness of what she had just learnt.. "Why do you do the spells when you know what could happen...."

Draco sighed slightly "Because...He found out I was going to help Potter....And as punishment he used a curse which was mutated by the protection of the necklace and my fathers broken wand." He tighten his hold on her to keep himself from shuddering from the memory.At her last question he smiled slightly "I continue to use them because I now have something worth protecting..."

Siren listened but at the last part she froze in his arms and looked at him, a singel tear rolling down her cheek.
"Draco...you cant protect me not on these terms, I wont let you throw your life away for me" she said her words stern, meaning every single one of them."I would rather you live and be happy, then protect me."

Draco brushed away the tear, his thumb gently brushing over her lips "Siren...It's my choice...And if I have a chance to protect you and the rest of this school by helping Potter kill You-Know-Who then I'm going to do it, no matter the cost." He paused slightly , searching her face for some signed of hatred that he was expecting.

Siren knew he had his mind set on this, she could tell by the way he said it. She looked up at him.
"if thats what you want I wont stand in your way" se said "But your going to have to put up with me, Im not letting you do this by yourself" she said, dark brown eyes glittering slightly.

Draco laughed quietly, his pale eyes dancing "I had figured that when I told you." He smiled slightly, debating on whether or not to close the short distance between them and kiss her.
