SIGN UPS ARE NOW CLOSED!

Christof suddenly snapped to reality, blinking as the world came back into focus and- RIGHT right, class! Yes... yes yes yes- he lurched to the front of the room, positively trembling as he turned around to face the milling crowd.

Right um. Attention needing. Unable to whistle, he did the next best thing he could manage, plucking a fog-horn from the heap of junk in front of the desk the Sloth dozed at and giving a rather pointed POOOOOOOOOOOOM! Right, that should quiet people up. Or get more rubber bands thrown at him.

Swallowing thickly he fumbled with the noise maker only to gesture pointedly at the junk heap before anyone could question him. Working quickly, he plucked several items at random from the heap, face pressed with concentration as he stacked a cardboard box and small race car and a few stray wires for aesthetic purposes before straightening with a TADA firmly on his face.

He then signed with trembling hands a rather eloquent speech about the Mad part of Science being about ingenuity and industrialism and a good long rant about proper parts and pieces- unfortunately for him, to most people it looked like he was having a seizure.

Barth, in direct blast of the foghorn, endeavored to regain his composure. And his hearing.

He watched as Christof signed furiously. He seemed to go on and on. If he expected Barth to translate that much, he could write it on the board himself. Barth decided, for the sake of the lecture, to summarize.

"Welcome to Mad Science. Progress always seems a bit mad at first. Creativity can be mistaken for lunacy. So if things take a strange turn today, err, rest assured, that's all part of the process."

Barth looked at the junk heap.

"These are parts," Barth said, "and you're supposed to put them together until something...interesting happens." He added, "It's not difficult, or I wouldn't be here. Knobby bits go in the screwy bits, plugs go where they fit, and you can figure out the rest."

Christof beamed, nodding enthusiastically before gesturing invitingly to the heap.

Roll 2D4:

1st D4 determines what weapon your robot is equipped with:
1: Lifter - designed to lift your opponent
2: Bludgeoning Device - designed to bludgeon your opponent
3: Rammer - designed to ram your opponent
4: Flipper - designed to flip your opponent

2nd D4 will determine how well the robot is made as well as HP:
1 is poorly made, 4 is well made. <- for RP purposes
number rolled +5 = robot's HP (for part two)
6 low, 9 Max

Make a post rolling your robot's stats and then edit your post to describe your character building it, reflecting those rolls! The junk heap is eclectic, but no robot can be over two feet tall- design wise you can be as creative as you like! Either describe your robot, or doodle a picture. You may use more than one post to describe the building process, but please mark down your stats in your first post!
arrow You have 24 hours from this post to complete your robot.

When Barth's red-haired friend (Bul) accidentally snapped the rubber band in his mouth, his antic made Bea laugh in his face. "Ha! Nice going!" she giggled and leaned toward him, "Say... What's your name? I don't think we've ever met before. I'm Beatrix by the way." Bea gave him a friendly smile.

She flipped her hair over her shoulder and turned her attention to Raziel who had just walked in. Unsure if he knew anyone else in the room, Bea wanted him to sit next to her. "Ah, HEY RAZIEL!" Bea yelled over the other students, "Come sit by me!" She waved him over to her, closer to the front desk.

Lattice stared down at the ghoul patiently. Her own worries and fears yet again gone in the face of the Baku's current situation and need for help. As far as Lattice was concerned Xiu needed someone and she would be that someone if she had to be. The Engraver nodded, "I will move sit next to you if it will calm you," she murmured quietly to her.

There was suddenly talk of studs, spikes, and hard cores and Lattice blinked behind her mask in a baffled manner as she turned her head toward the source of the voice, "What ... is tongue stud? Also my core is quite soft I...Don't understand."

Was it a compliment? Such a strange one if it was!

Xiu had gotten her attention when she slipped a pair of goggles into her hand. Lattice gave Xiu a small smile as she stood moving to put them on...backwards, "Thank you," she adjusted her hair around the band on her forehead.

....Yeah she was going to need help.

Maybe if she had spent more time touching the goggles and getting to know them she'd have realized they were on backwards, "They don't feel right," she murmured quietly to Xiu wondering if this was a common issue.

Lattice suddenly noted class was starting and before she could move much further she turned her head to pay attention to it and made out the gesture to a heap of ... stuff. Quietly she moved toward it to get what was needed. She would follow Xiu to a seat of her choosing and then settle to build her creation.

Yay, dangerous stuff. Christof's signing went unnoticed, if only because the patchwork was thinking so hard, his thoughts were accidentally shouting in her head. She was wincing the entire time, and when Barth took over, she let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. It was a very moving speech, she was sure - but all she heard was LOUD NOISES.

Right. Let's break some stuff. She hopped off the desk and picked up some pieces, carrying them over to her desk and poking at them idly.

She didn't know how to build robots, but you know who did? Christof. She may have been receiving a few hints, here and there, as she slid together the pieces of her structure. Luckily, she was skilled in the art of not reacting - and to the naked eye, it truly looked like Riley was handling her mechanical pieces with extraordinary skill.

She slid a large flat metal scoop into place, twisting it into place, and stepped back.

Voila.

As much as Demi knew about the fact that he had to calm down, that stupid face carved into his desk was really pissing him off. "Jacking candlejacking oaf." he muttered lowly until a sudden loud sound went off and made the boil cringe and his ears flatten to his head in shock. "Geeze I don't think they heard your horn on the other side of Halloween Christof!" he snarled out, forgetting about his animosity with the guitarist if only for a little while.

But class was starting with a project right off the bat and an old fashion dig, for spare parts. The hound didn't care if he shoved his way into the pile of refuse parts and shoveled them to his desk. He had no clue what he was building but blind rage could do that to a boil, there was an odd soft part that came with his collection.

He stared at the squishy thing like it was a foreign toy. "What the jacking candlejack is this?" he growled out harshly, tossing the part aside and into the back of Bul's head.

That's what you get with all those rubber bands Half beast.

it was creepy how easily these parts just went together, was it the same when christof did it? Jack, was it the same when it happens to the patchwork? Either way, it was finished when the grumpy angry hellhound secured a clamp apparatus to the robot like form.

If only he could use it to lift Roch and toss him down a well.

Hearing another familiar voice, Jericho glanced up, smiling at Riyo as she came on in. He was about to greet her in return, but at this point, the class was to begin. Turning his attention to the front, he raised an eyebrow, amused at the little chemistry Christof and Barth had here.

Looking over at the scrap pile, he raised an eyebrow.

Well... that was simple enough he supposed.

After shooting a glance to his friends, he shrugged and got to work.

Building robots wasn't exactly something the dragon had ever done. He also didn't really have much of an idea of what he was doing. Jericho collected shinies, not build them! Well, when he finished, he had a mishapened thing that he supposed could be a robot.

The huge pile of junk wasn't very enticing to Bea. She waited a moment to see what objects the other students were taking, and decided to follow them to the front desk. She sat back in her chair and put on the goggles. It was uncomfortable, and awkward to wear. Without much instruction or demonstration on how to create a robot, she looked over at another student creating their robot. Riley seemed to have made hers perfectly! But this was a bit more complicated than Bea expected.

Bea tried to fit the pieces together only to get frustrated at how it wasn't working out so well. "WHAT IS THIS JUNK?!" Bea screamed at her robot, "RAH!" She grunted as she jammed a piece of metal on the front side. Quite frankly, her robot was borderline terrible and all she could do was pout at it.

After staring at her robot for a few seconds, Bea felt like she could just cry. She thought this would come easy to her like baking a cake or sewing a dress. Now she knew she was wrong... which didn't make matters any better. The robot looked like a blocky lump of metal and duct-tape.

(( Rolliiiiingggg ))O-Oh dear...she should...probably...you know, put on the classes she was given! Um. Yes. That's a good start. The goggles went on properly and she stared down at the pile of parts, suddenly very lost as to what to do. She did the best she could, picking up parts and fitting them together, hopefully making Christof and Malodore proud of her with her building skills; they had built her body after all!

When she was finished, she had a fairly decently put together tank (at least it was a tank in her mind), with a pretty nasty looking flat club at the top, optimal (in her mind) for laying the beat down on other robots.

Oh, fantastic. A short and sweet explanation of what they were doing. Not much of a description how, and that was just fine with Riyo. She had certainly never built a... Whatever they were trying to build before, but that didn't mean she couldn't.

...

Did it?

Grabbing a hand full of junk and scraps, Riyo took them back to her work area and started piecing together a monstrosity. No, unfortunately it wasn't an intimidating monstrosity, it was more like some kind of metal monster vomited on the table and that pile was her creation. "I shall name you... Jessee." After her father. How sweet. "May you meet with a tragic death."

Sitting at her desk she continued to watch as everyone scrambled about, rubber bands flew all around her as she started to sink lower; it kept her out of the crossfire. For a while she started to almost doze off like Barth, at least she tried before a horn blasted her to attention.

Sitting up and leaning back a bit in her seat she watched as Chris flailed about shaking her head a bit at his crazed antics. What came next was a simple explanation from Barth. Building thing's wasn't really up her ally as far as she knew, but she did know fighting was.

At once she started to tap at her desk. What would she use? A weapon of course was required, in this case something that could smash. If you can smash a robot you win, they don't bleed or anything. It's just like that one in.... Christmas

At once she knew what to do, shuffling over to the desk she started to grab parts. Metal fists would be a first of course, though she hardly had an idea how to make them fire rockets like the yellow elf did back in the strange town of white. With two solid blocks of metal for fist she focused on the body. Something that could spin would be good, a round base thick to protect all the moving parts. (What ever those parts did, it took her a few tries to find one that would let her little robot spin in circles; a whirlwind punch perhaps?)

Next was getting the arms in. Running back and forth she grabbed different arms till she finally got some rather thick ones that still managed to fit in the sockets of the chest she took. Well, kind of, she may have bent a few spots on it to jam it in...

"Legs... I can't make you walk. That's too much." Tapping her chin she stared at the roughly foot tall robot, laying legless on her desk. The elves had walking ones, some even rumored to be able to fly. For now though she would settle on something simple. Grabbing what looked like the bottom of a toy tank she slapped the robot on top plugging it all in.

Cept' a brain and power supply.

Digging about the piles she grabbed bits of batteries and strapped them over the robot, more batteries more power right? A head on top a few wires running through the body or something maybe... no around the back? She frowned and did her best protecting the cables inside.

"I shall dub you; Elvenator." And with that she wandered off to find paint and make it yellow to fit the mood.

"Hard--ah..." Roch blinked, wondering how someone with freakin' NEEDLES coming out of their flesh could not know what hard core was. "Um, a tongue stud," he said, sticking his tongue out--then realizing she couldn't see, apparently. "It's a piercing through my tongue. I got it years ago. Y'know, like the earrings and the eyebrow piercing--"

He shrugged it off as the noise threatened to burst his sensitive eardrums, and plugged his ears with his fingers before getting the general gist of things. He gratefully headed for the pile of junk to get his stuff and take back to his table.

A bit surprisingly, Roch was rather good with his hands--well, no, actually that wasn't surprising. Soon he had a cute little robot that swung a half bat back and forth as it creaked forward on four small wheels. Someone'd left their broken RC car in the junk pile, so he'd rigged it for the base of the robot. He hadn't been able to find the controller, so he'd had to hotwire the base and put it on automatic, which meant it would just keep going forward.

((sorry if this is wonky! am on my itouch!))

Taryn needed to sloooow down. At the moment she was going mach when Danny needed slow burro. She stared at her desk like it was evil and then turned back to Taryn. "But... I don't stare at Roch." A sudden thought occured to her and she got a little frantic. "Wait should I be staring at him? Does this mean we're not friends?!"

Her thoughts were interrupted though, by a very loud foghorn. As Christof was explaining, Danny's thoughts were racing. When Barth started talking she payed attention just to get her mind off Taryn's responses.

So they were making fightinf bots? That was something Danny could do. Her lips twitched upward in a smile when she thought of smashing things. It was just enjoyable.

She started throwing things together on her robot rather haphazardly. Wires here, buttons, screws. Barth hadn't lied when he said anyone could do it. If Danny could do it, ANYONE could do it.

Of course, her robot lacked the touches of a true robotics engineer. It wasn't a perfect robot, bit it would pass. It seemed to be a lifting robot ... It had some dustpan areas that would lift up off the ground. Danny had intended for it to smash things, but it seemed all it would do was go up. Still, it wasn't the worst robot in history. That'll do Danny, that'll do.

Relief flooded Xiu, and she was so happy she nearly threw her arms around Lattice again. Fortunately, she managed to find the will to resist, settling for wagging her tail happily. "T-thank you!" She wasn't sure how to express her appreciation, so she hoped just simple words of thanks would suffice for now. Perhaps she would be able to make it up to Lattice someday!

Until then, the most she could do was help the ghost out a bit. The first course of action? ...Help the poor thing fix her goggles. With a slightly more cheerful smile, she reached up and turned the goggles around so that they were actually protecting her eyes, and not...portions of the back of her head. "You wear them like this! Do they feel okay?"

At least it looked like Lattice and Roch would get along okay, as they already had a...mini exchange of sorts. Unfortunately, it didn't last long until it was interrupted by the start of the class. The loud noise made her jump, and...well, just seeing Christof at the front of the class was making her a bit skittish, but she patiently waited until they were given directions before moving over to the box and sifting through the pile of objects.

Hmmm...what to pick? ...Well, she wasn't much of a builder, so...

Willow waited a bit to get her things from the pile, she picked up a bludgeoning thinger-ma-bob and some odds and ends to build her robot with. Her tail flickered as she headed back to her seat, with basically an arm full of material. So they had to stay smallish, that was okay.

Willow was looking at the stuff she had tilting her head and looking from the pile of things to Chrisfo and Barth for a few moments before looking to see what everyone else was doing. Well, it couldn't be that hard right?

Willow picked up a rod and then a bolt and started slowly fitting things together. Hopefully you didn't have to know what you were doing to actually build a functioning robot...
