No. Damien was not going to take this... this.... leaf covered THING yawning in his face. He gave the mini a vicious shake and glowered at it with irritation practically written all over his face. "you keep staring at me and we're going to have a little bonfire in this room." letting the threat hang in the air for the mini to two plus two together.

It didn't take long for it to dart back inside its red confines and the piddling sound of sap dripping out onto the floor made Damien smirk in satisfaction. "Smart choice mini."

Willow's ears twitched glancing around Ren and LW to watch the professor move to close the classroom door. Oh it looked like class was starting. Confidence? Willow frowned slightly, if the classroom would've been a little less full Willow might not would have so much to worry about as she picked up a shrubbery and stared at it, however the only thing it did was flail more trying to scratch her face.

Riley picked up a bush, brought it up to her face, and stared it down. If there was one thing Riley did well, it was intimidation. Her tentacles writhed behind her, making quite the show.

But the creeping shrubbery wasn't looking at Riley. It was licking itself. And when it stopped, it lifted its head and sneezed in Riley's face.

The mindflayer was slightly less intimidating, after that.

Was this little bush blind? Riley was a very intimidating creature! But instead of cowering in fear of her, the creeping shrubbery opened its mouth, stuck its tongue out, and licked her face. Riley's expression cringed inwardly at the act, and she slumped forward.

I think mine is defective. It wasn't even trying to squirm away, or anything of the sort.. it looked perfectly content in her arms. Ugh.

This was completely, and embarrasingly unacceptable. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Barth, having already sedated its companion without trouble, and her blood boiled in her veins. She adjusted the shrubbery, holding it up with both hands, and her eyes narrowed thinly as she summoned everything she could from the well of Fear within her. The crystals behind her glowed, which didn't actually help her look very intimidating, but her eyes kept the shrubbery locked in her gaze as she said it.

You will succumb to me.

The poor thing whimpered, ears drooping back and tail writhing between her legs. It was the use of Fear alone that had it submitting to Riley, which was clearly the point of the lesson.

Lesson learned.

Mot barely stumbled as Xiu bumped into him, merely blinking and turning to see who it was. He gave the ghoul a grin and nod. "No worries. Let's sit down then, hm?" He waved a hand to a couple of free seats and led the way over.

Soon enough, class began.

The task at hand seemed simple enough. Mot didn't feel he was all that intimidating, but he was confident enough to pretend he was. Or so he hoped. He worried for his baku companion though. He cast a doubtful glance at her before getting up to give the endeavor a try.

Mot picked up the first bush he found. The pet his teacher had picked up didn't seem that scary, so this would be a piece of cake! But as the pet emerged from its hiding place and flailed wildly, Mot yelped, nearly dropping the pet in the process.

This was not looking good.

Mot breathed in deeply and closed his eyes. Perhaps his confidence was still not at its best. Come on, he though to himself, its just a small, un-scary mini pet! Mot openeed his eyes to stare back at the raging pet in his hands, trying to must the intimidation factor...

The second he even attempted to think confident thoughts, the beast growled at him, making the boil yelp again, holding the pet as far away as possible.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I AM BEING INTIMIDATED BY A JACKING BUSH BABY!!!!

Mot was feeling pretty bad about himself yet again. It must be Shun's fault! He had no idea that encounter with Shun could rattle his confidence quite like it had. It was becoming increasingly difficult for Mot to even pretend to feel intimidating.

In fact, he gave up entirely.

Mot dropped the growling pet and fled for the entrance of the room, staying as far away from the bushes as he could. In his mind, his failure plagued him, imagining a crazy chase scene ending with the bush getting a hold of his gun and demanding his milk money.



Mot shuddered and curled up on the ground by the door.

Willow was a little taken aback by the fact the creature was trying to claw out her eyes, so she took a second to look around the room. Apparently others were having troubles too. At least it wasn't just her.

The Byakko stopped took a deep breath and then stared at the bush again, ears pinning down as she did to try to look a little more intimidating. Apparently this time it worked, the bush was struggling at first trying to claw Willow's eyes out but eventually something seemed to click.

It took a few moments for the bush to settle down but it looked like, after a moment it gave up on trying to hurt Willow and just kind of hung there staring at her like 'now what?' Willow sat back down and put the shrub on her desk watching it curiously.

The bakeneko seemed interested in fights? Atta ghoul. Maybe it was just the sheer fact that Riyo reminded her of her kin that led her to introduce herself, but it was this new information that would keep her interested in the ghoul.

Always free ta look me up if yer ever interested in'it, really. A good knocking' down 'a some wisecrackers.. she tilted her head suggestively towards a certain wrath demon as an example of what sort she meant. It's good exercise. Yep. That was one way to explain the joy of destroying egos and squeezing the jack out of opponents.

Chuckling at Riyo's answer, Levi briefly gave a wave over the Jericho and Mot who was followed by Xiu.

Not so far after, Professor Malcolm began the lesson.

SO THE BUSHES WERE MOVING

It hadn't just been her. From her understanding, they were to size-up the mini pets so that they would submit. Alright, this shouldn't be too hard. She was underestimating the power of bushy pets, and stopped herself immediately after reviewing the reactions of the bushes from their encounters with the other students. Taking in a deep breath, the tatzel arched and curled her tail upward into a spiral behind her, walking over to the red bushes as straight and tall as she could manage.

Standing tall over opponents, leering, sizing-up... these were all very characteristic of what her kin were meant to do. A tatzel without the ability to size-up an opponent or prey? She shuddered at the thought. They were known for standing on their tails in their furrier forms and bearing teeth and claw over the heads of those they wanted to have submit. It had worked fairly well for her thus far back home but- how well would it work on these things? Again- never take your opponent too lightly!

She reached down and grabbed at one of the wobbly shrubs with one hand, keeping her arm outstretched as she raised it to eye level. Sure enough, trying to grasp the mini proved difficult, especially when its tail, head and limbs appeared. The face of the mini said:



Levi narrowed her eyes at first in a yer on manner. Dead-set in a stare-down, the tatzel took to the raging red shrub with her other had as well. They were locked together in a still eye-to-eye showdown ... and Levi wasn't going to back down. From the looks of the bush mini's face, it wasn't either. That was when she suddenly switched to a wide stare.



Then we're gonna do this all day, critter. Ye can count on'it. Perhaps it was the tone of her voice- but it seemed to work. Glad she didn't have to stand the burning sensation in her unblinking eyes any longer, Levi eased back to a calmer one-handed grasp on the bush. It's tail lowered as did it's head, and it was still.

So HE was the teacher?? Pepin sighed dreamily and practically melted onto the floor when Malcolm continued to speak. Savage was a wonderful teacher but she wasn't a boil running around virtually shirtless. Still, it was time to focus and as much of a challenge as that was for the glitch ghost she sat up and listened to the instructions.

As the bushes quivered she blinked and stood, preparing herself for the worst when a mini came out, strutting around like it was the s**t and threatening everyone. She wouldn't have that s**t. Nope. Approaching one of the bush creatures Pepin concentrated all her FEAR into a glare most unpleasant.

....maybe it wasn't as intimidating as it was just REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE TO STARE AT but the mini backed away and left Pepin with a satisfied look.

LW still smiled at those they were speaking with, but the familiar voice of Professor Malcolm caught her attention. Glancing towards the Professor, LW couldn't help the almost instant feeling of 'that sounds a little too easy'. And of course, he made it look easy too. Which meant it probably was difficult. His explanation of what they were to do made her wince a little on the inside. They had to make themselves the 'leader of the pack', per say? Oh skulls! The she-wolf's tail flicked as she eyed the red shrubs.

Well, she was a werewolf, right? So...maybe she could do this. Without too many problems? LW snorted. Yeah right. She was not a good example for a werewolf. Maybe a lap dog, but not a werewolf.

Not that she wasn't stubborn enough to try.

Winking up at her boilfriend and throwing smiles of encouragement to the new faces that had never been in one of Professor Malcolm's classes, LW approached one of the red shrubs cautiously. So they just had to pick it up and stare at it when it showed itself? Alright. That part didn't sound terribly difficult. Crouching down, the she-wolf snagged one of the shrubs and stood, holding it up and waited for the minipet to reveal itself. She didn't have to wait long before a face appeared. Locking eyes with it, her own narrowed and she tried to appear 'intimidating'.

Like she was ever intimidating. Skulls! How could she- oh wait. Think like BB! That mimic was a terror and very intimidating. Thinking on his expressions, LW tried to 'mimic' her mimic pet and, to her delight, it worked. The little minipet she held stopped struggling with a squeaked sound and stared at her with huge eyes. Jackdammit. Now she owed BB a treat for his inadvertent help...

Danny was about to say some witty remark back at Ren and Roch, when someone stood up and shut the door. Wait what? This guy was the teacher? Danny was a little shocked. She had thought he was just some student! Well he did look older. And more powerful. And very teacher-like. It was a common mistake right?

While the teacher continued to explain something about the bushes, Danny was busy trying to figure out the best way to throw pencils at Roch's hair. He had so much gel in it ... they would just stick there right? She heard something about minipets and FEAR... intimidation? What did that mean?

Well apparently they had to do some staring at minipets ... whaaaaat? Was she ... did the teacher really just tell her to intimidate a bush? ... Well okay ...

Danny looked at the bush with her meanest look. It was more like she was really angry looking, but it didn't seem to work well on the bush. The bush pet just sat there, unamused by her pouty looks. Her tail was still whipping behind her like normal; Danny hadn't even keyed in the fact that she was a fire demon. Stupid, stupid ghoul.  

[Ice Queen]

"Hey Danny!" Roch called over, holding his own bush lightly and ignoring how it kept peeking up at him worriedly. He probably was still feeling a bit riled by Tybalt's first comments, and giving off a pissed off air. "Threaten to light that sucker on fire! It'll work!"

Maybe.

Nodding, Xiu quickly followed after Mot, sitting down just as class started. There were a couple of people who she would have liked to greet, but...it looked like that would have to wait now.

When they were given the assignment of intimidation, Xiu immediately knew that she would fail at this. She knew that she would have to work on this, but as she was right now, she found it to be an extremely difficult task. Still, since everyone had to give it a go, the Baku nervously shuffled towards one of the bushes, crouching down in front of it. She gave it a little nudge with her foot.

The creature immediately popped out of the bush, glaring and hissing at Xiu. That's all it took to make the Baku retreat a couple of steps, ears drooping as she stared at the thing helplessly.
