Kaisujin smirked slightly beneath the mask. He whispered a single word as a small sphere, roughly the size of a ping-pong ball, rippled with light. "Boom," he murmured. Immediately there was a flash before Plasmus' head exploded in a blast of dense whitish silver smoke. His hands flickered through a series of handseals so rapidly they were a blur of motion as he shifted back to his normal form. Alexis blinked in surprise as the half melted chunk of steel re-bar fell to the ground. He didn't know Phantom could do that.

Connie landed near the unconscious form of Plasmus's host and looked down at him in a mixture of disgust and almost scientific curiosity.

Kaisujin cocked his head, drawing back the concentrated energy from the Shinkū Taigyoku technique back into himself. Cyborg blinked, impressed. They work well together; it seems our successors will create their own legends in time, of that I'm certain, he thought. Alexis let his gaze drift from Dawnfire to Phantom before he grinned.

A group of scientists hurried out of the STAR Labs building and put Plasmus's host into a stasis suit and hurried back into the building. Connie watched them, thinking how much like the tiny insects of this planet those scientists seemed at that moment.

Kaisujin pushed off, deep gold and black wings bursting from his shoulders. He was able to take various forms, though his unusual talent to absorb abilities sometimes tended to cause highly unexpected things. Due to a very unique secret of his, he knew things very few others did.... what it was like to die more than once. Unfortunately he had little control over where he was `reborn` in a sense.

"Back to the Tower?" Connie asked, taking off as well. She looked at Alexis and Cyborg. "Will you two be taking your car? Or would you like me to give you a 'lift', as you say here?"

Kaisujin tilted his head, hovering in midair. Cyborg tilted his head. "I think we'll ride back," Alexis said after a moment. Kaisujin exhaled. "Sometimes it would be easier to have a shorter lifespan, I think," he said softly to himself, his gaze shifting around the city as he did so. He didn't realize his voice was loud enough for Dawnfire to hear.

Connie nodded. "All right. We will meet you there." She flew a little higher so she was at eye-level with Kaisujin. "What do you mean by that? A long lifespan means you are a strong warrior. You have the will to survive."

Kaisujin smiled, though it was a sad smile. "Not when you are forced to watch those you cherish from a distance until they pass on... while you remain," he said quietly. He had gone by various names over his different `lifetimes`. "Some think that would be the worst.. but I can say recalling that plus your own death is worse... six thousand, two hundred and four years," he said softly. His hand unconsciously shifted over his chest just to the right of his sternum. He remembered the sniper's bullet that had ripped through that particular point and hearing his loved ones screaming for him as his awareness had faded into darkness... only to find himself high above this very city with no less than half a dozen Tarkatans, which he hadn't encountered since his first lifetime. He had effectively died no less than four times that he knew for certain. There were some things he did not want to reveal unless he had no choice. His gaze shifted as he heard the roar of a motorcycle before a burst of blackish red smoke detonated skyward. "Unless I am mistaken, that may be that `Johnny Rancid` person the cybernetic warrior was referring to," he said idly, his gaze drifting lazily before spotting the bike and the gray skinned guy dodging oncoming traffic just to cause chaos.

Connie wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Well, the smoke from his motorcycle is definitely rancid-smelling," she said.  

[Kaosujin Ryu]

Kaisujin exhaled slowly, his eyes narrowing as they shifted to a deep golden white color that seemed to glow from within. "Then how about we show him how to hit the brakes?" he said idly, a slight growl in his voice. His skin rippled ever so slightly as he spoke, the sealed curse reacting to the darkness within the guy. He knew things... ones that made some deaths look pleasant. "Death is only a doorway... what lies beyond is unknown to the best and worst," he whispered as he noticed a thin streamer of red energy dart out before detonating in a flare and destroying the front end of the second of the following police cruisers.

"Yes, let's," Connie said, swooping down to grab the back of Rancid's biker vest.  

[Kaosujin Ryu]

Kaisujin was somewhat surprised to see Rancid swing a fist backward, square into Dawnfire's abdomen hard. "Ya ain't catchin` me that easy, girlie," he said harshly with a laugh. Kaisujin swooped just outside the bridge, one hand rearing back slightly before he flicked it, a barbed black blade on a chain slamming into the rear part of the engine directly above the speeding belt that ran the engine. He knew the chain would slam into the next support of the bridge and deliberately relaxed his arm as he turned slightly. The chain went taut the instant it hit the next support with a echoing clanging ting, forcing the bike to a very abrupt stop as it jerked, rearing up on its front tire and sending Johnny Rancid tumbling forwards.

Connie grunted, but she didn't let go of Johnny's vest. "It will take much more than that to make me let you go, Johnny Rancid," she said. As the demonic punk tumbled forward off his bike, she kept her hold on him and flew straight up. "You were saying?" she smirked.

Kaisujin saw Rancid twist, releasing a burst of deep crimson light square into Dawnfire's face from both hands. He focused, dispelling the 'spear' as he flew higher, watching Rancid drop towards the street.
