It took her a few moments to compose herself after that complement, Sure people complemented her before, but this time was just... very meaningful.
Not only that, but Luke had just said... that he liked her voice better then her favorite singer.
After thinking about it again she took another second before she could speak. though all she could do was a shy, flustered laugh, still half hiding her face and shaking her head.

There was an apology on his lips, a redress for startling her suddenly, but he was unwilling to voice it. An apology would just redact what he had said, and he hardly had the desire to intrude upon that simple truth. Instead he gathered himself and sought another topic, clearing his throat quietly and navigating through the mp3 player's menus, "You said you love this artist, right? What's your favorite song?"

Her face was still red, as well at her ears as she lowered her hands, looking flustered, but delighted by what was just said.
Pulling her eyes up from the ground she she had been trying to compose herself for the last thirty seconds, finding Luke once again when he asked her what her favorite song was.
She opened her mouth to answer, but paused when she noticed how red his face was.
He didn't seem upset though, just blushing and looking at the mp3.

"Uh, y yes, by the same girl. its called "Face Up" "
She hesitated a moment, "I love it, its beautiful, and hopeful. Like all her music. But that one, just... I've always loved it the most for some reason."

He replied with a small nod as he moved through the songs listed by artist, selecting the one that Rosie named. He listened quietly to the music as it played, curious what kind of song it was that she could indicate as her favorite without hardly having to think about it. He was unsurprised by what he heard; it was so very like Rosie that it almost sounded familiar, the lyrics sounding every bit like words that might have been produced from within herself. It wasn't difficult to imagine where her appreciation of the song had come from.

There wasn't anything that Rosie disliked about this song, more importantly, she couldn't express properly just how much she LOVED this song. The way it sounded, the lyrics, the way she sang it, just the whole message of it.
She hoped that Luke would like it too, but for now she was just enjoying it herself.
As the choirs started playing, she couldn't help but chime in herself, hand back to her ear, to hold the bud in, her head bowed to just vanish into this song.

Luke wasn't much of a connoisseur of music, generally listening to whatever made it to him, but he was certainly able to categorize and rank songs depending on their sound - and the mere fact that this one was of such importance to Rosie brought it to a high spot on his list. Eventually Rosie's voice joined the melody again, and he looked to her as she was absorbed into it, watching in comfortable discomfort. In the end, that was definitely his favorite sound.

AS the song reached its end, during the more passionately sung section of the song, Rosie swayed in her step, causing her to bump her elbow lightly into Luke.
Though it wasn't hard, the act drew her out of her song, and back up, arching her eyebrows as she looked over at him, smiling apologetically.
The song faded into its ending, leaving her no reason to sing anymore.
"Alright, now you're turn, whats your favorite song?"

Luke had been disoriented in her song as well, and he ducked his head slightly at the offered smile, just a little disappointed when the song ended. And then the question was posed to him, and he floundered briefly in an effort to come up with something. "I don't know about an absolute favorite, but I guess one of them," he looked through the menus on the off chance Rosie had it, "the artist is Pendulum," no such luck, "and for the song, maybe… Witchcraft?"

He wasn't sure how to share it without the song available in her player's library, and so without thinking he raised his voice to the first lines of the lyrics to offer something for her to try and recognize, "It's in your eyes, a color fade out. Looks like a new transition--" His thoughts caught up with themselves suddenly, giving him an abrupt understanding of the idea he had conceived and executed, and he stifled the song on his voice with a hand over his mouth, "Sorry."

"Pendulum?" Rosie repeated, then a few more times to herself,
"I... I don't think I've ever heard of them." came her conclusion, only confirmed by Luke when he didn't seem to find it. She looked surprised, but excited at the same time. Someone she didn't know!? Meaning new Musi-

And then, he started singing. All of Rosie's thought process stopped instantly, Large blue eyes turning up from her mp3 player in his hand up to the red haired man as he sang the first line of what she might have guessed was the song he had been looking for. - That was of course if she had not been currently blown away by the sound she was hearing right now, enough to actually think about it.

She gasped when he stopped though, "Oh no no no! was that the song? Keep going." she pleased hopefully.

He leaned slightly away, mildly distraught and displaying a renewed redness in his features. Luke considered for a long silence arguing against her encouragement, but… he wouldn't win. Couldn't win, really. And so he breathed a sigh, coming away from his tension as best he was able, and found the lyrics and melody in his memory, his voice gaining willingness despite his own reluctance,

"It's in your eyes, a color fade out
Looks like a new transition
Is starting up and shaking your ground
Turning your head to see a new day calling

"Does it feel like a head to lean on?
A snapshot from where you were born
I'm looking for your hand in the rough
You're caught in the wire
Well, I'll lift you out..."

It wasn't hard to see that he wasn't all that thrilled about it, and this realization caught herself and pulled her posture back up suddenly, aware of the words and request she had made before she even had time to think about it.
About to tell him as much, and that he certainly didn't have too it he didn't want to, when he... did start singing again.

His voice, was so good... so good, she couldn't even believe that he would not be more willing to express this move often, and she had gone this long. Two years of knowing him and in all that time, never knew that he had a voice to just, steal the feeling of the world around her away.
Her lips parted softly, in gentle awe, as she listened to him singing the poetic lyrics.
Where did he learn to sing like this?

Had she been more aware, she might have realized that she was staring at him, as they walked.

He moved through the song with an increasing grace, his body remembering the relaxation the experience of music always brought. It was something he had come to love in the seven years he had had to entertain himself in the manor, but the attention he had found that it attracted was uncomfortable. He'd made it a habit to only sing in places he wouldn't be heard to avoid unwanted audiences.

Of course, Rosie wasn't exactly an unwanted audience.

"We gotta get out
Go far away…"

The song faded from him, leaving silence and an unwillingness to look to his company.

When he stopped, she was eventually able to blink, and remember how to breath. Now suddenly aware of herself she moved forward in a skip, letting the eat bud fall out of her ear as she spun in mid skip to face him, walking backwards with her hands folded behind her back. "I'll definitely have to add that song to my collection, you made it sound really amazing."

He looked up, faintly startled, as she suddenly moved to face him, removing the remaining earbud and winding the discarded wires around the player. "It's… It's a good song," he said, the words quiet and cautious, deflecting the compliment towards the song rather than towards himself.

She shook her head, mostly to knock the curls away from her eyes as she walked.
"Thank you for sharing your favorite song with me," Rosie told him with a genuinely grateful tone, lifting her shoulders up, and dropping them back down.
She knew how he felt about singing in front of people, though this was the second time he had done it willingly in front of her.
