Edel would have very kindly stepped aside for the rest of the team to make the fire they so desired, understanding that the needs of many outweigh the needs of the few. She would just have to...hang around at a distance then.
The blood curdling scream certainly caught everyone's attention, and the frost demon's immediately turned to the direction from where it came from. There were whisperings amongst the students at the camp, and she could overhear some of them intending to go into the forest to help. "Hm...." she cast a worried look at her team mates, wondering what they were thinking.
The ghoul scanned the group, identifying a few other students in their final year. Edel couldn't help but feel some responsibility as a good senpai an upperclassman to look after the rest while the teachers were away. It might be a good idea for them to split up to have some of them stay while the others go with the rest to help...
Noticing that Shun was around, Edel motioned to her team that she would be right back after a quick word with him. "What do you think?" she asked the reaper. The frost demon didn't know him personally, but enough to know that was, well, one of the better fighters.

To say the least, Olivia's eyes grew a little larger and a little worried when Poke had suggested they make a fire. Oh no. Someone did need it in their little collective, she pouted despite herself; because she was trying to be good about fire for Andrew's sake but it was really still going to be a hard mindset to break. She was undead and a wight, and did not do well with flames. At least she wasn't running though, or looking incredibly terrified. That was some progress.
But the subject seemed to pass without anything being actually ignited, the dragon retreated into the tent and bundled up while their other companion seemed ready to settle down. Olivia found herself also able to relax as well as she remained outside, a smile softening up once again on her features and a little slump in her posture. Her blackened fingers began rummaging through their provided backpack, wondering what sort of items she would like to keep - if she got to keep them that is - when there were screams.
Her head shot up, staring in the direction of where they had come from before she turned anxiously to the tent where the other two were. Did she wanna go help? Well, yes actually. "Seems like it could be fun," it was hard to tell if that was sarcastic or not with how casually she said it. Probably not, this was supposed to be an adventure, right?

As if the issue of needing to figure out what to do about the fire wasn't enough, a scream had resounded through the area. Shun raised his brow, turning in the direction it had come from. Tilting his head, he soon shifted attention to Edel, who had wandered over towards him.
"It sounds like something is out there. Going out alone would be stupid. Quite frankly, we're better off holding our position here. We can have eyes in all directions, keeping watch in case a hostile decides to come by," he replied plainly.
He felt no reason to be running off to try and rescue the rangers. Nor did he feel any need to flee.

She would have been content watching Shun leaf through their supplies, coming (she imagined) to a conclusion similar to her own: supplies were useless. The obvious tinder announcement made her smile, rocking out of her crouch into a cross-legged powwow on the snow. So what if it was cold - and her teammates were kind of...dysfunctional. This was nice. Outside was nice. Camping was-
And then the scream. Davinica bounced to her feet, hackles bristled out to there-! Her ears pricked toward the lingering cries. "Staying?" the wolf coughed, orange eyes widening at her team's reaction. "You're not serious." But the undead boil was in on it too. His disdain for 'lower species' brought the ghost of a snarl to the tall ghoul's face, just for a moment. "There's something out there - something new," and something hunting, if she knew her tortured screams for aid well enough, "and you'd rather stay in here and...what? Nurse the fire?"
That last bit came out somewhat snide, aimed at the decidedly not-warm embers their blaze was rapidly becoming.

In the end, it seemed they had failed to keep a fire for themselves, but that didn’t bother TK in the slightest. It only made the tent more comfortable for the undead as he continued to slowly read through his book page by page, word by word, for the next three hours or so. As a bony hand reached out to turn the page of his book, screams surrounded them. He paused. His neck never craned up, but his eyes strayed toward the tent opening as a certain frost demon entered. “Hmm.” Curious he may be, TK wasn’t stupid either. Thin lips curled into a pleased smile as he turned toward Shun. “Wise words. Assuming the other groups choose to stay, we will have the advantage of numbers.”
A casual turn of the page. “Although I also assume there were a few reckless enough to leave anyways. If they return perhaps they can offer usual information.” Glowing eyes flickered toward Davinica. “If you cannot bear to stay put, you are more than welcome to leave on your own. I certainly will not stop you.”

“Alecto! Alecto is good,” she chirped at Mmur with a wagging tail. “Uuuuum.” It took her a while to formulate an answer, considering how difficult it was to dredge up any memories or information regarding the clans. “You have…four clans! Yesyes. And you had islands, but now youyou don’t. Scary. Spiralspirals.” She drew a swirling spiral in the air. “Thathat is what I know.” Which wasn’t much, to be honest. Ears perked up when she heard screams from outside the barrier. “Oh.”
Her ears flattened. “Oh. Not goodgood.” She shuffled away from the tent opening and closer to her groupmates. Whatever was happening to those voices, she definitely didn’t want the same to happen to her. Tisiphone shrieked for Alecto to run outside and investigate, but Megaera hissed for her to stay put. “Scaryscary,” the ghoul murmured, nervously turning to Mmur to tell her everything about the clans. Hopefully it would distract her from the echoing shouts.

BEEP BEEP!
What sounded like a car horn echoed through the woods, and the students would hear the sound of a fast approaching vehicle... Which soon went soaring through the barrier, screeching to a complete stop near the middle of the camping grounds. There was nobody in the driver seat, but there were several unconscious, bloodied familiar figures - the missing Park Rangers! - sitting on the seats at the back of the bus, all buckled up in place.
"Hop in, losers," The bus spoke-
Wait, the bus spoke?!
Upon closer inspection, you realized that this was the same bus that ferried you to this place. This horrible, horrible place.
If you didn't get on the bus yourself, the bus came to you, "swallowing" you up through the door on its side. Once all the students at the camp site had been gathered up, it left the barrier, heading back into the mist with a "belly" filled with students. It didn't take long for the bus to track down the students who had left the barrier - Piper, Brenley, Lock, Oliva, Pokerus, and Lihua - and they too, were "swallowed" into the belly of the bus-beast.
Next, it went to the site where the two instructors were supposed to be, and loaded a crying Leroy on board.
"I'm sending everyone back to school," The bus' voice was projected from the speakers near the front, "You're welcome back here after we deal with the mist... One of our guy's 'sunny weather' spells really backfired, and you know how long it takes to clean up after something like that." The good news was that nobody died this time! Ugh, the mess that had to be cleaned up after the last 'sunny weather' spell backfired...
As the bus traveled down the road back to Amityville, passing by more mist and semi-familiar scenery, Leroy sniffled and looked around the bus, scratching his bald, shiny head.
"W-Why does it feel like something's missing...?"
As the bus drove by a river near the road, some students would notice that there was a person by the river. That person seemed to be completely naked, his long, messy grey hair covering most of his back, although everything below was unfortunately not as covered; thankfully, the students could only see his back view. At his feet were a couple of unconscious bears, and it didn't take a genius to conclude that the person had been fighting bears. On the mountain. In the mist. Probably with his bear bare fists.
"HE'S ALIVE! That's Mal-"
The seat belt securing Leroy failed as the bus sped up suddenly, causing the Park Ranger to fall out of his seat, knock his head against the hard floor, and become unconscious.
"Oops. So sorry."
The bus didn't slow down until it reached Amityville - where it spat everyone out the same way it did when they first arrived at the camp - and Leroy remained on the floor for the rest of the journey.
[OOC INSTRUCTIONS:
You get +2 points for participating in a GMed Field Trip. You get an additional +1 if you went over 800 words!
You may continue to RP as much as you like/post a wrap post to hit 800 words if you wish to! It'll count!
While this field trip was supposed to go a different direction/finish differently, I realized that rp had been slow, and I'm not going to be able to fit the things I wanted to do in since December is coming up - and there will be things in December due to it being Christmas month. So, after talking to some peeps, I've decided to end this field trip so that you guys can rest up/recharge in preparation for Christmas things.
I would like to thank all of you for participating though! ;; <3 And sticking with me during this lull period. If you have suggestions/ideas on how I can improve a CYOA rp like this, feel free to PM/IM me! Or maybe you think CYOA is a bad idea? LET ME HEAR THOSE OPINIONS/RATIONALES.]

Mmur smiled at his audience of two, pleased to have found even the smallest handful of students who lacked all of the pesky biases his fellows seemed to foster so easily. Here were the children who would go on to spread the good name of the clans and tell others that their way was the only way to keep the humans from decimating them all, to keep insanity from infecting those they loved, to ensure peace and harmony and merciless slaughter hugging forever. He drew in a deep breath, stood a little taller, and was swallowed by a bus.
When he arrived back on school grounds, the horseman took a moment to mourn the loss of the tent they had left behind, as well as his bag and all of the interesting things inside of it. At least he still had his new shirt. Sadly, story time seemed less magical without orange mist clouding the air and innocent screams wafting out of the forest. He made a point to look for the ghouls in the crowd, nodding pleasantly when he found them.
"I will tell you of our people another time. It was fun... riding a bus and assembling shelter with you!" Mmur grinned and wiggled his fingers in a wave as he headed off back toward his tent.
