Haruko walked atop the long winding wall that wrapped around the village, slowly humming a quiet tune to herself as she usually did in her times of boredom. She had taken a shift on the wall after the incident that had happened in the training grounds, the sounds of screams still echoing in her ears, bouncing around in her head no matter how hard she tried to push them out. It was rare for anything to get to her this much. As a genjutsu specialist, she usually had a strong grasp over her own emotion, but this was different. This was one of their own who had killed themselves, and no one knew why. Haruko was determined to keep anyone and everything out of the village till they could figure out why. She continued her long walk around the wall, stopping to talk with people here and their, never talking for long, preferring for once to be alone, an odd trait for someone like her. Even if she didn't like a person, she felt better around other people, it gave her other things to think about, and sometimes distracted her, but none of it worked now.
A strong gust of wind blew across the wall, bringing with it the scents and smells of the forest, carrying on it the sounds of the birds singing and the people down below going about their daily lives, blissfully unaware of what had just happened in the village. It almost brought a tear to Haruko's eye how innocent all these people could be, despite everything that was happening right under their own noses, as if it didn't affect them. And in truth, it did not, she realized. The death of one ninja had little impact on their day to day lives. They cared about the simple things in life, like if it was going to rain, and the price of rice and sake at the local market. The larger political scheme had no impact on them whatsoever. No matter who held the village, they would go about their lives the same way they always had, just getting by. She reached the top of the gate and peered over the edge, counting the carts and people that passed in absent minded. The sight of the small carts and little people passing far beneath her almost made her doze off on the wall. It was only when another ninja tapped her on the shoulder and told her to do another lap of the wall did she snap out of her near trance like daze.
The sun was now at its zenith, and its powerful rays shone directly onto the top of the wall, blasting with a full wave of summer heat. Sweat dripped from almost everyone's foreheads, and most kept to the towers or guard shacks that dotted the top of the wall trying to stay as cool as they could. Slowly, Haruko continued her long patrol along to the top of the wall, slowly dragging her feet almost, soaked in sweat, and wondering why she had ever agreed to such a terrible assignment. She should have known it would be this hot on top of the wall, with no trees to shade her like the rest of the village usually had. She stopped off for a moment in one of the towers and slowly sipped some water from a bottle on her waist. The tower wasn't much cooler, but it provided a much needed escape from the sunlight and it was a welcomed relief. She sat for a moment longer, using her hand to try and fan herself, attempting to cool herself before she stepped back into the oven that was the wall. She got up from her chair and thanked the ninja in the tower who had afforded her a second to rest. It was a very uneventful rest of the patrol as Haruko continued to walk around the wall.
As she usually did, Haruko began to think about new Genjutsu she could develop. It was a favorite pass time of her's to imagine such possibilities and she enjoyed it greatly. The mind was a powerful weapon when used right, and even more dangerous when a ninja could turn it against another one. Haruko's own strength came not in her physical power, but in her power of illusions and her amazing ability to fool and trap other people within them. But it did leave her vulnerable, and only so many techniques existed, which is why she need more, to bridge the gap, but it would be a long time before she was on par with most ninja.
Haruko reached the end of her patrol, drenched in sweat. She reported in that nothing odd had been sighted and slowly wandered off the wall down the long stair that led to village and went off in search of food.
Michael arrived at the the gates to the village and decided to complete the mission he had been given. With a small jump he landed on top of the wall and walked to the closest guard. He asked if anyone unusual had entered the gate but the man said this was his first day of guard duty in a while. Michael thanked him for his time and headed to another guard about twenty feet away. He asked this guard the same question but he got a similar response, that he had been in the hospital due to a training accident. He then headed towards one final guard and asked the same question. The guard thought about it for a moment and mentioned. "Now that you mention it a young lad walked through a day or so ago. He did not even stop and show identification or anything." Michael thanked the man and continued around the wall. After about an hour of asking he got the same story but a little different each time. He then decided to leave on that note and turn his mission in. mission complete
Didn't say much, what could he say? The road here had been log and tiring, kinda lonely of you ask me. The boy's long, black cloak stopped short of the pavement. With the jet-black boots and the platinum blond locks, he'd appear as the apitomy of perfection. Gabriel tried to slide his way in but a steel hand halted his advance."A ***** can't visit? s**t...", the guard said nothing. The kid rolled his icy blue eyes and waited for someone else to intervene and allow his entrance.

The man who stopped him just looked at the male. The phlegmatic guard would raise up a clipboard and calmly question, "Reason for visit please."
Gabriel sighed at the guard, had they always been this stationary? "Well to be totally truthful, I am in search of a village to join. I was born here, but whisked away after birth by my father. I come in peace, I'm not trying to start anything, you can follow me around if that eases your mind. " Gabriel felt like bursting into a blast of laughter, being serious had never been his niche. Times like this, when he explained himself ,was usually accompanied with smirks and giggles; of course he couldn't do that here. This guard would dissect his story as fiction, or believe him to be foolish and unworthy of joining Konoha's ranks. It didn't really matter, if this guard rejected his entrance, he'd simply roam to another village and fuel their army.

Admittedly the guard wasn't expecting that kind of response. Another shinobi wanting to join the ranks of the village. Either other villages were not doing what they were supposed to, to keep their shinobi happy, or Konoha was starting to look like a refuge point of wayward shinobi. Which has both it's problems and benefits. Placing the clipboard under his arm, the guard sighed a little to the predicament before speaking, "Well... I admittedly do not have the power to just give you entry into the village as a Konoha citizen." Snapping his fingers, another guard would appear and come to his side, "If you are sure this is what you want, follow him to the Hokage office and someone will find an appropiate way to deal with the situation."
Gabe's face made little to no expression as he face palmed himself on the inside. He felt as though this could turn into a game of tag, until the correct authority was found. Hopefully the Hokage was in one space; making this entire game cease. With a bouncy stride he'd trail the guard in lead to what Gabriel prayed was their final destination.

Before the Cloud shinobi would permitted in, a Jounin shinobi would be standing between the outer gates and the inner gates. "Excuse me sir. Before we can permit you in, we need your name, rank, village, and the reason for visiting the village." The guard asked politely.
"I'm Saedo Hyuuga from Kumogakure. I'm a Chuunin. I was coming for tourist reasons but I'll be returning to my home, now. Sorry for the inconvenience." [Exit]

xxxxxHaving traveled from the Demon Country, Sofia was ready to kick back in the great village, Konoha. She had traveled the world once in her youth. Then, she had been young and just beginning her journey as a scientist. Konoha had been one of her stopping points on that journey. That had been at least three decades ago. The alchemist was curious to see how the village had changed. She was excited to start a new study. "Knock, Knock," She approached the gate casting her gaze upwards towards it's peak. A delicate hand moved up to give protection from the midday sun, "Ko-no-ha~" She sung out the village name as a smile slid across her lips. She felt her blood throbbing hard through her carotid. The glee made her feel weightless. How curious! She was not expecting to be this excited. Her heart pounding and an uncontrollable smile stretching purple stained lips over pearly whites. The prospects of new research had her quite excited. A guard eyed her for a moment before approaching. He took her information. Name? Sofia Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus Trismegistus or Paracelsus. Associated village? None. (This answer received a weary response from the guard so she delved in further. Born outside the village territories. Never found the draw to leave home and join some other nation.) Occupation? Scientist, Chemist, Alchemist, Researcher. Reason for visiting? Scientific curiosity and research. Length of stay? A few days perhaps. She showed she had no visible or hidden weapons and then was told to wait until a higher ranked shinobi could approve her entrance. Every question was answered with honesty. She had no ill intentions of physical harm. Her mission did not call for it.

The guard would blink in curiosity of the youth wanting to enter then changed his mind. But it just meant that here would be less work on his side of the table. Work that would replenish to the sight of a woman. After she gave information to the guard, the head gate guard would have the information relayed to him. A scientist? What purpose would she have in their village? But... if her motives were not to hurt the village, he couldn't see harm in her entering. Walking forth, the guard would approach the female, "We will permit you into the village. Although do realize that you will be watched. If you can accept these terms then welcome to Konoha." The man said politely but stern enough that the message of being watched is put across.
