At least it was a day off today. Nothing felt better than watching a bunch of punks fool around and not suspect that she was a cop. The looks on their faces when they get in trouble is priceless and so deserving! Well, to be more precise she once was a cop though now she was just so low paid security guard at the only school here. That sounded like monopoly to her. One school meant that society, or at least those in power, were supporting a single train of thought when it came to the minds of the future. That was sad and a bit pathetic on these people’s behalf. Couldn’t they have just split themselves to different regions and teach the bright minds there? Not everyone was like her so there was some leniency to her own thoughts. There were still activities in this school that were beyond questioning. Rumors spread, she saw things from the camera room and she saw things. Recorded them too in case things got out of hand. Then there was that incident with the history teacher. From her observation some things didn’t add up but it wasn’t as if she was given the order to dig into some things.
Well, enough of those rule breakers. Even when a sigh did come out of those pretty lips, it wasn’t going to change a damn thing. ’Not like any of those useless officers are doing anything. I wonder if their blind, dumb or being paid to waste someone’s time. Heart sucked on her juice box while staying seated on a bench. Watching people and Pokemon go on with their lives. ’I’m pretty sure that everyone one of them is a sinner, all I have to find out is what kind of sin they’ve committed.’

Aislin walked around the town with his hands in his pockets. He knew if he took them out he'd just fidget with the strings on his hoodie and he had learned the hard way that that usually led to his clothes being ruined.The twenty-something year old man walked with a slouch and a stammer. Blue eyes darted around every corner as if expecting every shadow to jump out at him. He had arrived at the district just when the sun decided to go to bed, and ten minutes in he had started to question the wisdom of his decision. He thought he could handle going at night, he hadn't had any trouble going out at night since... His breathing picked up, became sharp enough to cut into his lungs as he heard a slam to his right.
Bright green eyes stared back at him, a purrloin looking for scraps in the trash bin it had knocked over.
Nothing, it had been nothing. It had been... Aislin forced himself to calm down, told his body to stop seizing up and shaking, his brain to stop pumping adrenaline like a badly laced drug, neurons firing off panic signals life flare lights to the stacatto his heart was beating ******** had already recognized what was happening and had started scouting the area for a place Aislin could sit down. Telepathically, he gave his trainer directions, which Aislin numbly followed while his mind was in green eyes in the shadows, the sharp noise of metal hitting the ground, a figure emerging from the shadows, gun raised, green eyes ( were they green?) glinting like light reflected off a gun...

He wasn't, he was unraveling, his thoughts falling apart like a ribbon that's barely tied, red slipping through his hands along with everything around him.

It was too gentle to be called a command but too firm to be called a suggestion. Aislin found himself sitting on a bench with a ball of fluff he barely registered sitting on his lap. He ran shaking hands through the mewostic's fur and tried to ground himself, to remind himself, if he could just..

His mind was telling him otherwise but Ash clung to the voice like a lifeline. Breathe in. Breathe out. Equis, he abstractedly recalled the voice was Equis. Breathe in. Breathe out. He had gotten Equis after...well after. If Equis was here then it couldn't be....then he couldn't be... Breathe in. Breathe out. It felt like a life-time, it was only a few minutes. He continued on this vein. A boy and his pokemon, and a bench under an unmarked streetlight. Aislin was dimly aware of things through the shadows of his mind. Dimly aware that the fear was ebbing away, dimly aware that he was still shaking, dimly aware that Clara was hovering overhead -he had let her out after leaving the train so she could fly- Breathe in. "O-okay" You're fine "I-I'm fine" He looked up-having spent the majority of the episode with his face hidden in Equis' fur- after an inordinate amount of time. The shadows were gone. The streetlights kept the dark of night away, illuminating his way like the stars that had guided the wise men.
Aislin looked down at Equis, Equis looked back up to him. Headbutted him, made a face at him. Ash took a shaky breath, gave a shakier smile. The after-effects of fear and adrenaline were hitting him like a dose of Xanax, slow, steady, stabilizing. The cold around him still sat at his core, had a grip on him, but had been chased down by the warmth of relief and a meowstic on his lap.
"Dunno what I'd do without you bud." he muttered, taking one more breath before standing up again.
