Vigilant as ever, Mera's investigation continued. Co-starring Eridia. She start off by searching and taking notes, and trying to keep an eye where she stepped. It continued to be a vain effort, by the immediate looks of things.

Hemera needed a moment to consider if she should keep going or read the room.

Well now they had to stay, if only for Mera to prove some sort of point. She gave Eridia an even look. "There's more investigating to be done. The way it's looking, they might want us to keep going until the place actually sinks..." She returned to her notes and continued to scribble comments on what she saw. "And I'm pretty sure there's enough product in there that insects could never get in."

Hm. That could be taken the wrong way.

With a sigh, she said, "You look fine, Eridia."

And then, catastrophe. "Ah-!" Without thinking, she grabbed and pulled Eridia back. "Got you!"

The ground seemed to halt its efforts to swallow them up. Mera exhaled in relief.

Eridia chose to yell at her, Mera chose to not enable it. And the attitude left her confused.

"...You don't want to die but you don't want to be saved. Hm." An odd, conflicting attitude. Mera couldn't make heads or tails of it. Why were highbloods so odd?

Her voice lowered. "Why shouldn't I, if I know it's the right thing to do?"

So that's what her view was. Almost...pitiable. "I'm not judging and I don't try to judge. I just observe. And I'm not going to judge how true your statement is because I don't know how your life has gone." Mera had only witnessed bits and pieces, herself. "But I am not going to let you fall. I don't expect gratitude, or owed favors. It would just be...wrong, to stand by and let another terrible thing happen to you." Eridia was delusional and single-minded, but she wasn't evil. The troll had her own trauma to deal with, Mera understood that much.

She began to continue on, but she had gotten too trusting in her surroundings. She should've known better when she began to fall through, but she had somehow let down her guard just enough...
