Every pairing has its obnoxious people... sometimes they're the majority, and sometimes they're not. And I'm sure that sometimes, with some of the pairings that have so few people, that there are no annoying people at all... but that seems to seldom happen sweatdrop

I think what drives me away from Puzzle/Puppy/Main ones are the fans. About 90% of the fans of Puzzle I've met are kinda obnoxious.

@Nightfure: That is true. XD I love your somewhat-optimism.
@Apoct: Puzzle? Really? o.o That's like the most popular pairing I can think of that I've hardly met any obnoxious fans of. From what I've seen, Tendershippers seem to be the worst, and Puppyshippers come second. It's too bad though that those people ruined pairings you could potentially enjoy for you though. ^^;; I try not to let people or popularity decide what pairings I like. That's why I love such a popular pairing as Puppyshipping, but also such a crack one as Wallshipping.

Yes. Puzzle. I dig into the firey depths of YGO fansites, and find obnoxious people.
And it's not just the fans, kinda. I'm not big on Jou/Seto or Yami/Yuugi together.

I don't run into many obnoxious fans (except Puppy... *shudders*) but that's mainly because I never go anywhere on the internet... which may be either a good or bad thing XD But I've heard things... and many of the things are unpleasent. They may of may not have been true, though.... rabid fangirls are scary!
The reason I'm not into some of the main pairings is that I don't really like YamixHikari pairings... not becuase of the fans, but... I just don't like them that much. I'm okay with Puppy... but I think I'm too obsessed with other pairings *coughangstcough* to pay much attention to it... and then I'm not sure what some of the other mains are XP

Hmm, it seems that people really find different types of fans on different sites. I haven't explored much of the YUU*GI*OU fandom besides guilds on Gaia and the Janime forums (never join the latter; it's a scary place). I've met some noobish Puzzleshippers, but never ones that were obnoxious about it.
But it's good that you probably wouldn't care for the popular pairings anyway, Apoct, because then that means others didn't ruin them for you. XD
I tend to not care for Yami/Omote pairings either. I like Puzzleshipping to an extent, mainly because there's so many cute moments for it in the series, but Tendershipping and... Bronzeshipping is Yami no Malik/Malik, right? While I don't mind those two, they're just not so much my cup of tea. The only YUU*GI*OU pairings that I really, truly dislike are Prideshipping and Silentshipping, but I'm okay if others like them.
Angstshipping is awesome.
From what I've seen, Pride, Tender, Bronze, and Silent seem to be pretty popular as well.

Angst is being considered a main pairing? I mean, Angstshipping is awesome, and maybe one of my faves, but I just haven't seen that much of it around, I guess.... I've seen more Thiefshipping razz
I'm okay with Tender, Bronze, and Puzzle, and I can read fanfics with those pairings in them, but only if it's done a certain way... I don't really... like the pairings, and I don't really support them, but I guess I kind of see the appeal... or something like that sweatdrop
The ones I always thought were main (based of of FF.net and Gaia...) were the YamixHikari (Puzzle, Bronze, Tender), Puppy, Polar, Silent, Chase, and maybe some of the YamixYami pairings (Dark, Yami, Psycho)... though those might not be mains... I've just seen a lot of those O.o ... I dunno XD

I'm so rusty. I can hardly remember what any of these things are.
Hooray for Google. And boo for the fact that some of the pairings seem to share their names with businesses.
I don't really have any pairings that I actually dislike come to think of it. Although I do get frustrated with some. I normally say I don't like Bronzeshipping, but that's more to do with the large amount of fluffy stories I've read revolving around it, when ... I don't think I need to explain. I think that pretty much any pairing can be done right, if the author actully tries though.
I prefer the less common pairings just because it's nice to have something different. And I like the challenge of having to justify why it would work. But the more common ones just seem to have more silly fans, because there's more of them.
But it all depends on who and what you come across, which will be different for every person.
Tomorrow, I tell you what religion the Pope is. =P
The ones I think of as mains are Yami/Omote and Puppyshipping. Then the second tier, which is a lot of the others mentioned. Then the third tier, which is the obscure ones. Ha.

Mmm, while there isn't too many Angstshipping fans in the common YUU*GI*OU fans (like the general fans of Tender, Puzzle, Puppy, etc.), it seems to be a pretty popular pairing among more well... non-noobish fans. XD;; @Nightfure: Yeah, I get what you're saying with the Yami/Omote pairings. I think that's similar to how I feel. XD They're more fun for just some fluff or smut than actual developed relationships. It bothers me when people do fluffy Tendershipping or Bronzeshipping... it's just weird. Augh, how could I forget Chaseshipping as a main pairing?! D: *lowers head in shame* That's one of my favorites of the popular ones... @Morgey: Yeah, as much as I dislike Silentshipping, I have read one fic where it was a side couple and they did it pretty well. Didn't change my opinion on the pairing as a whole, but they at least made it seem plausible and interesting to me. You should read the Yugioh Yaoi Shipping List fic that Apoct posted in here earlier. The author is writing one shots for every yaoi pairing on the shipping list, and so far I have yet to read one that isn't well-written, even for the really unbelievable pairings. Hmm, that might be why I like Puppyshipping so much, because it's fun to try and justify the pairing, while still being plausible in an odd way. XD Got into the pairing way before I knew it was actually so popular. It seemed obscure to me until I discovered the YUU*GI*OU fandom. It was also the pairing that got me into yaoi. XD OMG I want to know what religion the pope is. o.o

Eek! I was gone for a week, cause I was in DC, but now I'm back!
Wait, the pope has a religion? O.O How little I know about anything...
And I guess that what's considered popular ships depends on the person you ask... they might all say Puppy, and the YamixOmote pairings... those are pretty much given... but others like Angst, YamixYami ones, Silent... those might vary from person to person, depending on where they've been :/

Ooh, how was DC? :3 I went there in Junior High, and remember it being well... actually kind of scary, like with a lot of creepy people and stuff. XD;;
Hmm, that does make sense. But then that just means that more pairings than we thought get some decent attention. ^^

It was big and scary and our hotel was too fancy, even though it was a three and a half star hotel XD There weren't many creepy people, except for my dad's friend, but he wasn't from DC razz Lots of walking, though, which was fine :3
There probably are... sometimes you can never tell unless you've been all around - to both the scary places, and the more innocent places...
