I originally took lessons on an acoustic when I was about 7, but I didn't stay with it for very long. Then in 5th grade I started playing the oboe, but I switched to an alto sax because I kept breaking the reeds and my father wasn't keen on buying a lot of oboe reeds. I stopped playing sax in the school band after 7th grade, because the old music teacher left and I wasn't fond of the new one. When I was 14, my father sold my sax and bought me a guitar, then a year later bought me a bass, and the rest is history.
