"Yeah," Yousei sighed in agreement with Miles, "I s'pose you're right..." She stood up from her chair and just as she was about to thank Miles for filling her position, she noticed an eratic jerk out of the corner of her eye and turned to see a very awake Camthalion. Yousei smiled, in spite of her fatigue, and approached his bed, "You're awake! How do you feel?" She noticed him glaring intensely at something and turned to see that it was Miles. Facing the Elf once more, she tried to break the intense silence, "So.. Uhh... Do you think you think you feel fit to travel in the morning, or should we rest here another day...?" She glanced back at Miles, but awaited his answer.

Yousei looked at Camthalion, rather perplexed by his request.. What could he want to discuss with her that he did not feel safe to discuss with the rest of the group..? She turned back to watch Miles shut the door behind him. Her gaze quickly returned to the ancient Elf before her and she idly clasped her hands together to watch herself fidget nervously in an attempt to avoid his gaze. Come to think of it, she had never really spoken to Camthalion alone since they first met, several months prior. She was his hostage then, so it wasn't a particularly pleasant conversation, and she was beginning to feel that this one would prove to be no better than the last...
After a moment of silence, she realized how foolish she must have appeared, and turned up her eyes to meet his, "Is... uhm.. Is there something you wanted to talk to me about....?"
The stars were already fading in the distance. Disappearing in the faintest of light, which threatened to pour forth from the East. Karasu watched the night fade in her silent contemplation. She now felt that she had been gone long enough, and elegantly cut through the sky as she quickly changed her course.

Camthalion's almost blank eyes tried to remain focus on Yousei. His energy was leaving him. There were things that needed to be discussed, and spoken in haste. This would be his only opportunity to do so. With all his might, he placed a hand on Yousei's chin. "I am sorry, but the incantation Witium used was faulty," he whispered. "Some ingredient was missing or misinterpreted, and my insides are screwed up because of it. But this is the least of your worries now. Listen to what I have to tell, and all will be...in due time, understood.
"The incantation Witium used to resurrect me was one of intense dark magical properties, such is the like that he will never be the same again. He will learn the ways of dark magic through experimentation and research, and along your journey, he may begin to forget who he is, as I did when I kidnapped you all those months ago. Be wary of his actions; he might do something out of character."
Camthalion breathed in heavily and choked, coughing up blood in the process. The was more that needed to be said. About the Brother-Leader, about Miles, and about Yousei.

Yousei felt herself growing more at ease as the Elf's feeble hand gently grazed her face. Perhaps, she thought, the conversation would be more casual than she had expected.. As he informed her of the incantation, however, she was rather disturbed. Images of a dark and twisted Witium entered her mind, and would not leave. The thought of one so lighthearted and just as Witium committing acts of evil was simply incomprehensible. Still, she listened intently to the Elf's words and as he spoke of the havoc that the black magic had wrought upon him, she felt her insides lurch. He had said it so casually that it took a moment to register...
She heard him cough and saw a flash of deep scarlet appear through the blurring mist of her eyes. He's only just come back to us, she thought to herself as she quickly searched her pockets for a clean bit of cloth to wipe the blood from his lips. As soon as she had tucked it away, she sat there in silence for another moment before standing to take her leave...
~~~
Karasu folded her wings as her feet touched the ground, and she slowly made her way back to the dirty window of the small, desert cabin. She silently looked inside. There was Camthalion speaking ominously to her master. She heard, however faintly, the conversation taking place. She noticed Yousei's expression slowly falling, the color draining from her ivory complexion.. It was then that she saw the blood. She winced. The black magic had already done considerable damage to his system. She had expected this to happen, but perhaps, she hoped that there was somehow a chance that he could have.. She silently cursed her own naive hopes and continued to solemnly watch the two Elves through the sand-covered glass.
Marten stood in the other room, his ear to the wall. Though the elf's voice was hazy, Marten could hear most of what he was saying. So he had been right! He celebrated silently, though it was short lived. Something in the elf's cough was familiar. It reminded him of a man who had come into the monastery with magic poisoning: he had used a spell too powerful for him and the residue was eating away at him like acid. He shook his head. If that was the case there was nothing he could do, outside of absorbing some of the excess into himself which would be lethal. With a sigh, he removed his ear from the wall and sent tendrils of magic into the other room.
It was bad, but not as bad as he had feared. The damage was not extreme, though it was widespread. His entire body it seemed was slowly dieing instead of disolving, probably a severe side effect of a failed necrotic spell. The good news was he could treat this kind of wound. Camthalion would even survive, assuming the corruption didn't speed up. He ignored the damage to the digestive tract - it wouldn't be a problem for a few days - and began to work on the heart and lungs.
((I didn't know if you were planning on him dieing or not, so I left it open either way. I had to do something though, Marten isn't the kind of character who would let something like this happen without trying to help.
"Don't go! There is...more...that needs to be said," barked Camthalion before he choked again and coughed up more. "The Brother-Leader is looking for you...as you witnessed with the attacks from...Kraid, Sagor, and that other person. Confront Kraid once more. Find a way to convince him to join us, and take down the Brother-Leader's rule." He coughed again. "The oppression ends here, Yousei. Find Emille before searching for Kraid. She will guide him to the right path.
"Miles, however, has a talent...yet to be discovered. You have seen him disappear and reappear without the slightest trace of injury or lack of stamina," Camthalion's breathing was becoming heavier. Just a bit more..."Watch your friend. He will learn this undiscovered talent, and he will dwell to excel in it. He isn't as much of a threat as Witium will be...but...he will cause some hostility among the company."
Camthalion with the last of his strength, threw an outstretched hand toward his fellow elf, hoping she would grasp it one last time. "I have...one last thing...to tell...well, more like show you."
Yousei flinched and looked back at Camthalion in shock. She had been certain that he had already passed.. She slowly returned to her seat and readily awaited further information from the dying Elf, struggling to hold back her tears until she truly had reason to cry... She nodded as he spoke to her, more horrible images slowly making their way into her mind. She could hear the urgency in the Elf's voice, and quietly, her apprehension grew. Not only was her ally speaking his final words to her, but their situation concerning the Shadowed Ones seemed to have grown more dire in the past few seconds.
Yousei tightened her focus. She could not allow her senses to be dulled by grief just yet. If she did, she would only be letting him down. She tried to make a mental note of his words, to remember them more easily. "Find Emille"... "Convince Kraid"... "Miles.." ... What..? The name caught her full attention. "Gift"..? she thought to herself, but she had no time to contemplate what he had meant. She nodded at his instruction, and trembled slightly at his touch. She felt herself losing the struggle to remain composed...
She felt tears forming in spite of herself as she replied, "W.. What is it...?"
