*Pets Tenchi's head* Well it's good to look after those who are weaker, I mean isn't that the TRUE purpose of learning more then the basics in Martial Arts? O.o

Strength of mind and body mostly to give the person a sense of peace and calm though yes martial arts are used to defend those who can not defend themselves.

I mean yes it's about strengthening those things, but it's the duty of a Martial Artist to protect the Weak! At least that's what it ended up involved being for most Martial Arts.

not really it always been about ones peace rather than the protection of the masses those who have goosd hearts will use it in the defence of others but other uses to abuse others.
Rule 1: Marital arts clubs do not codone the use of the art the teach to be used outside of the dojos halls.
How can you protect ppl when your barred from it even under your clubs own rules. (Though i have broken them rules, stopped a girl being raped, thugs with knives even stopped a gun man. To be honest to me its about using what you not to protect others even if the rules tell you not too.)

its very true if someone was to sue a club for being struck by a student of the club i doubt the club could afford the payment so yeah it is to protect them, but when you know martial arts its so easy to use they art you know for personal use.
Like say there is a guy you dont like and wanna hit him then some day you do just that, it does happen so the clubs need those rules to stop the hooligans abusing what they know.
For the art of Muay thai i can kill with a fist or a foot even a fingernow imagine i am a thug who knew that just think about what i could do with it. rob and kill, etc

Yeah they do need to stop that stuff, not to mention if someone went on a vigilante anti-crime spree and stuff. Yeah that would be most disturbing if you were a criminal, but it's so much easier to just use a gun and stuff. Few people want to go through the intensity of old school Muy Thai.

True, i was just stating if a thug truely knew what he could do i doubt he would use a gun, thats granted hes got the balls to look the person in the eye as he deals that death blow.
Sadly cowards will opt to use a gun cause they are indeed cowards humans have become like that when you give us something like that.

Yeah all too often humans and our villains have become most cowardly. Then again that's nothing new, for as long as there's been technology, there's been crime. The only new crime stuff has to deal with Identity Theft and Hacking.

Hacking is actually relatively new in the history of crimes. You need computers, which are recent inventions.
In terms of Identity Theft there wasn't really a lot of that. Sure there may have been Con Artists and such, but people didn't really do much buying or whatever in other people's names.
